Marty Music Marty! Your channel is amazing. I've been teaching myself guitar for about a year now and just stumbled into your channel recently. Every time I want to learn a song you've already uploaded a full lesson for that specific song and it's perfect. Lessons are great too. You really break it down and make it easy to understand! Keep up the good work! Thnx
I have to thank you, I started playing guitar about 5 months ago so I could ask my girlfriend to prom, I picked an easy song and I figured I would drop it after I was done but your videos kept me going, I am so glad I stumbled onto your channel, keep up the good work!
Roy's songs were like little symphonies. He was a song craftsman, as were many in this greatest era of pop music. The Beatles and Stones are a prime example. Later, Bruce Springsteen took Roy Orbison's influence to heart and became one of the greatest writers of pop rock. Songs in those days and much of the 60's were musical mini-stories, done in three minutes or less so they'd make the radio. And the bridge was a most important ingredient in putting the song's performance across. Things have changed, haven't they? Great lesson on an iconic song.
Hi Marty,i just wanted to send a huge thank you to you for all the guitar lessons you put up via your websites bro.I'v learnt how to play a few songs now and i appreciate you being the man who has taught me how to play a few songs on my guitar,i'm absolutely enjoying the lessons and i'm loving my 6 string like she ain't never been loved before.Nothin but love bro.Cheers NIKO
Dude hands down your one of the best I've ever seen on RUclips that does guitar lessons.... Good production, clear speech, and accurate on how you play songs.... I've been playing a long time myself and it's nice I hear a song that idk how to play and I'll look it up on here and if I see your face I click on it. Thanks man. I know it's work figuring out someone else's music, but your hard work makes it easier on all of us lazy people lol
Yes! I don't know why, but I had just added this song to my Spotify playlist for nostalgia and here comes your upload. Now I can play it myself. Keep up the good work Marty! Thanks for putting in the efforts.
Hey Marty just sending you out a boatload of thanks and holiday cheer I have been rocking with you since 2013 you have taught me so much and you have elevated my guitar playing and you have me now playing songs that I could only dream of ever being able to play. I really want to thank you for the bottom of my heart. Happy holidays. ❤️❤️❤️🎸🎸🎶
After about 10 times of listening to it and trying to get the counts right on the transition from D to E, I thought, "maybe I should check You Tube to see if Marty has a lesson on this." You did, and thank you, you cleared it right up for me.
Real sweet lesson Marty. Maybe some time you could cover some of the old instrumental guitar classics like Wipe Out, Walk Don't Run, Rumble, Theme from Hawaii 5-0, Ghost Riders in the Sky etc. Have an awesome summer Marty!
love the instrumental stuff too ray but, I don't think we'll get Miserlou though...after all, Jimi said, on Third Stone from the Sun "You'll never hear surf music again."
Sprite Suzi, I fear you are right, but there is some hope, Marty has a "Surf Green" Strat, perfect for Miserlou. Marty could start a surf music revival!
2:21 - if you watch Roy’s playing he uses his thumb for the f#m and adds in 2nd fret with index on the g&b string. I find it sounds richer like that. 🤘
hi just wanted to say thank you for your lessons, i've been looking at these people and not understanding anything but you have helped me out a lot, thank you!
Hey Marty, Jaron here! I would greatly appreciate your help learning these fun songs.(same as usual) 1. Clutch - Cyborg Bett 2. Bob Dylan - House Carpenter 3. The Cars - You Might Think 4. Red Fang - Wires 5. Crash Test Dummies - Afternoons and Coffeespoons 6. The Donnas - Who Invited You 7. Franz Ferdinand - Katherine Kiss Me 8. Jethro Tull - Mother Goose (How can you not love this song?) 9. Jim Croce - I got a name 10. Lou Reed - This Magic Moment 11. NOFX - Linoleum 12. Paul Simon - Gumboots / Paranoia Blues 13. Rev Horton Heat - Baby, I’m Drunk 14. Sublime - What happened? Looking forward to seeing you teach a few of these songs. Much Appreciated!
Could you please do a lesson on the solo in Chris Stapleton's new song "I Was Wrong". I cannot find a lesson anywhere and I've been looking for a couple months. Thank you!
Marty, I've been following you for years.....you are so talented and so kind for sharing your talent. And I realize that you have to make money....however, you post so many lessons for free.....thank you...thank you...and thank you.....and you are a "cool" character....be well my friend....
Great lesson Marty. I have request. John Fogerty: Centerfield. I found a good video of the opening riff but not the entire song. Anyway, just an idea. Thanks for all the great lessons over the years.
Marty, what is the electric guitar featured in the BB Box Blues Guitar Lesson - How to Play Lead - Scales, Techniques ? Its absolutely gorgeous and sounds spectacular !!!
Hey, awesome lesson Marty, thank you for adding! What would be great for beginners is to use the closed captioning to put the chords down, even when you're not speaking them. It would help greatly - especially if people want to mute to follow along and listen to their own guitar. Just a thought - thanks again!
Hey, I recently started relearning guitar through you. Your videos are awesome! There's just one thing that's always confused me: when you watch guitarists play they seem to do a combination of picking and strumming. How do you know when to pick or strum all the strings together. When I first learned chords, I always had to strum all the strings together. Could you straighten this out for me? Thanks a bunch!
Marty, I would love a finger picking and strumming tutorial on "Kate McCannon" by Colter Wall, such a good song. One other person has covered it on youtube but alas..he is not you. Thanks for teaching and taking requests.
I play the E as an E7. Sounds better I think. I also simply put my pointer finger down in the second fret of the D, G, and B strings while muting the open E with my thumb instead of one finger for each on the A chord, which makes the transition to F#m a lot easier as well.
I'd really love to see a lesson on purple rain and I love prince and I'd love to have a lesson on it if it's not a problem with u dude and I appreciate all of the hard work u do your the best teacher ever on the tube I really mean that u take ur time with it to make sure we get it right and u take ur time and show us every little detail I love that the others leave out a lot of details but you don't and I live that and appreciate it and I learn a lot thru your stuff and all the lessons and I learn almost all songs I know have been thru u man and I like to write songs of my own too i appreciate all the hard work u do for us every man I really want to say thank u dude I really love this lesson keep it up I been subbed to this channel and gutiarjamz for awhile dude but I really wanna say thank u man I appreciate it and I hope to see a lesson on purple rain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
