Even though I never met Patrice, he's been an influential presence in my life. His words of wisdom about any subject he spoke on would be like no other words I'd ever heard before. He could make sense of anything and do it so beautifully that i realized one day that he was helping to shape the way I see the world today. I try to not get sad thinking about how much we lost when he died, because there are so many things since that i would love to hear what he would've said about it.
It's so strange and uncomfortable hearing Patrice talk about his mortality like this, even if he's being funny you can tell he's channeling his real feelings into the humor, which makes it really dark now, after Patrice shuffled off the mortal coil. I hope he's happier, wherever he is! RIP Patrice
“Shuffled off the immortal coil” is probably the absolute best wording I’ve heard when it comes to this topic and I will always remember this term coined.
I know the feeling. I felt like I got sucker-punched in the stomach when I first heard. I've never felt that for any celebrity ever. He's a one of a kind.
My favorite Patrice clip on O and A... Once maybe twice a year I come back to it for whatever reason instead of listening to "creep". Then how it ends on Nick "He's a mess!" lol.
He could have had more than he got if he didn't burn bridges like he did. People around him made it seem like he would go out of his way to fuck with people and said he was hard to work with.
He explains burning the bridges though, he didn't want to be owned because that's when they start telling you that you can't say certain things and restricting you. He didn't get into comedy to be owned. There's no way around it. &I agree with you though, I wish he was a household name but I think he did it right. His fanbase still grows and he was able to leave his impressions and ideas on almost everyone that listened. He stayed true to himself and didn't sell out for anyone. His brutal honesty was strangely satisfyingly even when it clashed against your own morals or beliefs. He was a master of his craft and left behind a legacy. Actor, Comedian, pussy slayer...etc. The man did it.
So fun to listen to Patrice and Anthony pull Lil Opie out of yet another AWKWARD moment . I used to hate hearing those but RIP Patrice , great one. :XD
Patrice does that to People, because Oatrice is so forward it allows other to follow with confidence. You find a handful of people in your own life like that.
This is so tragically funny. I mean, yeah I didn't know Patrice, and he probably wouldn't even like me, but this still makes me sad. He was so funny, and he died too early. That's just it. It's fucking sad and funny at the same time to hear him talk like this.
***** well thats a shame, I know O and A and radio affiliate dont get any money for me listening to these youtube videos but I just spent the past few days listening too many of the videos of the times Patrice was on, and have no desire to ever listen to any of the non Patrice O and A stuff. I suppose the value was purely promotional, Patrice 'immortalized' his 'ideals' by using the radio program, and got whatever little personal promotion from its listeners that came from the live listeners of the broadcasts, and the radio show got an interesting, for a time, semi regular guest, which had intrinsic value, and which at least a non trivial percentage of the listeners enjoyed. Its just a bummer all the precious content, and I know this is why they kept saying 'write a book, write a book', that he flung out there in these recordings, that in my opinion are more worthy and valueable of being heard then a large percentage of 'opinions' and books that exist in 'the market place'. Blah blah blah.
Crazy shit,it happens to us mens a lot of times we work thru pain and sacrifice and overlook our well being.Patrice has made my life so much better.Wish I had his lessons years ago but it’s all good
He is saying black people are more prone to poor health habits leading to diabetes etc so they live shorter lives. It's backed up by statistics, with black men having significantly shorter life expediencies than white men.
he would have lived alot longer going vegan. such a shame to lose such a talent cause he couldnt stop to eat all that shit meat, fish, eggs and dairy :(
+CM Novian why are you scared of vegans. he's just saying he loved Patrice as we all do, and would have liked him to live longer and feel happier with a good diet
Patrice was a pro. He stood for comedy, he had an interview at comedy central for a show and just ripped them for putting mind of mencia on tv the whole time. He could have been aries spears huge in the madtv days but he wouldnt sell out! Him and giraldo were pros R.I.P.
i don't think he would have survived for much longer, even while going vegan. it's like smoking for decades and then quitting, you are still probably gonna get cancer soon
actually that's where you're wrong. science shows that the effect is ridiculously fast, we're talking a few weeks here. RUclips "Uprooting the leading causes of death". and for smoking, after 10 years without smoke the person gets down with pretty much to the same risk of lung cancer than someone who has never smoked. pretty sure the same video mentions it, but make sure to watch this year's talk which features a whole section on the link with the tobacco industry : nutritionfacts.org/video/food-as-medicine/
Yo Patrice your legacy is cemented my dude

He was protecting the earth from modern day lunacy
well said.
"I really just wanna sit down, and have an opinion about anything" this lets you know Patrice would have had a god-tier podcast in 2022
I hate he wasn’t here for Trump and to hear him and Anthony go at it.
whenever he talks about "when i die..." on the old O&A shows, a feeling of sadness hits you...but his genius will live on.
RIP, Patrice
"I feel like you don't like me."
"So what...."
Patrice's 5/6th Life Crisis
Holy shit! Yeah can't call it a mid life crisis any more because we know how long he lived. Jesus Christ that is painfully funny.
CHIP!

