Gold Bond update: I saw the new product, tight & firm, on Amazon and checked ingredients for urea ✅ I order big bottles of my faves 1-2x a year. So I got a 14 oz crepe corrector & an 8 oz Tight & Firm. lol I received tight & firm this week. 😂 it’s Crepe Corrector until stealth-21, so prob 95% identical? But ofc could you still look at it & explain if it is different functionally? I’m not bothered, winter is here for my skin (the frost is on the pumpkin), so there’s never too much Gold Bond with urea (unless retinol)! But I am curious and glad to see the nice packaging. Dr Dray, I think you changed Gold Bond! They’re working within their current brand aesthetic, lol I like their frugality, but oooh they have seen the hype & Tight + Firm is cute! They probably realized that 37 yr olds don’t buy crepey skin products, but they are interested in the actual function of this ingredient set! I just tested Tight vs Crepe, very slight texture difference, I think maybe Crepe is more occlusive & Tight goes deeper? Can’t wait to find out if I’m right or 180 degrees confused 😂 btw why didn’t you tell us you’ve got a joint PhD/MD? You’re a molecular biologist too!
I love Dr Dray’s consistency and reliability in her recommendations. She is not fooled by prestige brands and price points. Smart shopping can lead to an effective skin care routine that won’t break the bank.
I agree 100% with you!! I watch other dermatologist on RUclips and they are all over the place with skincare product recommendations, it gives me a headache! Dr. Dray is the only dermatologist I will listen to and follow her advice. Her knowledge and expertise is spot on! It just goes to show you that you can purchase drugstore skincare products/brands that actually work and are comparable to high end, overpriced and skincare products.
Thank you Dr. Dray for not forgetting the over 40 crowd with this video. I am in my 60s and struggle with Rosacea. Trying to find a nightime routine that calms my face and also helps with firmness and fine lines has been challenging for me. This video answers some of those questions. Could you do a video about aging skin with Rosacea using drugstore products? I appreciate your knowledge about skincare and breaking down all the scientific jargon so we all can understand.
Have you checked some of her rosacea/redness videos including one she did about a month ago? Dr. Sam Ellis, who has rosacea, has also done rosacea care videos.
Honesty I feel like her channel as a whole is geared more towards a mature audience, especially given her own experience as a woman in her forties. She seems more knowledgeable about mature/dry skin to me than younger oily skin.
She said that walgreens overprices things. She literally just said, the regular price for GB Crepe cream at other places is the same as Walgreens dupe price of $10.99. In other words, walgreens is overpriced on both real product and their dupes. Find better prices at Wally or other places.
Dr. Dray, I've noticed that more products are now disclosing their niacinamide percentages, which is fantastic! Brands like Beauty of Joseon and Elta MD are doing this. Thank you so much for your informative videos!!!☺️
I love that you went to an actual drugstore like Walgreens for your video, I hate it when people do videos about skin care and makeup that they call drugstore based on price but you can't get it in the drugstore. Thanks 👍
As a German born in the mid 70s most of us basically grew up on Nivea cream 😂. Not only for moisturising face, hands and body, bot also after minor accidents as a scraped knee. So the scent really is essential because it brings back fond memories of childhood for many. The la mer comparisons I heard always say that the creams are very similar, minus the marine contents which the nivea obviously doesn’t have.
I love the original Nivea cream, the scent is unique! Nobody can mimic it or copy it 😀 I also grew up using it. And only buy the ones that are made in Germany! Those that are made in Mexico are not even close and their quality is bad!
It's nothing like lamer 😅absolutely nothing lamer has like 26 extra amazing ingredients that nivea dosent so stop lying it's way more than just sea juice!
I can’t stand LaMer. It’s so hard to spread, and sits like Vaseline on my skin. My skin is dry, but LaMer is just too much for it, and it just doesn’t absorb.
Dr.Drae, thank you once again for providing such excellent advice. I have been following you since 2019. You have no idea how you have saved my skin. Thank you for always giving such good realistic advice.😊
Ugh yes!!! A dr who actually understands my peri menopause skin itch! It gets so bad it feels like bugs are biting me & crawling on me sometimes. And yes it absolutely robs me of sleep when it’s bad. 😢
Always appreciate you taking us shopping and showing us what's new. I can't afford to shop in Walgreens anymore but I know most of these products can be found elsewhere for a cheaper price. Thanks so much, as always. I really value your opinion on products and shop accordingly. Happy Monday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a peaceful evening. ❤
Thanks for the shopping tips, Dr. Dray! I know you're not a fan of topical vitamin C, BUT I've discovered that Timeless vitamin C + E ferulic acid is absolutely AMAZING! I had purchased the Timeless Coenzyme Q10 in the past and enjoyed it, but their vitamin C has made a HUGE difference in the health of my skin; it glows without being shiny and I constantly get compliments. I highly recommend that you give it a try and perhaps a review. Thanks for all you do!
