    Just came from the gun store and it followed me home. He had a great selection of CZ’s, but said the PCR that I purchased was only the second one he’d received this year. Couldn’t be happier. Great review, appreciate the effort.

    I chose this for my everyday carry gun (Vedder Holster Kydex...rocks). Built like a tank. Spot on accurate because of weight and low bore axis. Balaced and accurate...wow. I replaced the control rod (OEM is polymer) with a steel one from Cajun Gunworks. Also replaced the firing pin with an extended pin from CZ Custom, the pin block spring which cleans up the trigger even further and the firing pin retaining pin with a rolled pin also from CZ Custom (DON’T do the solid pin option...voids your firing pin warranty). There is talk of problems with fractures in the firing pin retaining pin, but so far so good and they cost $2 to replace. Keep a couple handy...don’t dry fire without snap caps.. Per the video, it is one tight gun. Prefer a lobster claw to rack as overhand can be hit or miss. Requires a modicum of violence...lol. My wife can barely rack it at all, but it cycles fast and furious under fire. And did I mention it was accurate (last trip to the range 30 rounds centert (ish...my wife fit her fist through the hole) out of 30 rounds at 7 yards w/ tactical reload). Double tap center mass to head drills...30 rounds at 5 yards...3 shot bursts from low ready w tactical reloads with PAR times set at 3 seconds...no misses, no malfunctions. It’s heavy for a carry, especially if you like those guns made out of the stuff they make tic tac boxes out of...but man does it help with recoil control. That low bore axis...brilliant...damn. Get you some. You’ll totally freak out the spray and pray Glock kids with their Nathan’s hot dog length extended magazines.

    Easiest way to pull back the slide on a CZ 75 Series pistol. Instead of pulling straight back on the serrations put downward pressure on the serrations and pull back. If you use overhand rack that same downward pressure makes it easier.

    I have the LCP Max which is a great pocket pistol but not great at the range because of its trigger pinch. I have a Kel Tec P11 which is a very good gun but again not much fun at the range. I just bought the PCR and in addition to being EDC in the winter, I wanted a great range shooting pistol. I will take it to the range this week. So far I love its feel and fit in my hand. Smooth trigger pull and just really good looking.

    I love this pistol. I would suggest making a change in how you manipulate the slide. Turn your left hand over and grab the slide between your palm and four fingers. Not only do you have much more strength doing this, but the motion is much more fluid as well

  • @tomarmstrong4761
    @tomarmstrong4761 Год назад

    The first pistol of what I've taken to calling "my modern era" is a CZ P10F. It was a great re-introduction to pistol shooting, as I didn't feel ready to tackle the "DA mode vs SA mode" thought process at the time. My P10F was followed in short order by a P10S and a SigSauer P365XL, following some recommendations from a trusted acquaintance on carry handguns, then the first N+1 handgun, then the second N+1 handgun (both M&P products), then a P10C, then a P07 (because I was ready to try the DA/SA "thing"), then a great deal on a P09 with a RDS.
    But there was still an itch. Trying to figure out the reason for that itch took time, but part of it was that, while I found I really liked the DA/SA trigger for carrying with "one in the pipe," I felt that something wasn't quite right for me with the P07 as an EDC piece.
    Oddly enough, I was also prompted to look at the 75-series by a holster that appeared in my inventory, as the P-07 didn't want to go into the holster, and I was wondering about the different trigger guard of the 75 series.
    I looked at the P-01, the P-01 Omega, and a couple other pistols from other manufacturers, but found I liked the combination of the sights and the decocker of the PCR enough better than what I was seeing on the P-01 and P-01 Omega to not worry about the lack of rail on the dust cover. I have found my EDC of choice!
    Because most of my pistols are CZ products, and (I guess) because I have relatively strong hands, I have no trouble racking the slides on any of the CZ pistols I've encountered. I also recognize that my experience doesn't "scale."
    I'm not one to do a lot of customization of handguns, for a variety of reasons. My P10C has a non-stock mag release, just because the Apex Tactical mag release button works better *for me* than the "old-style" ambidextrous one. My P10-variants have the large back straps installed because they fit my hands better that way, but it's the back straps that came with the pistols. The bedside P-09 has a RDS and a light because, well, it's a bedside piece.
    But, should I "lose" my carry piece over needing to use that piece to defend myself, I can buy another that will work as well without having to spend even more money with CGW or another provider of aftermarket parts.

    Great firearm. Mine sports grips from Cajun gun works, and a new front sight. Found a leather holster on eBay. The dang thing shoots straight and has little muzzle flip and reduced recoil due to the lowed bore axis. Extra mags are spendy, but worth it.

      @Dave there's a spot inside the lower half of the pistol that doesn't have that black coating on it. Not really necessary to have it there. Just thought it was weird that they do that on all their pcr series. Might be a way to tell them apart at the factory. Idk

    edc my pcr in an iwb holster from Tommy Theis. Hybrid holster with adjustable height and cant --- great workmanship. I also changed out my grips for thinner G10's even though I loved the feel of the stock rubber grips. Just that my cover garment would hang up on those rubber grips in light clothing (summer) weather. Tru-glo sights on too and now I don't think I can find a better carry gun. Spoiled by CZ.

    The PCR is fantastic. Excellent choice! Remember to keep the dry firing to a minimum (or use a snap cap when you do), because the firing pin's retaining pin broke on mine after a few thousand dry fires (bummer &= my fault). Same goes for any hammer fired gun actually. Up until that though, zero malfunctions and often hit the bullseye (I'm average at best). Cajun Gun Works's defensive carry package supposedly makes this gun even better. Thanks for the video.

  • @jimc7022
    @jimc7022 3 года назад

    The single action is not a 6lb pull. Mine is 3lbs on single action. The double for mine is 11 lbs but you never use the double. After racking you use the decocker which drops the hammer to half-cock. The half-cock is what has the 6-7 lb pull. There is really never a scenario where you would fire this pistol from the full double. You would have to rack a round into the chamber then, being unsafe, would need to ignore the decocker and thumb down the hammer while pulling the trigger. The pistol is meant to be carried in half-cock which give you a 6 half double 1st pull then a wonderful 3lb single follow up. After a few years my PCR has really broken in nice. Very smooth action. Single action trigger is 2.7 lbs and the slide is much easier to manipulate. CZ really benefit from breaking in. Of all my pistols my CZ’s change the most with break-in.
