Barragan was one of the coolest espada In my opinion I mean he was the king of Hueco Mundo he ruled over the entirety of it and all of its inhabitants since pretty much from the beginning of time and he was the very 1st Hollow to reach the Vasto Lorde stage in a age where soul reapers has no Zanpakutō so pretty much all hollows ran rampant to the point to where most hollows reached The adjuchas stage Even Ikimikidome still acknowledges Barragan as the king And He pretty much had his own court of hollows and Arrancar that served under him and followed his every whim some being other Vasto Lorde and The lower stages of the Menos He was the person that originally brought Szayelaporro into his court to be a scientist as he recognized his talent and knowledge
6:35- to the point you could say his actual death aspect might be Pride- once Aizen’s temporally out of the picture, he takes charge, has a throne made for him and orders his own fraccion to do his bidding, like the king he used to be- the other Espada acting more like confident combatants against their foes. His powers are more into the metaphysical than the others, justifying his confidence- yet this confidence is what leads to his undoing as his power is used against him, an oversight that he didn’t see coming. Not to mention all of his Fraccion are all egotistical. His Zanpakuto is literally named arrogance.
I like how when Baraggan died, the only one character who seem to care in a way was Starrk. I guess it was pretty much because it was a lonely way to die and before Starrk and Lilynette had separated from the same hallow, he remembered what it was like to be lonely.
If anyone is curious, the show that he mentioned is called "The collector" . Where the titular character is basically trying to save the souls of people who made deals by getting them to make amends to the people that their deals screwed over.
Barragon has been around for literally millions of years (before the first zanpakuto PROTOTYPE was even thought of) he should’ve have had more time in the spot light

I believe he called his battle axe a guillotine because a guillotine was also called the nations razor. Being the king of Waco Mundo he viewed the whole world as his nation so his weapon that he used to kill those that annoyed him was the razor he used to cut down the ants.
28:31 Deathgod, Reaper, Emporer, PIMP - Barragan. Totally love the design even tho these "Hougyoku fused designes" aren't canon with the novel but were designed for Bleach Brave Souls.
I imagine that Baraggan was some form of hierarchical leader of either Mesopotamia or aboriginal Australia Some 50,000+ years ago or possibly a neanderthal from ~800 - 300 thousand years ago.
We know what happened with the first Hollows Tekking from CFYOW they weren't humans they just existed because back then death or life didn't exist. Somehow they came into existance that was before the Soul King lost his limbs and many other parts and before Hueco Mundo even existed.

When I was first watching Bleach base solely on his design, I thought Baraggan was going to be Chad's grandfather than he mentioned and that they would have a climaxed showdown. I know it was stupid of me to expect that Chad was going to be useful and actually defeated a major villain.
It was stated in one of the data books, Unmasked I believe, that the Espada are ranked based on their amount of reiatsu. If you look at it from that standpoint, all the rankings make sense.
Anybody else think it was super weird how the Hogyoku effected Baraggan? He is a walking, talking, feathery cloak and crown wearing skeleton. Then Aizen uses the Hogyoku on him and he becomes a typical looking human. Immediately I think that humans are weaker than living skeletons, for the simple fact that when humans die they become skeletons, so if a skeleton is still alive it has to be pretty damn strong. Then, when he goes into his resurreccion, he simply reverts back to what he was before Aizen ever did anything, with the same powers and everything. He had Respira then and now, I believe he had the same axe as he does in his resurreccion. No other hollow reverted to their original form they were in before the Hogyoku when going into their resurreccion. No adjuchas, no vasto lorde. So why did that happen with Baraggan? It’s almost as if it made him weaker by giving him that human form. The human form is literally just a weaker version of himself. His sword (axe) is sealed. And being that when humans die they become skeletons, I would say that if a skeleton was living, it overcame death from aging, and is pretty damn strong. Maybe his Respira, and power over aging reacted with the Hogyoku, reversing the aging process, his power. It’s weird but ? It could be why Hachi was able to kill him using his own power. After all, it seems as though Baraggan has been around forever, and deliberately stated that aging, and therefore his own power, could not kill him. Until, Aizen used the Hogyoku on him, giving him a human form. The human form also gave him organs and stuff. Like if he was always a skeleton, at least always a skeleton as a hollow, then he never had ‘insides.’ So how could Hachi put something ‘inside’ him? It would just go underneath Baraggan’s rib cage if Hachi tried to put something in his stomach. So gaining a human form created ‘insides.’ Even in his resurreccion skeleton form, he had like ethereal organs and innards that he never had before.
wow, that's great insight! Totally agree! He was so strong that his released form was simply him! Barragan truly was captured by Aizen without gaining anything in return.
The way I understood, Espada are ranked according to their reiatsu and also according to their death motives, or rather their fittingness for the death motive of each number Edit: the way Aizen brushed off Nigeki Kessatsu goes off like this: he basically uses his raw reiatsu to nullify the reiatsu of Soi Fon's technique on him. And about Barragan using Respira on Aizen, probably wouldn't affect him. It's official information that if Respira was used on Kenpachi, for instance, his reiatsu would brush off that miasma and it wouldn't be able to even touch him

