On the album, this song is a complete phrasing masterpiece from Captain Fingers himself! This video did not disappoint. The flow and feel of this tune are at least a top 5 in my book.
I think his leads on the studio album are WAY better than what he plays here. This one was a bit messy and less intricate than the original. Also thought he chose the wrong pickup configuration/effect pedal sound at the start of his lead. I still love his playing style...he is so smooth...
@@mellowjammer Got to agree with you here. The studio version is a masterpiece. Lee plays it like a singing conversation, if that makes sense. His very best, I.M.O.
One of my favorite fusion unison lines of all time to open and close this one. It’s up there with 4m40s in the live So Long Mickey Mouse by Return to Forever.
Thank you for this awesome video!! One of the best tune Lee has ever written! Was this originally recorded with the guys from Yellowjackets? Who played in this video? Dave Grusin on keyboards? Vinnie Collaiuta on Drums? who's playing the bass?
The "chorus" sounds like something toto did on the Dune soundtrack. Vinnie is a little bit over the top. Doing a bit too much on the drums I think.Amazing track anyway.

何年ぶりだろ?30年ぶりくらいで聴いた。
I still think this guy is one of the more underrated guitar players. The buy is amazing...
Guy......lol

I think it is Russel Ferrante who wrote this, and yes it was recorded with Ferrante, Haslip and Kennedy. Don't know the guy on the bass here...
Tim Landers play bass on this show, but the tune was originally played by Jimmy Haslip on the album.
@@ferdian1977 Ha, thanks! I have never seen him live, but very much like his playing with the Crimson Jazz Trio!
이차돈 생각나는..White Water
Yep, on the album the solo is masterful, but Rit's guitar is not mixed way out front so it's also powerfully subtle.
The two dislikes must be tone-deaf.