She did a video on Timeless vitamin C and their co-q10 about a year or two ago. I started using both based on her reviews and I have been getting the same results as you.
It's not available at physical drugstores here in Houston, but Nivea makes a fantastic Visage Daily Essentials Tinted Sunscreen that I routinely use instead of foundation. It's only SPF 15, so I apply it over mineral sunscreen as a foundation. Only $9 for a tube that lasts longer than a year. Great stuff, spreadable, looks natural (but not much spf).
Dr. Dray, Thank you so much, we cant say that enough. You're such a grounded, funny, and just all around a national treasure to all us who follow you. I just got the Goldbond Retinol Body Lotion as I'd wanted some more anti aging for the body. I'm so glad to hear it gets your recommendation.
I am actually finding out Amazon is much cheaper on these types of products than Walmart or target and I don’t need someone to unlock the case. The sad reality is the shoplifting markup is driving business away from stores and onto the internet.
You have to be careful what you order on Amazon. Sometimes 3rd party sellers aren’t selling you the real thing OR sending you returned items/expired products.
I’m 48 with rosacea and sensitive skin. I love La Roche Posay Gentle Cleanser. I switch up my night care routine. I wash my face with the above cleanser, use Soolantra (Rx for Rosacea) and Cerave Moisturizer. The other night I use the same cleanser, Differin, and Olay Regenerist. I rinse my face in the morning and I apply moisturizer and then sunscreen. I can’t use serums. They are so irritating to my skin and look like I have a nasty sunburn. All the best to everyone!!!!
Same with me! 3 products top... At night, Makeup remover, moisturiser and a serum. I can't deal with the hassle because to me it leads to lack of consistency. 40 and simple 😊
I hear ya. I loved The Ordinary cuz of single ingredients but not so much now. I started using Pura d'or Vitamin C serum cuz it's got 8 great ingredients all at once. That, plus a moisturizer plus a sunscreen > done!
Oh I have to second the Cetaphil Redness Relieving Tinted Moisturizer spf 40 recommendation! It goes on creamy but not greasy and is not at all irritating for me, despite my sensitive skin; I can even put it on around the eyes. My skin is light with warm undertones. Once it is dry, I always follow it up with a higher SPF sunscreen - lately I'm using a lot of Korean ones because they're also not irritating, even the chemical ones.
I swear Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion is the ONLY lotion I can tolerate that won't make me itch like crazy with my atopic dermatitis. I've tried Eucerin, CeraVe, Cetaphil, etc. etc and they ALL make me itch. Also, I really believe it's helped my skin elasticity. I'll be looking for that Coconut one!
Ha ha, I was literally looking at that Palmer’s body butter in my Amazon cart when she started to talk about it! It’s on sale if anyone wants to try it.
I have rosacea type 2 and it has cleared using Walgreen's otc Ivermectin 0.5% lotion for $35 for 4 ounces. I couldn't afford the $600/month prescription Soolantra which has the same active medicine. Thank goodness for the Walgreen's version!!
There's a 1% generic of Soolantra, was only $8 with my insurance, it's worth checking with your provider and your insurance 🤷🏼♀️ cheaper than the $30 tiny prosacea OTC I was using before
Agreed I've been looking at stuff when I get a 30% off and L'Oreal is trying to charge $40/ounce for regenerist, meanwhile I can just get a more effective result with Rx tret 🤷🏼♀️
As a long time fan of you I always take your advice as pretty much gospel and accurate. However I went to a derm in my home country to treat some sebaceous hyperplasia spots on my face since you mention Electrodessication can be used for this, but he refused to do anything. The only advice he gave was to use Roaccutane to shrink the oil glands. This however is not an option due to all the side effects and that the spots are not that big or anything.
Thanks so much for pointing out the drug store dupes are the same price as name brand anywhere else. Drug stores mark their prices up so much! You can get name brand for cheaper than their dupes at Amazon or Target any day of the week.
