    I only use mine in fresh water lakes. The dealer told me to rinse it off and wash it off occasionally. Also said to NOT use any lubrication because it would just attract more silt, dirt, etc.

    I have a 2019 outback that i use weekly in salt water. I clean it with fresh water every trip and lube with silicon spray regularly. I've developed a squeak on my pedal stroke that i can't find. I thought it was the cables moving against the plastic hubs, so i loosened my cables, did a really light sanding of the hubs to remove any dirt and applied a really light coat of marine grade grease onto the plastic hub face where they rub as i saw similar guidance from Hobie in your maintenance video for the 360 drive around squeaking. That wasn't it. Any guidance? It sounds like it's in the idler pulley but I've rinsed it with fresh water and lubed with silicon spray to no avail. Interestingly, it's usually quiet when i first start paddling but after about 5 minutes this annoying squeak comes back. Cable tensions are all good. Thanks for any help

    Can you do a video on how to adjust the rudder tension on my 2019 outback. I’ve had it for 8 months and there’s a lot of slack.

      In the back of your kayak, you can remove that black cap covering the lines. There's are 4 screws in there holding the lines. Loosen the screws and you can adjust the lines. One thing to be aware of is your kayak actually contracts (cold out) and expands (hot out), so don't make them too tight if adjusting on a cold day

    Hi, congratulations for the very comprehensive videos. Question: Can I upgrade MIRAGEDRIVE to MIRAGEDRIVE 180? If so, what do I need? thanks

    • @HobieOfficial
      @HobieOfficial  3 года назад +2

      Technically you can make this transition but we'd imagine trading up or selling yours and purchasing a MirageDrive 180 would be less expensive and much less work.

      This is recommended and the whole program doesn't take more than a couple minutes. Think of it as a fishing reel, which always functions best when kept clean and lubricated. The MirageDrive is just the same!

      Good question. Like why it’s loose in the am, and gets tighter during the day..

      @@BernPisarcikJr same , mine either feels right or to tight

    • @MPromnitz
      @MPromnitz 4 года назад +4

      @@BernPisarcikJr It's possible that it's tight in the morning when it's colder because your boat has shrunk. As it gets warmer throughout the day the boat will expand and your lines will get tighter. To adjust steering lines refer to page 34 of manual: static.hobiecat.com/digital_assets/2019_Outback_Manual_v2.pdf?_ga=2.216691798.1757773202.1578529159-1237441032.1534789491

      Morgan Promnitz Wow, I never thought of that. I thought it was just moisture in the lines, appreciate the input. Love my 2019 Outback!

    My question is I have the 2021 MD GT drive therefore if I order a MD 180 spine will I be able to use the fins and parts from my Old drive ?? I wouldn’t need anything else ?? I just want it to reverse

  • @TManOK
    @TManOK 2 года назад

    Is there a video on the forward and reverse pulls? The nut came off the screw and seems there is a lot of play now in the cables. I found the nut and seems it can be barely on to have the pulls return to the non pulled position.

    • @HobieOfficial
      @HobieOfficial  2 года назад

      The nut needs to be threaded onto the screw until the threads engage with the nylon part of the nut. The tip of the screw will be about flush with the nylon insert on the nut. If there’s some concern the nut will come off again, Blue Loctite 243 can be applied to the screw before the nut is threaded on.

    Hi, If somebody has a pro angler 14 model 2016, the mirage drive 180 fits perfect? I mean the turbo drive can be substituted by a mirage drive 180 on this model 2016? Greetings from Mexico, thanks

    • @HobieOfficial
      @HobieOfficial  3 года назад +1

      Besides the MirageDrive 360 all version and years of the MirageDrive should fit in any hull. We did make an upgrade to something we call the "Guide pins" for more recent drives but those guide pins can be cut or ground off to fit into an older hull.

      We recommend rinsing with fresh water and lubricating after each use. This will keep rust and corrosion at bay.
