I’m a single mom with no partner, no family, no help and limited funds. On top of the my son is autistic. I make it work. No drugs, no alcohol…listening to her complain about her and her wealthy husband not having help was painful and disgusting. She’s gross. I’m so tired of addicts getting a pass.

I was a criminal defense attorney and a prosecutor for many years. I handled hundreds of DUIs. I want people to understand how drunk she was. I have never handled a case where the blood alcohol concentration was above .20. Most humans would be vomiting and/or passing out. The danger she put her children in is next level. I cannot believe they dropped the child abuse and resisting arrest. Very unjust, the kids deserve better protection than this and wouldn't have been dropped for the average person. And completely sober, she takes zero responsibility.

If Hope was in recovery, she would consider that night a GREAT Life saving night. Not the worst night of her life. Expressed gratitude to the Police later for saving her life. Her addiction (not caused by being a mother or a pandemic) was stopped in it's tracks when she was found passed out drunk in a Walmart parking lot with her 2 little children. She could have been found in a 3 car pile up.

Her husband has been jailed for dui. To be jailed for it in the US means you have to have done something really awful.
The police have been called out on Domestic Violence reports on the couple several times.
She has been arrested for violence a number of times, including for physically assaulting her nephew, who was a child. When the police arrived, she was screaming at him that he was "fat" and "useless". Once she was handcuffed she screamed that he should be very afraid of her and how she'd hurt him once she was no longer handcuffed. A child under 10 years.

I don’t understand where the idea that to be jailed for DUI in the US means you did something really awful. It depends on the state, they’re all different. My state is pretty tough on DUI, some aren’t. Her case is so much more than DUI though, she had little children with her plus a myriad of other BS she said and tried to pull. What a disgusting person, I couldn’t imagine driving a vehicle in that condition with my little kids in the car.

@@armurph1102 Car was on for over an hour with her seat belt on she passed out she wasn't napping, people reported it because it was strange, nothing was done other than ask questions until there was a reasonable suspicion that she was intoxicated don't see where constitutional rights were violated (edited to mention that it was likely Walmart employees that reported it)

It was the "worst night of her life" because she was caught. I heard no being upset at potentially killing the kids, or how she may have killed others, or even how she treated the cops. Worse yet, what if some sleezeball would've recognized her as a wealthy celebrity, and taken her and her kids as hostages for ransom, or just to rob her ATM account, then kill everyone afterwards. Honestly, I didnt who she was until the very end of the video. I thought she was just some drunken Karen. I didn't know who she was until they arrived at the jail, when an employee there recognized her and told the arresting officer who she was. Obviously he didn't even realize who she was either.

She did not come from the Walmart. Which all means she drove to the parking lot. Drove. Drove with the kids in the car. At any point when she was driving, actually driving, those kids were in a clear and present danger. Meaning she could have had an accident and they could have died. Died because she had been driving that night while intoxicated. Which is why she received a charge for child abuse. She was charged with driving while intoxicated. Not parked while intoxicated.

@@SubliminallyMischievous This is true that's why if I've ever gone to a bar and don't feel safe to drive home I lock my keys in my trunk or toss them in the back toolbox of my truck because if they are in your pocket that's access and they could still try and charge you with DWI in NC. I also wont sleep in the drivers seat either just to eliminate any and all excuses they could possibly come up with for intent to drive under the influence. Thankfully I never go to bars anymore so I don't have to bother with any of that nonsense.
With that said I've had police make contact with me many times in the past asleep in my vehicle in a bar parking lot and they always thank for me for not drinking and driving and offer to drive by every once in a while to make sure I'm still ok throughout the night. Of course that's probably more so to insure I didn't drive off drunk but, whatever. lol

The only thing I'll say this is that she was parked in the parking lot. So the kids weren't in danger at that time. Having saying this though she wasn't bright to begin with to have her kids in the car while being intoxicated and being behind the wheel. Regardless if the car was parked.

As a recovering addict and mother, all I heard was excuses, not so much accountability.. “i loved drinking, it was the best part of my day. I did it cuz i have no help” is a weird thing to say. Honestly, these folks are lucky that they aren’t charged with attempted manslaughter for driving drunk with children..

It is not amazing to sleep off a drunken state in a parking lot with kids in the backseat of a running vehicle. She may be famous, but famous people can still be held accountable especially when kids are involved. I heard she got real help, and that is good for her and her family. Can't believe they dropped the child abuse charges, driving while that intoxicated and on drugs, with two small children is disgraceful and shocking.
Not to mention how long she had been parked before the cops came as well as how long it took for her blood to get drawn, so she was DRIVING with a much higher blood alcohol content than the 0.244 that was documented.
Usually if it’s a first time charge they keep the charges basic and plea it out. It saves everybody time and it saves the community time from having to take something like this to trial which would cost way more money and probably have a less effective conclusion in a situation like this.
Alcohol is a drug, tired of hearing intoxicated and on drugs, for all we know she smoked the day before, and either way alcohol is a hard drug in my eyes

As a mother of 2 daughters, I had to stop watching this video at 6:53 because I couldn't listen to the babies cry anymore. How does she not feel compelled to tend to her babies when they are crying? The fact that the police officer was totally ignoring the babies crying made me so mad!!!!!!!! I have 0 tolerance for Mothers that ignore their babies! I don't know what happened to her but I hope she gets help before caring for her children.

She’s in rehab. After the legal case is concluded it’s usually arranged that if found guilty then she would apologize but usually the lawyer apologizes for them in form of a letter.

I'm always puzzeled when people talk about raising their kids without a support system and just the two of them and all that, what the hell do they think people used to do, pass them around the hollar until it was your turn again? You are the parents, you raise the kids, that's you entire job and no, there are no days off, kids don't disappear on the weekend so you can have 2 days off then start fresh on Monday! Yes most people do have some help with their kids, grandparents and friends or others can give a much needed break when you need one but for those who don't have anyone, you just put on your big girl panties and do what needs to be done. She acts like being a parent and doing her job gives her a right to do dumb stuff and treat people like crap or like they're beneath her, like she told the officer that he was lucky to be graced with her presence?!