So many good options! Thanks for taking us along, Dr. Dray! I would like a product that has peptides, licorice root, Niacinimide, & Azalic acid all in one!! 😊❤
CATHERINE from Georgia Here! Thank you for all you do! Recently window shopping in the village of HIGHLANDS, NC. I was accosted by a young lady pushing expensive face creams. She had me in a chair so fast my head was spinning a bit. She put this stem cell cream around eye to tighten up lines? I did not let her put on my right eye for comparison. (CbGARDEN/Bio-Restorative Cream). I did not purchase but took sample packet. DH tried the cream for slight bags under his eyes. We both felt a bit of tightness. Back at room I examined the eye area with cream and it was crusty and flaking up!? I washed it right off. DH had similar flaking reaction. LESSON Learned: Be Careful Out There! I am lucky reactions not worse. I usually try product on my forearm to test before putting on my face. OH and I like the COSRX Face Snail Cream!
Hi Jackie! Happy Monday!! I hope your day was fantastic and that you are well. We had a terrible storm come out of nowhere while I was at work. Torrential rain with strong winds. I could see on my weather app that where I live was also going to get hit and I had left all of my windows open. I fully expected to come home to something soaking wet but by some miracle nothing was! So thankful for that. It's very humid here now. I sure would love it if you and Miss Fancy Pants would join me and my kitties for tea and kitty cuddles. Let's put up our feet and relax while enjoying our precious fur babies. I hope you have a lovely evening. Sweet dreams. Peace, joy and many blessings to you always. 💚🙏💚🕊💚☕🐈☕🐈💚🐾🐾🌻💚
A few years ago I heard DrD say we should double cleanse. Ever since then I don't really care which cleanser I use, the coconut oil I use as the first 'cleanse' is a fantastic barrier.
The only thing I didn’t like about Jergens Natural Glow is the smell. It was perfumey and sometimes gave me a headache. I had a small travel size and always had to keep it cap up so it wouldn’t overflow when opened. Thank you for all the other suggestions!
So Amazon has this supposed "new" Gold Bond lotion. It says Age Renew Tight and Firm Body and Face Lotion. I'm thinking it's like the "crepe corrector". It has the urea in it high on the list. I'm very curious about it. I haven't tried the Gold Bond Medicated Body Lotion but I have Sarna's version and I must say it feels sooooo good. Right now I'm pretty satisfied with Neutrogena Hydro Boost Body Lotion fragrance free version. Surprises me because I'm not a fan of Neutrogena at all. 🤣I have used Amlactin's Daily Exfoliator 12%. Works great the first day but I feel like the moisture was sucked out of my legs the next day.
Thank you so much Dr. Dray. I just searched your channel this morning for CeraVe skin renewing night cream. I was interested in it (finally!) where have I been? Your fan, Molly
Great recommendations, thanks Dr. Dray I definitely need some help for my dark spots, I can’t seem to be able to get rid of them with adapaline and glycolic acid, hopefully I can find something to help me with that skin concern.
I Love AmLactin. I’ve been using it for a year after I shower, and my skin, especially on my legs, is soft, healthy, and all signs of crepey skin are gone. This stuff is pure gold.
I am heading into my 40s soon and realized that I need to start a good skin routine - started to see signs of age on my skin. I have celiac and always try to use gluten free products that go anywhere near my mouth. I use vanicream products because they are easy to find, affordable, and clearly label gluten free. They did not have everything I want to build up my routine though. Do you have recommendations for a retinoid (or something similar) that is affordable and gluten free?
I use Amlactin at night. I have noticed crepey chest skin on older female family members and it has made me vigilant with the sunscreen. I love the Jergen’s Glow on my super pale legs during summer
Since Walgreens bought Boots, they now have the full line of No 7 skincare. They have several claims about proprietary formulas, Im curious to know what you think about them.
Please, please, please do a drugstore skincare for Hidradenitis suppurativa. Every dermo that I have asked has no answer for me. Not everything can be handled with prescription care. There aren't many reputable resources besides other patient experiences.
Interesting can translate to some extent outside the US. Nice post Dr. Dray- most online derms cut off skincare & solutions especially for those over 60. As if old ppl shld not look good or have skin problems given my older brother and his wife are sliced up EVERY year bc of sun damage caused by sun burn 50 years ago theres definately a niche in need of help and suggestions.
