This was the best damn EUC review I have seen and I watched a ton of videos since learning about these wheels a few months ago. Great job. Please do a review on the Mten3.
Hope there’s Still Time! :D I use a pretty fast road bike to commute. I live a block away from Apple Park in Cupertino and commute for 11 miles one way. Loaded with what I need, I average 17.5-18.5 mph. Also, great review! It has technical specs, live tests, and good camera work on just riding. Well done.
Well done comparison, although the conclusion surprised me--I think the King Song 18XL is the best wheel ever made. I'd never ride with the speed safety disabled anyway, so the MSX has got nothing on the 18XL. The two charging ports on the 18XL make a fast charger unnecessary. With wheels around 50 pounds, the trolley handle is an important component. No wheel beats a King Song on this feature. Even without any power, a King Song is easily wheeled around, thanks to the handle's centered, diagonal design. The 18XL fits more comfortably, without anything digging in, like on the MSX. Also the pedals, speakers, anti-spin, and reversible lights, all make the 18XL tops.
Yeah, it was a tough decision. I currently live in beijing and all the roads have bike lanes, bridges have ramps, subways have escalators, apartments have elevators, etc., so the trolley handle doesnt get used extensively. Which features you most value will ultimately determine which one is better for you.
Cannot have it all, that's just life and totally normal. Speed demons at the upper echelon only have so many choices, does not mean we must forgive GW every decision and indeed KS offer better quality, throughout design etc. But they also limit me more than I want even if that may be smart limitations to fit the majority very well. But sometimes they speak from a locked perspective by default and if we happen to talk about me and my needs we have to look perspective a lot closer to me, no? I really do value that freedom and maximum performance angle of attack over most other things if not all, other people may have very different needs and I fully respect them no problem. People respect each other, that's how the wold should work, when someone tell me what I need and do not need I suddenly wow, what I should want and do not want, what is safe for me and what is not safe for me, ohh well, then we have problem and I honestly think the problems lies not with me but.. Just a typical example, extreme as it is I am not referring to what you said just bringing up some example, I agree on th KS strong points really. But not surprised of the choice in the video, these crazy speed demons you know hehe. Heck I even like the lower quality trolley handle position of the MSX cause I do a lot of subway terrain along think crowds of people, every one lacing more respect than the next and the way of the arm bow rule down there, hence I must lead my wheel in front of me walking not at my side and it does bump into people, it is clearing my way at times and some looking at it try to avoid it so lol. To me it is better, even though actually worse for 99% of the time elsewhere
@@LitenSkada Actually, I can have it all! Although, I think you mean a single wheel can't have it all. In any case, I have a King Song KS-18XL, a GotWay MSX, and a Ninebot One Z10. Speaking from experience with all of them, I can certainly tell you what I prefer, which easily is the KS-18XL. It's up to you to decide if that information is useful. My channel has about 90 wheel videos. Your channel has none, so I can't see in action whichever one you prefer.

Hey Kuji, in your opinion which wheel should i get between the msx or the new ks16x? Both wheel are capable of 30mph and off road riding so I'm having a hard time deciding. My ride would be 60/40 street and offroad ride.
Great video, many people knock Gotway but they are the company that is pushing the boundaries while the others follow. The MSX is still the benchmark machine that the rest try to beat.
+Kuji Rolls Hi, is there any possibility that You would add to such comparision other wheels, like InMotion V10f or Ninebot Z10? Maybe also adding minimal turning radius without scratching pads? And maybe a slalom comparision/feeling like in V10f video (in 3:22 there) Thanks
Great Review! I think you can't go wrong with either wheel. But if you have both, you will notice the issues with the MSX more. MSX takes the top speed (safety disabled) and having a barely usable seat. The edges our the MSX on every other comparison - top speed if you enable safety on both wheels, trolley handle, optional bigger pedals, ergonomics no pinch point on the leg (MSX boxy), makes you a better rider, more nimble (feel at one with the wheel, not fighting it), front/back headlights, 4x bluetooth speakers(none on MSX), lift cutoff handle, two USB ports, 2 charging ports for total of 10A dual fast charging.
Yeah, you cant go wrong with either. One thing i would like to mention is that i dont agree with 10A charging without modifications. Yes, the Kingsong ports can handle 5A each, but the wires cant. Theres only one set of wires that come from the charging port and its the same ~16AWG cables that Gotway uses.
@@eddiemoy Sure, i think its probably fine most of the time, but you're just adding more risk. Gotway and Kingsong both dont support fast charging and the only way to get one is to use a 3rd party charger. I thought suggesting 5A was irresponsible enough.