Baraggan is easily my favorite Espada. Cool design (both his standard and Resurrection forms), his power is GREAT and his personality of a royal deity was interesting to see. Specially considering his inner grudge against Aizen. And I firmly believe he was the strongest Espada, Stark was a beast but the ability of Baraggan is just too OP, the only constant is time and death and he reined over it. (I won't even talk about the statement that Ulquiorra was the strongest, that's not even worth it) One moment I liked, small moment but great, was when Yamamoto released his Shikai and both Halibel and Stark were impressed/in shock but not him, he was unfaced and that is big dick energy if I ever saw one.
Baragan was such a huge missed opportunity. It's hard me believe doesn't have a ancient cero and an evolved form because he didn't take that fight very seriously. I would've loved to see a conversation/fight with Baragan and Yhwach with him going all out who knows might of joined forces temporarily.

13:29- the other Espada, even Grimmjow, acknowledge their pride of being the strongest Hollows of Aizen's army, Barragan was a king- to acknowledge he's a subordinate would be rubbing the wound of his pride even further.

Wikus Bester he’s saying if he had the option to choose, not that Kenpachi would actually collect his soul. I’m also pretty sure most of squad 11 don’t reap souls because they’re the fighting squad and are usually in the soul society unless something big happens
My dad who was over 80, brought up the death converation with me, we had the same feelings about it. Getting older sucks sometimes, you can’t avoid it, but not in a rush for it.
I was going to watch this in its entirety before commenting - but, ya know... crushing inevitability of time and we all have one foot in the grave *tumble*
Finally. Iove these. But I also hate waiting. I am a binge watcher so it kills me to not have them all done already. Hell, even looking forward to luppis
If a Soul Reaper slay an Arangar would be the same thing happen when a Soul Reaper slaying the hollow?(As in they would be clazned and sent to the Soul Society.)
Well, the arancars are menos class hollows, which means that they are creatures that are created from more than one soul. The original souls are reconstructed in a form of a menos and when they are killed they can't return to their original form, because they are no more the old souls, they are a new being. I don't know what happens with them, but they are not the normal hollows which we know, they are something like them, but something more than them. It's complicated.
I honestly just call complete bullshit on that and dismiss it entirely; it's clearly one of those things were Kubo realized his characters couldn't beat an OP character and came up with some bullshit without realizing that it makes no sense.