Do you have a skincare routine for women over 60? I’m finally feeling better after a long illness and want to start taking care of my skin. I have no idea where to start, although I’d like to incorporate snail mucin and neutrogena rapid repair cream. There’s so many things at the drugstore I don’t know where to start. 🤷🏼♀️
Something I noticed is that everything has niacinamide in it, which is something I’m very much allergic to. It can be hard to shop for things as a simple moisturizer.
Hi there doc, love your videos, by the way I used the kerasal cream on my heels and my skin is peeling like crazy. I was so scared I did not know what was happening. My heels are looking better. 😊
Hi Dr. Dray! I was thinking it would be a good idea to start making a Q&A series. Would help tons of us who have small questions and requests get a response from a trustworthy content creator! What do you think about trifarotene?
PSA: #1- Dr Dray, you are awesome! #2- the Nivea body lotion with Q10 and vitamin C is excellent! Goes on easily (lots of slip) and hydrates for hours! :-)
Sorry but Adapalene alone did nothing for my teens. Prescriptions from the Derm arc Epiduo ,(adapalene with benzoyl peroxide) , along with clyndamyacin topical serum and minocylclin for 9 months worked wonders. Spf and lots of la Roche posay everyday products. It changes skin ❤ and way cheaper than buying differen gel or any other otc formulas . 5.00 each Rx and the la Roche posay products we buy are always on specials.
Dr. Dray, I am 74 and I get blemish’s across my forehead mostly. These bumps are small and don’t look like milia…they are just bumps that never turn into a pimple. I do wash my face morning and night. I’ve been using the oil of Olay dupes for skin care. I only apply my sunscreen daily. I exfoliate twice a week. Any suggestions on why I’m getting these bumps on my forehead? Thank you so much! I love you and your videos!
I use the Loreal Glycolic Cleanser in the tube. Works very well for this problem. I used to get them on the sides of my face and they are almost gone. I use it once a day.
I use the generic version of CereVe's Acne Face Wash with 2% Salicylic Acid and the bumps on my forehead, similar to those you described, all went away once I added in the 2% Salicylic Acid wash into my skincare regimine with continued use (took ~ 4-6 mo. to get full results). I've always tried to take really good care of my skin, but this is the first time in my life (@ 60) that my skin has been this clear -- it's so awesome!
I use Kiels moisturizer because it's pretty consistently good on my face. But it's been feeling heavy lately as I'm aging and hormones are changing. Also... the price. 😮 I tried drugstore moisturizer and It was Also really heavy and broke me out. Tried another and it broke me out. I'd there a sensitive drugstore moisturizer thats good for breakouts. Otherwise I don't get them. Breakouts aren't normal for me.

Hi Dr Dray so excited to be here i live for this❤️
Morning!
Happy Monday- way over 40 here but always great to have these resources! 💜💜💜
Happy monday!
The Nivea in the blue tin has become my holy grail for my face!! It has been someone kept exczema at bay. Thank you for talking about this one.
So many good options! Thanks for taking us along, Dr. Dray! I would like a product that has peptides, licorice root, Niacinimide, & Azalic acid all in one!! 😊❤
Omegas!!! Dr Dray always has more ideas for skincare spa-ing. :P -- Us older ladies are watching!
Awesome derm content 👍
Also great advice for us men over 40!
Happy Monday Dr Dray!! Loved This Video!! Thank You for Taking Us Along!! Have a Wonderful Day and Week!!❤
Greetings Jackie Marsh hope u r well n Happy Monday😀👍💜….
@whitneybrown4067 Happy Monday my Friend!! Have a Fabulous Day and Week!! Many Blessings Always!!🙏💜💜💜💜🙏
Am 69 yo. I am always able to pull out helpful info from your vids. ♥️
They changed the aroma of this cream. It used to be so much worse and stronger so I can deal with it now.
Thank you for sharing your amazing/kind brain with us!Always so helpful 😊
Oh im coming to the States next week now i have more items on my shopping list, thank you Dr Dray x
My photo album of ALL of doc's recommended products is so helpful. Adding more now! 👍🏼
I love how many brands Walgreens carries!
People need a loan to go to Walgreens! Maybe that can turn around next year!
yes, their prices have gone up so much
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 STG right!?
Thank you for another, informative, enjoyable video! 🥰
Same with CVS. Drug store isn’t “drug store” any longer.
