Amongst all these “reformed bands” or many versions of the same band/tributes to the original (Adler, and how many versions of LA Guns) stand Winger..: getting better and playing better than ever before.
Steven Adler's band puts on a hell of a show and his singer is better at Axl than Axl is these days. Yeah it's obviously not GnR but still a fun time. Night and day difference between them and the fake LA Guns.
This was the first concert act I ever saw. Great Falls, Montana. I was 16, is was the summer of 92. Because of this concert I played drums professionally for 20 (18-38) years. Got to do a lot of cool things because of it. Saw them again in 2014 at Rockin' the Rivers in Three Forks, Montana. They were still awesome!
What a great Band. The musicianship and song-writing is just killer with these Cats. You can't hear all the dynamics in this recording - but still super cool. I bet they sounded killer there, at the show. Great Band.
No matter what the venue is these days the M3 or Monsters of Rock Cruise or other festivals Winger is always the most talented and best band on the bill.Also it helps that beside being insanely talented these guys actually seem to like each other and get along and it shows in their performance.
True story,my neighbor gave me 4 tickets to Deep Purple at the last minute..,Winger was the backup band.I arrived after they had played their set.I asked some people hanging around the side of the building, Worcester auditorium,MA.,if they wanted my extra tickets for free.They started laughing,it was only Kip Winger! I had no idea!He gave me a high five and ,I walked away.!
Last time I saw em was At Club Vegas In SLC. I talked to Reb after the show for a while. Super cool guy with absolutely ZERO ego. One of the most underrated rock guitarists of all time.
Metallica endlessly poked fun at these guys, but when you go to a Metallica show these days, it's as if they can't play most of their songs without stopping or fucking them up, yet Winger can manage to sound incredible every single time without compromise!
Just when this song couldn't get any more cheesy and easy to hate lol he throws on the Britney Spears mic. He's just so easy to hate lol. He's really good and sounds great still, but give me a break lmao.
Some may get a joke in at these guy's but they have no clue how talented winger really is.