Barragan is really overpower, but i still think Stark would win thought, also tekking what do you think about a bleach prequel with Barragan and a young Yamamoto?
Edward Armstrong something tells me Starrk has way more reiatsu than Barragan. Barragan was able to surround himself with an army, while Hollows couldnt survive being near Starrk. @@kana22693 I am pretty sure that respira takes time to decay things, this is a pretty bad weakness to have against a DPS kinda fighter like Stark, especially since is stated in the databook that Stark can fire infinity ceros i think Barragan would go out of reiatsu first.
I like to think that Barragan and Yamamoto would both act as statesmen and come up with some sort of cease fire against each other after a giant battle. It was extremely rare for a hollow greater than a Menos Grande to attack the world of the living while Barragan was in charge, so Barragan might have kept others in check.
Starkk was stronger than Barragan for several reasons. 1. Shunsui confirms he thought Starkk was the strongest after saying he was hoping Starkk was 2. 2. Barragan surrounded himself with armys of hollows for millennia. Stark didn't find a single hollow of the mass amounts of hollows that could be neat him. 3. Aizen said he was. 4. As for fighting, Starkk has Insane long range Sonido. Crossing the massive Los Noches in a single Sonido. And he is a long range fighter. Bad match up for Barragan.
6. Stark is capable of attacking from any direction and/or as a pack of attackers. 7. Stark was capable of literally filling the sky with Ceros and Ceros of such power that two of the strongest Captains in the soul society were worried. And that was Stark casually attacking.
None of these are reasons that he was stronger/could defeat Barragan. Not stating my opinion, but you just listed abilities and background information, that from what is stated in the video could be overlooked.
1. We wanna go back to each rank reveal and assume that if someone thought/hoped they'd be stronger? 2. That's pretty irrelevant. That effect was present up until Aizen found him, u less you want to say that everyone we've seen in his presence is some mighty being. At worst, he found a way to suppress that and so Barragan would be able to as well. 3. K. From what we've seen, they didn't outright fight for their rank. You really wanna fight over Yammy? I'd put Respira over Yammy's 0 form any day. Barragan also hated Aizen more than he hated his given rank, which is probably the only reason he didn't go after Starkk the way Nnoitora went after Nel. 4. So at best, Respira can't catch Starkk but Barragan's too slow to catch him, making it a draw.
Something Aizen stated, this could very well be related to his illusions, but he does state that with a high enough spiritual pressure you can overcome special powers. Stark could very well have a strong enough pressure that respira may very well have no effect on Stark.
@@Dexx1s Yammy is only weak as he is because he can't use pesquisa and can't tell how strong his opponent is, that's why he got beat by an Ichigo who couldn't even touch Grimmjow in base despite being arguably in the top 2 espada.

When Ichigo first fought Zaraki, he was initially unable to cut him due to inferior reiatsu. So no real surprise that Soifon couldn't kill Aizen with her ability. I think it has to do with how vast the gap is in power though.
That's a good point but it doesn't explain why Kisuke could effect Aizen after he had transformed. No way was Kisuke equal to or even close to Aizen reiatsu wise after he transformed. He probably wasn't on that level when Aizen was in his base form either yet his Kido spells did hit him and his Shikai abilities did very slightly burn him.

Barragan was one of the coolest espada In my opinion
I mean he was the king of Hueco Mundo he ruled over the entirety of it and all of its inhabitants since pretty much from the beginning of time and he was the very 1st Hollow to reach the Vasto Lorde stage in a age where soul reapers has no Zanpakutō so pretty much all hollows ran rampant to the point to where most hollows reached The adjuchas stage
Even Ikimikidome still acknowledges Barragan as the king
And He pretty much had his own court of hollows and Arrancar that served under him and followed his every whim some being other Vasto Lorde and The lower stages of the Menos
He was the person that originally brought Szayelaporro into his court to be a scientist as he recognized his talent and knowledge
i wonder how many of the other espada followed barragan
6:35- to the point you could say his actual death aspect might be Pride- once Aizen’s temporally out of the picture, he takes charge, has a throne made for him and orders his own fraccion to do his bidding, like the king he used to be- the other Espada acting more like confident combatants against their foes. His powers are more into the metaphysical than the others, justifying his confidence- yet this confidence is what leads to his undoing as his power is used against him, an oversight that he didn’t see coming. Not to mention all of his Fraccion are all egotistical. His Zanpakuto is literally named arrogance.
As it's said, "Pride goeth before the fall"
Dang, imagine if Barragan just had some milk handy on him. He'd be immortal.
Honestly Barragan is what Shinigami in bleach should've looked like lol.
Barragan is more like a western reaper.