Kuji Rolls KS themselves commented that the max charge supported on their 18L/XL was 10 amps. It isn’t all that much current if you look at 6 parallel packs, it is just 1.6amps per pack. This is only 0.47C. Hardly an issue. Slightly more on the 4 parallel packs of the 18L, 2.5amps per pack and 0.715C.
@@eddiemoy I absolutely agree with you on a per-cell level. The problem is that they are all lumped together. If theres a failure, you dont want to additionally feed it with an additional 840W coming from the charger. That gets very hot, very quickly. 420W is also above what they recommend... but the point is that house fires are very serious sins that will seriously hurt not only the companies, but the whole industry. Think Hoverboard.
Man I love your videos. Seriously good energy and very informative. Totally love the side by side comparison @3:23. I might use that in future videos. Love it love it love it. Keep it up man. Can’t wait to see the next part P.S I came to the same conclusion you did between the MSX and the 18XL in terms of performance in my XL first impression video.
Ooph. Id say that the V10F is suited more for casual commuters who prioritize comfort (also who dont ride in the rain... Those rubber pedals will get you). The MSX is like a turbo charged SUV. Its a little sluggish, but once you get cranking on it, it just keeps giving you more power. The MSX is tuned for performance without convenience. If you are a new rider, id recommend starting off limiting your speed to 30kph (20mph) for at least a few months. These higher speeds are not safe for those who dont know what falls are like.
@@mtvpartyboy007 Me too. I actually favor the ks18xl but our mountain roads are horrible. We also have a lot of trails up here, (Northern California Sierras). I don't wan't the ninebot because of it's tendency to track itself in ruts. Something we have a lot of here.
Hey ! How are you ? Thanks for great vidéo ! I have a Tesla 1020w. PERHAPS, I am looking to buy an MSX but I hesitate between the 84V and 100V. I know that this topic has already been treated and I read all these elements but I confess to lose myself a little. For my personal use I would like to make the right choice and search: - Vivacity (I come from a tesla so I like responsiveness). Why ? When I'm on the road in Paris, it's important to have a recovery. A 14 inch is a bit small even if nervous because my size 193cm, 87kg is complicated. What do you think ? - High speed for when I walk on weekends Basically, what would be the best wheel for the city AND walk ? Thanks a lot :)
Hey Kevin! The difference between the MSX 84V vs 100V is that the 100V has a little higher top speed (~70kph vs 60kph) and the the 84V has a little more torque and range (more batteries in parallel). The Tesla has a better trolley handle than the MSX which makes walking with the Tesla easier. Every wheel makes a bunch of compromises and there's really no "best" wheel at everything. i.e. A bigger wheel is better at bumps, but is slower at accelerating and less agile. A bigger battery gives more torque/range but is heavier. In terms of the MSX 84V vs MSX 100V vs Tesla... Top speed? MSX 100V. Range? MSX 84V. Turning? MSX. Agility? Tesla. Acceleration? Depends. Walkability? Tesla. Bumps? MSX.
Hey Kuji, What do think about the Gotway Monster? I really like that one because it's big, and when you sit down on the seat that's provided it's not that low to the ground.
It's big, comfy, stable, but not so agile. If youre a sitter, then the Monster might be a good choice. At 70kg, wielding the Monster takes some effort and will result in slower acceleration/braking/turning.
The Asian, Tom Cruz I, do like the MSX as well, I have the 84v version, the pedals are a little slanty for me but with low cut sneaker type motorcycle boots with ankle pads built in helps alot from getting the palsy effect. I actually like the mock carbon fiber look, especially after spraying it down with some Lucas interior cleaner, great product that doesn't leave a slick shine just enough though.Good review !
Great video, but you didn’t mention the wider tire on the MSX. Does it offer any advantages over the 18XL’s thinner tire? Also, I think you can travel more miles on the MSX before it limits speed at 15% battery life. Does the 18XL do the same?
I wouldnt say that the width of the tire has as much to do with it as the vertical thickness of the tire. The extra thick bouncy tire allows you to ride at lower air pressures without getting pinch flats. I think the KS starts speed technically starts throttling the top speed at 20% battery which depends on how you ride, because if its -5C outside and you ride very aggressively, youll start getting throttling at ~40% because the battery voltage will drop with large current draw.
