I too am a dealer for Axis, Milestone and have landed on Dahua. I moved to be competitive.
I am looking to put a PTZ on top of a very high pole. I see you demonstrated a Dahua PTZ in another video. Are you confident in the Dahua PTZ cameras and have you had compatibility issues with xprotect?

I'm on the same ship, I've had so many failures with Axis over the past 2-years (parts, service and general business practices) that I had to make a change. When I started looking, I found that I can deliver a better product to my clients at a lower price (significantly). I don't have any long term experience yet, but with a 5-years warranty I expect them to be more robust than the products I've been going back on so many service calls. I'm in the process of putting six PTZ's (4 lasers and 2 uprights) of them in, several that need lifts. They work with xProtect just as well as Axis. Although they are a bit goofy with their web interface - I'm sure I thought that about Axis years ago too. lol

I also am a dealer for both Axis and Dahua. We were saying many of the exact same things in the office just yesterday. What is up with that plastic sun shade thing that is just clipped on there? I would be interested to see the comparative footage from the Axis.

That was my intention, but we had nasty weather that prevented me from getting that footage. The P1447 was for a client site and I had to install it before I could get the video done. Sorry. My general take on it is that some scenes the Axis looked better and some the Dahua looked better. More specifically, I couldn't tell you that one was better than the other in regards to image quality. :)

@Eu Eu That's subjective, but I would say no. Dahua is cheaper, has a longer warranty (5 years) and are much easier to work with. Axis is a good product, but it comes with a high price tag and Axis is quick to dismiss the small customers on both the client and dealers side of things. At least in my experience.

I have a couple of videos that do show them side-by-side. This one and the PTZ video show clips side-by-side. The PTZ shows the Axis top-dog ptz vs. Dahua PTZ ruclips.net/video/4NFieDvJkFU/видео.html