If anyone is curious, the show that he mentioned is called "The collector" . Where the titular character is basically trying to save the souls of people who made deals by getting them to make amends to the people that their deals screwed over.
Making barrigan number two due to psychological games really does fit Aizen’s style

very thought out and interesting commentary, I enjoyed it a lot! It never crossed my mind that Aizen could make Barragan a 2nd to piss him off, makes perfect sense. I was VERY underwhelmed when it was revealed that Starrk was no 1 and then his fight abilities were nothing spectacular. So disappointing, especially after seeing Respira. Barragan was one of my favorite Espadas and I agree, his fight made you think about life in general and that's a hallmark of a great shounen battle imo. Kubo tried to incorporate philosophy on life in other fights in Fake Karakura too (Findor vs Shuuhei and outlook on one's own weapons, etc) but here it was done best

I think Stark was number 1 just because his retsu maybe so powerful that it dispelled Bara's aging
Stark is #1 Espada because he wields more destructive force and maybe he is faster
When I was first watching Bleach base solely on his design, I thought Baraggan was going to be Chad's grandfather than he mentioned and that they would have a climaxed showdown.
I know it was stupid of me to expect that Chad was going to be useful and actually defeated a major villain.
that would be really crazy, but very interesting! Or maybe someone from his family tree, from way back then.
Barragan: nothing is eternal.
Aizen: say that again?
The way I understood, Espada are ranked according to their reiatsu and also according to their death motives, or rather their fittingness for the death motive of each number
Edit: the way Aizen brushed off Nigeki Kessatsu goes off like this: he basically uses his raw reiatsu to nullify the reiatsu of Soi Fon's technique on him. And about Barragan using Respira on Aizen, probably wouldn't affect him. It's official information that if Respira was used on Kenpachi, for instance, his reiatsu would brush off that miasma and it wouldn't be able to even touch him
im not sure the resperia on kenpatchi deal is real
kenpatchi was shown to be very woundable by many fighters weaker then barragan

Baraggan is easily my favorite Espada. Cool design (both his standard and Resurrection forms), his power is GREAT and his personality of a royal deity was interesting to see. Specially considering his inner grudge against Aizen.
And I firmly believe he was the strongest Espada, Stark was a beast but the ability of Baraggan is just too OP, the only constant is time and death and he reined over it. (I won't even talk about the statement that Ulquiorra was the strongest, that's not even worth it)

I like to think that Barragan and Yamamoto would both act as statesmen and come up with some sort of cease fire against each other after a giant battle. It was extremely rare for a hollow greater than a Menos Grande to attack the world of the living while Barragan was in charge, so Barragan might have kept others in check.
Bruh...I don't think this dude and I would get along great in day to day life but...I love his energy! He's like the coolest nerd ever!
One of your best bleach videos
Baraggan IMO is the strongest Espada. His OP hax abilities are busted. The only way to beat him is to use his own power.
JustTooLit not really. Aizen beat him and he didnt even need to use Barragans power against him. If you have overwhelming spiritual power (more than Barragan's), thats enough. Thats probably why Starrk is Espada 1 too
@@Deadpool-px2nm then why aizen use kyoka suigetsu when they approach barragan? Why not just use his SP to make barragan kneel like he did with grimjaw?
Okí Fukurō ok look im not underselling Barragan THAT bad. there are other ways to use high spiritual power, like level 90+ Kido without incantations. my point is I think Aizen can beat Barragan even WITHOUT Kyoka Suigetsu. My question to you is: If Barragan could easily kill Aizen all this time, why didnt he? Why not just use his rot powers in all directions or when Aizen isnt looking?
@@okifukuro9056 when has aizen ever in his whole showing done things the simplest way
all his plans amounted to doing things in a overly complicated and unneeded hard and slow way
the manipulated the entire 13 squads into civil war killed the central 46 guided ichigo like a mouse in a maze recruited tosen and tried to have them kill rukia
just for us to find out he could have just ripped the stone out of her chest at anytime
@@Deadpool-px2nm im not saying that barragan can beat aizen, im saying that aizen is aware what barragan can do still aizen is the winner
recently been rereading since the thousand year bloodwar arc is coming and i still loved barragan so much
Tekking101, Barragan was confirmed to be a million years old. Ulquiorra is actually older, since he lived in the previous world where death didn't exist and the Soul King had ruled.
Looked up Tier Harribel's Can't Fear Your Own World outfit after this. That girl loses more clothes with every transformation. Her bra thing is probably just pure reiatsu. Still love her in all her forms though
Aizen's hand would decay, but the stone would regenerate him faster
i think tekking was asking how if would work without the stone
then again i just had a thought
was aizen just bullshiting about his riatsu and it was actually the stone keeping him from dieing to soi fons 2 hit move
@@scottgrasser9737 Probably cause otherwise he wouldn't have been worried about Ryujin Jakka.
