Dog Komamura runs at you with a sword in his mouth and out of nowhere a Giant Demon mask pops out of the sky, and it too has a sword in its mouth.

The humanization technique really is the ultimate showing of loyalty. You give up your self in exchange for the power to fight for others.
One of my favorite captains. The moment when i saw he went from wolf to human. I literally couldnt believe it. Glad that he survived the war.

About Komamura, in the We Do Knot Always Love You novel it's confirmed that Komamura can only speak in the beast language and lives outside the Seireitei on a hill. Also he was reported as dead to the whole of Soul Society

I feel like because the king of his clan we would eventually see Elder Komamura who can speak both once again

@@lillith7257 I doubt that he will be able to speak. I think he could communicate with the Big Dog cause he himself was a dog, you know.
But in novel we got introduced to new wolf clan members, 2 young brothers, and they became squad 7 members and at least they can speak to Komamura and translate to others what he's saying

@@davidt6814 just the fact that they both can't die basically I mean. Komamura is invulnerable and Gerard seems to always regenerate from any injury. It'd be interesting to see how they could damage each other.

18:02 in the light novels it’s explained that he’s still self aware and has the same level of intelligence, but he has almost no spiritual pressure and is incapable of human speech. He can understand human speech though.
I feel Komamura illustrated beautifully what the Humanization Technique meant. They were beasts because they gave themselves to these urges in life. The Humanization Technique requires to give up the Heart, the corner stone of life. Giving it up means that you relinquish what gave you your form, in this case Revenge. But the moment you give in to what was at the core of your being AFTER having given it up, it overtakes you. And so he turns into a wolf/dog.
Interesting
Its less that he's overlooked and more that he's under utilized. He has a Bankai suited to slaying giants in a similar manner to mecha anime and only ever fights one giant during the Fake Karakura Town arc. He needed better fights.
Like what if we got to see Tenken vs. Yami's 2nd form (Not the multi-legged one, the... Ressurectìon(?)... The rage beast mode)
I think a fight between Kokujo Tengen Myo'o and Gerard Valkyrie would have been too awesome. So Kubo had to lay him off to give the other captains at least a little bit of a shining moment.

@tom gu temporary immortality. Once he went back wolf mode he lost it. He was immortal for that fight yes.. but he was sent to the animal realm.. he does "die" but he'll be back eventually because all souls return to soul society eventually. At least in animal cases. He would of been smacked with everyone else.
If they ever do continue Bleach, just imagine if Komamura came back and was fighting like the Great Grey Wolf Sif from Dark Souls! I would love that!

God. Sif with a Bankai. And Tenken could be transformed into a war hound instead of a War Diva to represent Komamura. Or he just has the sword and all of its destructive power but no Bankai. I miss Bleach, it was my favorite series to come up with fan theories.

For some reason, I didn't realize the Buddhist reincarnation cycle thing before. That explains Komamura and his clan.
So I guess that makes Soul King and the Soul Palace the Heavenly Realm (Deva), Shinigami and the Soul Society the Demigod Realm (Asura), Earth the Human Realm (Manusya), Komamura and his clan the Animal Realm (Tiryak), Hollows and Hueco Mundo the Hungry Ghost Realm (Preta), and Hell the Hellish Realm (Naraka). I wonder if that means the beast souls have their own dimension, like Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and Earth.

the Beast Realm isn't really explained much tbh but from the light novel We Do Knot Always Love You plus whatever snippets we saw in the manga, we know the place Komamura is froim at least is off in the mountains or over the mountains or something kinda far away from the outskirts of the Rukongai but still in Soul Society (if we are to take Soul Society as a realm and not just Seireitei+Rukongai)

Honestly my favorite character in all of bleach so happy tekking covered him. I love the canine-human design Kubo did, but his character is a perfect representation of pure justice and honor. Sure he was pretty much an upgraded chado like punching bag, but still awesome!

Shikai is better bankai can be seen coming but shikai can just appear and boom your hit while komamora is out of sight how do you dodge an instant giant attack
After a while tho the pattern becomes obvious. Just follow up on sajin's moved and reflect them as if he was up close
Well, to be fair, there's also the power difference. Remember, Bankai increases your power 10fold whereas Shekai only increases it 5fold. So his Bankai might be more vulnerable since the entire body appears, but it does a lot more damage as the trade off. Not that that's much of a weakness considering his Bankai is covered in armor. It's only really a weakness against broken characters like Aizen, Tosen's hollofied form and the Quincys. 99.9% of other enemies would only be able to do superficial damage at best.
Komamura loyalty to Yamamoto was very inspiring I dont know how deep of a debt he owe him but if he was literally still alive thanks to him I'd be walking towards vandereich with revenge in mind too, even at the risk of my humanity.

Sajin was always my favorite. I love his bankai which literally translates to "Black Amor of Divine Punishment" and he gets extra points for being a fox.

i actually liked this i been wondering about komamora for a long while
there are 4 direct connections to the heart. 1 to the lungs, 1 from the lungs to the heart, 1 to the rest of the body, 1 from the body to the heart. The blood vessels divide as they get further out but there are 4 points where they directly connect to the heart.
I get that the humanization was a bit too strong for the final arc it had to not be there for some reason or another. I just would have preferred that he take out a few more guys before he became a full good boi.

Komomura had an interesting role in the story for me. I loved watching him interact with those he had history with. He played well off of other character interactions. A bit of a grounding force ideologically and morally in the Gotei 13.
This is the only Chanel that I can watch for hours on end talking about the same thing over and over again

Tekking, here's a question for you that's been bugging me for a while. If 'the blade is you', how do you imagine it can be stolen? I would think such a thing would either be impossible, or it would cause some immense physical/spiritual damage, the equivalent to having part of your essence ripped away. The zanpaktou is its own existence, from an assauchi, but it is the shinigami's energy/soul powering it. If nothing else, wouldn't they just be able to 'turn it off'?
I am still getting amazed at how much of a grand library tekking his memory is when it comes to bleach stuff...
When I first saw Komomura, I liked him because of his mysteriousness and strength. When the helmet came off though, that's when he became one of my favorites. Not #1 fave, but very high on my list. Also one of the characters in all of Bleach that I'm most like. Loved when he got the humanization power up, it was kind of like a reverse werewolf. I didn't like his human form as much though, not as much as his canine form. I'd probably get the urge to pet him behind the ears too. lol

Maybe the big falcore dog was what he was from using the humanization technique himself? The flashback of the original gotei 13 there was a big guy with what looked like a bucket on his head similar to Komamura, so maybe that was his Great Grandfather?
Joshiro's release command is lighing strike now and become my sword waves rise no and become my shield, i thought it meant lightning being the enemy's attack, water which conducts lightning sends the attack, the charms on the stings were said to be able to change the speed and range of the attacks, aka water being able conduct and control the output of whats going to happen
