This was incredibly fun and like Suvi, I cried multiple times LOL! I was surprised no Pas De Deux, but honestly, I think we all love that one so it was nice to see other aspects and see them appreciated.

I loved hearing your enthusiasm. I love the Nutcracker. Agree it is difficult to choose a favorite part. And tears are so very understandable. Some moments in life are forever and unique... impossible to replicate.

This was really great to see it through yours and Suvi's eyes as professional dancers. I also got emotional as I just adore this music and can't even imagine how difficult it is to dance some of these parts! Wow! The costumes were absolutely fantastic too!

I enjoyed this so much, thanks ladies! Lovely to get your insights and your personal stories of your experiences with this ballet. Tchaikovsky is my absolute favourite composer, all of his waltzes touch my heart every time! I can't imagine how wonderful it must be to dance with the live orchestras playing!
I appreciated Suvi's tears. I've not been able to cry properly for a while and it helped me have a bit of a cry and let some of the pain out. 💗

I enjoyed hearing your thoughts and “ behind the scenes “ information. I was introduced to Nutcracker as a student at Boston Ballet and I’ve loved it ever since. The music is just glorious! Thx for sharing

OMG I think I cried too when they brought me to see the nutcracker almost 40 years later I'm still pretty new to the ballet scene and was wondering if there's a specific Don Q season?

Nutcracker season is so magical and wintery! As far as my experience with American ballet companies, Don Q doesn't have a specific season. It is usually part of a company's season of shows running from January to May where they'll select a few ballets to perform that year (example: Swan Lake, Balanchine's Jewels, a new contemporary ballet or two, Don Q). It feels more spring/summery to me so putting it at the end of the season in May before summer hiatus makes sense to me, but I don't think it matters like having Nutcracker at Christmas.

@@colleenrawson8477 huh that's when I remember first hearing about the novel in school along with midsummer nights dream, I didn't even know there was a summer hiatus in ballet and I agree on putting it at the end of the season of such an interesting industry, out of curiosity when do you feel Giselle should be put on?

Love watching your choices for what you love about the Nutcracker version you danced. Question, do they not use “snow”? Every version I am familiar with has snow falling (such a pain to deal with as a dancer). Seems more like a white ballet corps than what I think of as Snow. Favorite part from this is the March from the first act. So fun and so much more dancing from many Nutcrackers. And the coda was very impressive and again a different version from what I am used to! This was fun seeing your favorites parts of an iconic ballet. Would love to see you do this for other classics (think Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake).

Is there symbolism in ballet and if so what are the mice about or snowflakes? And when was the last time Suvi danced sugar plum fairy, that's my favorite part?

Love your energy with Suvi!!!I especially think the snow part was my favorite because it's so enchanted. Love that you showcase your own dancing too, it's so fun to see how yourself grown from different performances. Did everyone get to participate in the Nutcracker in VB or through selection? And did you received private training for the main roles and then go through the rehearsal?

With all due respect, why do not you choose pa de deux ? By the purity, psychological profoundness this is an absolute climax of the ballet. By the the heartiness and melodical expression it could only be compared with andante of the first part of 6th symphony.

We decided to choose other parts that we also love that aren’t highlighted as much. Suvi chose the coda as that’s a lovely part as well ❤ we love the whole of the Nutcracker of course. We watch it all fondly and I agree the pas is glorious