Am from Kenya how can get this product am 53
Thank you so much Dr. Dray. I just searched your channel this morning for CeraVe skin renewing night cream. I was interested in it (finally!) where have I been? Your fan, Molly
Great recommendations, thanks Dr. Dray I definitely need some help for my dark spots, I can’t seem to be able to get rid of them with adapaline and glycolic acid, hopefully I can find something to help me with that skin concern.
Thank you for providing so many affordable skincare options
I Love AmLactin. I’ve been using it for a year after I shower, and my skin, especially on my legs, is soft, healthy, and all signs of crepey skin are gone. This stuff is pure gold.
Does it have a fragrance or smell strange? I’ve heard this somewhere so thought I’d ask. Thanks! 😊
I love that you did those video! Thanks for the work you put into them!
I love the Neutrogena Purescreen Mineral UV Tint. It's like a hug for my face. 😀
it is so good!
Did they ever fix the tube it is in so it does not leak everywhere? Lol
Thank you! I just learned so much! Love listening to u
I would love to see you review products from Naturium. I’m 66 and these products seem to suit me very well. I have extremely dry skin.
I started using their glycolic acid body wash. It's good.
Dr. S - Thank you. You always keep it real. Lots of good advice and various price points for OTC skin care.
I use Amlactin at night. I have noticed crepey chest skin on older female family members and it has made me vigilant with the sunscreen. I love the Jergen’s Glow on my super pale legs during summer
Let's hope your family members aren't reading this! 🤭
👱❤️
That Banana Boat Sunscreen has been my best friend since it was released. It’s just such a great affordable product.
So… how does one choose between Gold Bond crepe corrector or retinol and Amlactin? Alternate days?
Thankful you mention fragrance in products! 😊
Can you review the face serums at Marshalls or TJ Maxx
Since Walgreens bought Boots, they now have the full line of No 7 skincare. They have several claims about proprietary formulas, Im curious to know what you think about them.
Try doing a search, dr dray no7, and there should be videos.
This is awesome...would like to know what is your opinion on the necessity to use those ceramide capsules that they sell in the drugstores
Happy Monday Dr Dray…see you tomorrow x💙🤩
Please, please, please do a drugstore skincare for Hidradenitis suppurativa. Every dermo that I have asked has no answer for me. Not everything can be handled with prescription care. There aren't many reputable resources besides other patient experiences.
What do you use for keeping skin strong enough to not bruise?
Thank you for the clarification in this Video. Wasn't aware Walgreens had those products.
Thank you Doc for all your gorgeous content, you’ve helped me sooo much.🌺
thanks for watching
Could you do this for UK 🇬🇧 only brands please?
Hi Dr. Dray! I was thinking it would be a good idea to start making a Q&A series. Would help tons of us who have small questions and requests get a response from a trustworthy content creator! What do you think about trifarotene?
Dr Dray has some videos on trifarotene.
Dr Dray does Q and A on her Instagram channel. You ask questions and one day a week she selects one and answers.
@@maureengreen8695
Not on instagram. Never will be. Lol
@@maureengreen8695 alright thank you!
Which LRP products would you recommend? Thanks! 😊
have an awesome week ahead guys
The walgreens daily moisturizer, can that be used on the face too or just the body?
Thanks. Whats good for stretch marks?
This was really helpful!
Congrats LindaBenson
I’d try something with Salicylic acid. I love the cetaphil gentle wash or some SA toner
I have a question if you use adapalene for night cream can you use other creams with it?
Hello & Happy Monday, Dr. Dray ❤
Morning!
Thank you Dr Dray❤
thanks for watching
Can you use Paula’s BHA exfoliant and adapalene together?
It would be useful to see the prices on the shelf for all the products (i.e. the Vanicream dupe at 12:00) :) thank you for all your wonderful content
These products look amazing
question: if you've been using adapalene for like a year and then switched to tretinoin, will you still be experiencing tret purging?
This might be a niche question, but any recommendations for body lotions to help collagen and elasticity while on a weight loss journey?
I use Kiels moisturizer because it's pretty consistently good on my face. But it's been feeling heavy lately as I'm aging and hormones are changing. Also... the price. 😮
I tried drugstore moisturizer and It was Also really heavy and broke me out. Tried another and it broke me out. I'd there a sensitive drugstore moisturizer thats good for breakouts. Otherwise I don't get them. Breakouts aren't normal for me.