The Kingsong 18XL and the Gotway MSuper X too fast for beginners. The V10F is better suited for first time riders having something a little slower, very stable, and way overpowered like the V10F. I think people often get too comfortable with speed before they really understand the consequences of what bailing at 25+ mph can do no matter how prepared you are for it. Oh and so much worse when you arent.
I agree, great review. You did not say whether th MSX was 100v or 84v. In other comparison tests the 84v MSX with 1600Wh battery had a greater range than the Kingsong and also revealed that the Kingsong app is over optimistic by 30% in range tests. It's true that Gotway give the owner more responsibility when setting the wheel but I think that's a good thing. Having manufacturers setting limits bring there own problems. Here in Scotland during the winter I found that the 3" tyre works much better in soft wet grass and mud.
Youre right, i forgot to mention that i was riding with the 84V MSX. Ill add the detail in the description. Regarding the 3" vs 2.5" tire... im not so convinced its the tire width as much as the pedal response. Id love to compare a 3" Kingsong vs a 3" Gotway
Kuji Rolls Could you please explain to me why you say the MSuper X has more power than the Kingsong 18XL because im a bit confused. the Kingsong has 2200 Watts and the MSuper X Has only 2000 Watts
I dont think those power ratings arent the most accurate number. I never formally measured the current or torque, but from my riding experience, the MSX feels more torquey.
One very important thing you left out is reliability! Kingsong is the like a Honda or Toyota we’re the MSX is more like a Ford Mustang very fast but as a result has a lot of problems with overheating. Don’t get me wrong I love speed but at what cost. Other then that I liked the side by side video footage, nice job!
I don’t know Honda’s or Toyota’s failure rates either but they have proven reliable. between experience and other peoples feedback kingsong has proven reliable. I’m not saying MSX is bad it’s just less reliable. I know this to be true because I own both and yes I’m having wires melting together on the MSX!
When you compared range did you rely on the respective apps ? I am asking because KS app is known to be not accurate at all. A third party gps app should be used to verify actual range of both wheels
I drained the batteries most the way to the point of getting speed limited (tilting from KS, beeping from GW) and extrapolated the rest from the reported battery life from the apps.
Im using just a point and shoot camera (Canon G7X). Music is found by crawling soundcloud. The rest of my "graphics" and editing magic is done with Final Cut Pro
It was a bad diy pad design compared to what I did on the msx. I would use 5mm neoprene sheets and the inmotion v10f pads stuck together with good double sided tape.
@@KujiRolls Absolutely dead on, too bad so many still cannot seem to figure out such a easy to understand concept, and grown ups too, I know very chocking indeed. MSX here, no problem admitting the better quality of the XL, trolley and just a more thought through product imho. It is a bit shameful of Gotway trying to charge the same $ when still lacking development, research and development side, I mean let's not pretend it's that expensive to design a new improved control board these days with so much cheap, readily available talent all over, and the soldering still look flat out nasty opening the wheels form GW. But with all these negatives aside, they have improved a lot, they do give me the freedom to go only by 80% warning which quite frankly still keep me upright and must admit personal responsibility do work if brain is flipped on and fully engaged. It is more powerful, faster there is nothign to argue about here it's just a fact. So yeah I still choose GW too, but the day KS give me maximum performance and ability to to be fully in charge of my wheel myself , well that's the day I move to camp KS hands down. GW need to compete and keep improving, that or KS still keep refusing me what I want and I suspect every speed demon out there wish for, that will determine if staying or abandoning a brand. I also cannot and do not want to keep 3-4 wheels around so will own 1, possibly 2 at a time.
Wobble when braking is inevitable: T ~ sqrt(L/g), g is increased during braking, L is the height of pedals. It means breaking demands the rider to react & balance the wheel faster.
I prefer 18XL due to its convenience. I not use EUC for racing, just use for city traveling around so lift up cut off and trolley handle is the most important. Also for long ride, comfortable is important factor over top speed and acceleration
I just got a Kingsong 18XL, and I'm on day 2 of trying to learn it. I feel like I may have screwed myself because it's so heavy and large that any action that isn't assisted by the wheel is just that much more physically demanding. I can ride along a fence to grab onto, but that's about it. Anything else and I fall over within a couple of feet. It's much too big to do the "pivot in place" exercise, and the practice rolling mount-and-dismount is difficult. I can't say whether it's more difficult than a 14 or 16 inch wheel would be, since I have no other experience, but it certainly feels harder than the videos make it look. Also the motor kill switch fails *CONSTANTLY.* I can't count how many times the wheel has suddenly just gone out of control while I'm holding it by the handle. Yes, in only the 2 days I've owned the wheel. One of the flaws of the kill switch being software-controlled, IMO. There really needs to be a hardware killswitch that you can't bump accidentally, but either cuts all power to the wheel or locks the motor in place so it won't move.