“Shuffled off the immortal coil” is probably the absolute best wording I’ve heard when it comes to this topic and I will always remember this term coined.
"the year went by, and I lived it. I lived day by day, the 365 days" God bless Patrice. You'll be missed.
Damn man I hate hearing Patrice talk about himself dying. I don't know how it's possible to miss someone I never met, but I really do.
This video and Patrice singing Howling Wolf's song leave you with a lingering sadness.
Patrice changed my life
Miss you Patrice. Just funny. All the time.
RIP. YOU ARE MISSED.
I miss patrice
I think we all take these O&A clips as sacred transcripts of Patrice's wisdom
You're not a likable person." LOL
Patrice made a legacy to those who matter he's a legend. I'm always bringing him up
14:20 Patrice starts talking about his own mortality and death.
Son... Patrice was a god among men. Fucking A he deserved more than he got.
He could have had more than he got if he didn't burn bridges like he did. People around him made it seem like he would go out of his way to fuck with people and said he was hard to work with.
rocking195 That's understandable. He had that type of personality. Sad nonetheless.

Listening to this is hard. Considering how his family treated his girl when he passed.
It’s insane to think he’s been dead for over a decade. 👑

‘Fux no nigga!’ Bahahahahah
love Patrice!!! so sad that I didnt appreciate him till he passed. SHAME ON ME!
So sad to hear him talk about thinking about death.. Patrice was my favorite one on O&A
You gotta put quotes on "mid life"
Rest in Peace big man.
All these comics who are famous RN couldn’t hold a candle to Patrice in terms of insight OR funny. He is sorely missed. At least we still have Norm!
🥲
10:23 if I live forever.
Miss you
Patrice was a genius
Does anyone notice opie is funnier and less rigid when Patrice is in studio?
Patrice does that to People, because Oatrice is so forward it allows other to follow with confidence.
You find a handful of people in your own life like that.
@Damon Verial,
The intro song is "Scentless Apprentice" by Nirvana
Impressed you could recognize the song through that quality
@@paulthoresen8241 melody transcends.
Who's choppin onions?
timekeeper20ARC who’s chippin em? Tss tss
Who's pickina banjo here?
So sad. I love Patrice.
That man died 18 days later
what a great mind, for only living to 14...
Google "Patrice Oneal gay pimp". All I know is that I gotta see that movie now just for him. I cant believe he did that shit! I am in tears!
He had a mid-life crisis one year before he died!
That Lammumba guy is much with funny.
Patrice really did leave a great legacy
I wonder when this was recorded, it is posted 1 day after he died.
This is one of the sadder O&A talks I've heard
love their comments about diapolo at the end
Patrice's midlife crisis happened around 1990.
Wish he was still around.
Nirvana intro!!
RIP Patrice
What's the song at the intro?
Patrice would hate the way the world ended up
15:40 window story.
I have a cucumber, ginger cinnamon and lemon or kale and carrot smoothie every day plus I eat plenty of meat cooked
Technically... and I mean TECHNICALLY this was his late life crisis.
Technically yes if you do the black to white life ratio
18:27 Opie carelessly reveals his inner woman. Everyone is embarrassed for him. Uncomfortable
Actually, as it turned out, Patrice's "midlife" was when he was 21.
I'm pretty sure patrice would have laughed his ass off if he read this :D
In terms of acting, Patrice could have gotten similar roles to Anthony Anderson. They sort of look alike and can play serious or comedic characters.
damn, I guess I'm having my midlife crisis and I'm 31
35 now. Did you get an Uzi?
Pft, pathetic.
I had mine at 28😂
This is so tragically funny. I mean, yeah I didn't know Patrice, and he probably wouldn't even like me, but this still makes me sad. He was so funny, and he died too early. That's just it. It's fucking sad and funny at the same time to hear him talk like this.

3:50 referring to Opie
19:50 Nick's is a nasty man .... * patrice's cartman laugh *
This is why I didn't go raw foods. I wanted to, but it seemed like such a pain in the ass.
Did Patrice get paid reasonably every time he went on this show?
***** well thats a shame, I know O and A and radio affiliate dont get any money for me listening to these youtube videos but I just spent the past few days listening too many of the videos of the times Patrice was on, and have no desire to ever listen to any of the non Patrice O and A stuff. When he was in for Jimmy, but he built up an amazing fan base off of his appearances, so I suppose you can say it paid for itself
Damn right and when you think, Opie can't even read without messing up and he's a millionaire. Patrice was gold.
Jax T he never got paid for that either.
cjxked12 ppartially patrices fault lets be real here.
I wonder what his last thoughts were when he wasn't able to talk due to the stroke.
Technically, his mid life crisis was when he was in early 20's.
Why?

holy shit....was he wearing a one piece bathing suit!?......ctfu
Why is Patrice saying that he's way much older than White people in his age? Is that some sort of a stereotype? Can anyone explain?
He is saying black people are more prone to poor health habits leading to diabetes etc so they live shorter lives. It's backed up by statistics, with black men having significantly shorter life expediencies than white men.
Chris Rock made a whole joke about that, I think it was in Never Scared
This show wouldn't be shit without Patrice with a exception of jimmy

I don't think you like me.
So what? You're not likable.
This is the funniest guy, Jesus.
@THEBASEDBOB Hahahaha! That's fucking great.
@TheEricleeparker Haha!
I keep watching more and more o&a videos and I keep realizing that opie isn’t funny
why the fuck is this so loud, God damn......
