We visited the John Lewis Longstock Water Park Garden, though we didn't really see the Water Gardens as such, as there wasn't a lot of time, but it is a really beautiful place to visit in the heart of the countryside even just to buy a couple of plants and have a nice lunch. We will go back another time.

So glad that Rob has had his procedure and it's made a difference especially in time for his retirement. My husband took early retirement about 8 yrs ago then had a part time job but gave it up during covid. It does take a while to get used to having a man under your feet but the one thing I love is that I dont have to iron 5 shirts every week for him. Happy retirement Rob. 🎉

Happy Retirement! I’ve never looked back, I retired 2020, and have tried so many new things since, life is very full, and I am so grateful that, at the moment at least, life is fun. We went down to one car too, and it hasn’t been an issue. We have been caravanning for years, on retirement we invested in a new caravan, ( didn’t get it until 2021, due to lockdown); with air conditioning so we can go abroad and be comfortable in the heat. New chapter indeed, enjoy !

Happy Retirement Rob!! Helen, I was also concerned about both of us retiring. I retired 3 years ago and my husband retired 2.5 years ago and it has been great. You can do chores at any time rather than having to do them on the weekend. So enjoy, both of you! That's great that Rob's cardioversion worked so well! 😀

I also retired this week after 40 years as a nurse and am looking forward to what is to come. I sadly lost my husband 6 years ago so it's going to be a solo journey for me but I have 4 beautiful girls to share my adventures with. HAPPY RETIREMENT ROB 🎉 wishing you both happytimes in this new phase especially now with your caravan. Helen I'm so glad all went smooth for Rob's operation, my husband had to retire at 63 for health reasons after many years of working abroad on a month off/on . I was happy about it but he was upset and it took about 6 months for him to accept it, but we've never looked back. Tom is nearly 81 I'm 79 and we are so lucky to have had this time together and to become grandparents 15 years ago. We have a date day once a week where we go out early morning down the coast or to York, have a mooch about, lunch and sit outside people watching. I keep busy gardening, crafting and baking, Tom grows veg, loves the greenhouse and pottering in the garage doing DIY., he took up cooking and does most of our meals. You will soon fall into a routine with each other I'm sure, luvnhugs, Margaret

We are gradually settling into our new routine. It is a big change, but Rob is so happy, that helps. xx