2 years on, I feel like I should add an addendum here: It took me 5 days, over the course of a month, to learn how to ride, but since then the 18XL is great, and I see why it's an often-recommended beginner wheel. Plenty of speed and range without breaking the bank, and it's still useful after you've gotten away from the "learning" phase. Get some spiked pedals.
I have learned on a solowheel glide 3. And I’ve become obsessed lol. All I wanna do is glide. Gonna upgrade once I can afford it And I’m def liking the 16x .. thanks for all the vids .. indulging my obsession. 👍🏼
@@joshuajones6113 bad trolley handle, lack of no-spin button (biggest killer), bigger, heavier, lack of mud guard out of the box (seriously why is this a thing). I trolley around my wheel quite a lot and I carry it up&down stairs a lot too. V10F also can kinda be parked (not very stable but good enough for home) which is a significant + for me.
Edit: just saw, best run of 5. Haha Original: You can't base speed and braking off one test. You need multiple tests, then take the average. :P Also it looked like you leaned forward further on the X. If you use eucguy's side pads, you'd get even faster acceleration. :)

1:46 i literally felt like my heart shook when he fell
Hey ! How are you ? Thanks for great vidéo ! I have a Tesla 1020w. PERHAPS, I am looking to buy an MSX but I hesitate between the 84V and 100V. I know that this topic has already been treated and I read all these elements but I confess to lose myself a little.
For my personal use I would like to make the right choice and search:
- Vivacity (I come from a tesla so I like responsiveness). Why ? When I'm on the road in Paris, it's important to have a recovery. A 14 inch is a bit small even if nervous because my size 193cm, 87kg is complicated. What do you think ?
- High speed for when I walk on weekends
Basically, what would be the best wheel for the city AND walk ?
Tesla. Bumps? MSX.
Great review! A friend has the Kingsong - it has a nasty whine. Does the MSX whine as well?
Yes, but much less. The msx is hardly noticible even in quiet environments
@@KujiRolls Thank You for the info.
Hey what pads are you using on the MSX? They definitely are NOT stock.
You're right. I made them out of neoprene sheets
How would you compare those weels to inmotion v10f? Great review thought.
Great video, great music.
Good video. Thank you for the good work.
Kudos for showing us your fall
Great review! Absolutly love your videos and cant wait for the next one! Does this mean we'll be seeing more from you this year too? :O
Yep, sure does. I'm still slow at pumping out content though. Need to get more efficient at this.
Nice video bro :)
With all do respect, i dont think you know the failure rates of the MSX. Gotway has vastly improved their overheating problems with this model.
@@KujiRolls I agree, my MSX has never overheated and I haven't even heard a story of it happening.
Do the LEDs in the MsX indicate battery life?
On the rear brake light theres 5 LEDs that show the battery life by 20% increments.
What kind of video equipment are you using and how do you do editing (music, graphics, side by side comparison)?
Im using just a point and shoot camera (Canon G7X). Music is found by crawling soundcloud. The rest of my "graphics" and editing magic is done with Final Cut Pro
Can you get your hands on a gotway Monster?? I'd like to see that compared to the King Song. It's the better version of the Msuper.
What did you use to make those XL side pads on the MSX ?
It was a bad diy pad design compared to what I did on the msx. I would use 5mm neoprene sheets and the inmotion v10f pads stuck together with good double sided tape.
Thanks, I'm a fan your videos are so damn entertaining ,I wish they where longer.
@@bretholtzman1524 yeah, the thing holding me back is my video editing workflow. I've been rapidly improving recently.
hey...what about Segway Ninebot and Inmotion.........?
.....they're trash
Adam Loomis of montesano Washington twelve miles of were grunge started. Please enter me in that droning. Again great video
I liked your videos you are not brand fan boy. So its so good 👏👏👏😎
No unicycle is best at everything
I also cannot and do not want to keep 3-4 wheels around so will own 1, possibly 2 at a time.
yo kuji, do electric skateboards!awesome content and editing!
ill have to learn to not suck at skateboarding.
Imagine seeing this dude in the parking going the speed of light
15 hrs recharge?
Very nice. Now when do they arrive on my doorstep?
Depends on where you buy them from
I have a kingsong 14s, and an inmotion v10f. Despite the better agility in the ks, I usually use the v10f. So similar opinions here.
You mention you get around 100km city range on Kingsong. What average speed is that?
my cruising average was around 45kph (28mph) with fairly aggressive braking and acceleration.
Kuji Rolls that's pretty fast. And so much range still. Nice
Kingsong is more city user friendly I reckon also.
that's interesting, thank you. Pity that the handle on the Gotway is uncomfortable-> more unstable when you roll the wheel .
Wobble when braking is inevitable: T ~ sqrt(L/g), g is increased during braking, L is the height of pedals. It means breaking demands the rider to react & balance the wheel faster.
That was faster than I thought!
Excelent video. Tanks.
I prefer 18XL due to its convenience. I not use EUC for racing, just use for city traveling around so lift up cut off and trolley handle is the most important. Also for long ride, comfortable is important factor over top speed and acceleration
True that. The handle on the MSX is garbage.
@@KujiRolls I have the MSuper V3... it's garbage on that too.
Subscribed! :D
On video when you don't actually stop I have trouble knowing if you just slow down or what.
Msuper x or should I wait and get the new ks16x?????? Help!!!!
Depends! They're both great options. If this is your first wheel, the 16X.
I have learned on a solowheel glide 3. And I’ve become obsessed lol. All I wanna do is glide. Gonna upgrade once I can afford it And I’m def liking the 16x .. thanks for all the vids .. indulging my obsession. 👍🏼
the pedals "nice and tight" is why I fell in love with MSX. But's too inconvenient so I got V10F.
Curious. Why was it inconvenient?
@@joshuajones6113 bad trolley handle, lack of no-spin button (biggest killer), bigger, heavier, lack of mud guard out of the box (seriously why is this a thing). I trolley around my wheel quite a lot and I carry it up&down stairs a lot too. V10F also can kinda be parked (not very stable but good enough for home) which is a significant + for me.
@@Ubeogesh Awesome, thank you!
Amazing!
Riding one to those things without wearing a helmet is not very smart. Good thing you put one on during speed test toward the end.
You ride hard man ;D
yeah, never without protection.
Try ninebot z10 please :D
i tripped at the license plate at 5:43
Edit: just saw, best run of 5. Haha
Original: You can't base speed and braking off one test. You need multiple tests, then take the average. :P Also it looked like you leaned forward further on the X. If you use eucguy's side pads, you'd get even faster acceleration. :)
I leaned as hard as i could. Both the 18XL and the MSX were near the overloading limits (and i got warnings on both)
Woah, I never got my msx to beep on acceleration. Haha crazy
Kuji got that good hair
yeah, all asians get it.
hi and i have the gotway and its the 84w with 18inch wheel...it fast enough i guess but yrt to do more than 40 kp
h and its all about getting your feet way ahead of where you actually want them ..maybe goofy with the xtra long shoes would fare better omg..are an experienced rider and my next wheel will be a kingsong anyway and these things are getting out of control now and fast is not everything as you know...i have a lhotz 16 that is nice to cruise around on and looks sweet...and my 84v one has nothing like the grunt of the 100w model after studying the uphill offroard vids etc cheers from new zealand where we are feather lite in numbers and i would be one of 20 riders in wellington and thats a statement..feels good to be different and have pasted many many thousands of walkers and have had 1 or 2 negs...this place is a euc heaven...i feel for you lot
Yknow what would be great. If you could give me one of them electric unicycles
You do realize this is like asking for one of my children. This are my babies.
I'll give you one if you give me $1800 plus shipping. XD
I'm terrified for you...but I want one!
4:40 don't do that
Cool!
I honestly think that the 18 xl is better for all efforts that does not do the MSX GOTWAY for the same price GOTWAY is cheap and not very well finished is almost inadmissible! GOTWAY wake up !!!!!!
1:44 That was great!!!
ah the minisegway only goes 10mph but it stops on the dime, it will just skip/skid a bit
all good
check out skateboard griptapes for the extra grip
I need this please
who was totally surprised
msx for ever
why dont you have more support? where are the rest the Gotway fanbois?
Kuji Rolls real male choose MSX!
LGBT choice - KS! Coz need useless usb holes, SUPER dumb and useless sound speakers.
Finally an extra dumb KS feature - gay's both way head light!
MSX for block head man that nothing but speed in thier mind and die fast
Rex ReguM no problem, take family trailer, I'll take a muscule car!..
Vadim Andronov You dont have MSX I swear. Did you know MSX also have Useless USB port?
Just look at it and enjoy MSX in your imagine.
Have a sweet dream!
