Nice landing of the Delta 757-200 in SFO. Great trip report Xavier. Thank you for sharing this trip report.
Love the 757!
The ferrari of the skies!
It was great for it's time, but it's time is quickly passing. It was never a block buster seller other than for the major US carriers.
What borough in nyc was that in the start of the video?
I believe that was Jamaica, Queens. It was near my AirBnB
@@XavierHerndon Correct, JFK is in Jamaica, Queens
Hey, was this a morning flight? Why was dinner served?
It was a morning/afternoon flight. Delta classifies it as dinner for some reason on the reservation itself but it’s really lunch when you think about it. Transcontinental Delta One flights only serve dinner and breakfast it appears.
Hi do you know if they serve food if this flight is red eye? flying out of SFO 10 pm, landing to JFK in the am.
I assume they do? Typically red eye flights don't get typical catering for first class but I think Delta One is a bit different.
@@XavierHerndon oh they better give me foood
All D1 service regardless of departure time receive catering. Same with flights in First longer than 2300 miles leaving after 9pm (BOS-SFO in First even though its not D1 anymore)
Never a fan of DL's move to single tray service in premium cabins. They have done the same even on DL One on transatlantic. It just seems lazy. They made the change long before Covid so that wasn't the reason.
Yeah I understand. It does make the entire meal feel a bit lazy compared to some of the other airlines around the world. It might change in the future but I doubt it.
@@XavierHerndon I doubt it will change. Basically, I think DL is trying to keep the FAs happy so they don't unionize. They always roll something out to benefit them ( in this case less work) when it's looking like a real possibility they will go union. The latest move in that direction is the DL will now pay them during boarding and not just when the door closes.
they actually didn't start doing the single tray in Delta ONE until after COVID (I'm speaking transatlantic and not intracontinental...i have no idea about intracontinental). When they moved to this, they eliminated the ice cream cart and you were given a 4 oz. carton of ice cream in lieu and it was often melted by the time you got it. They also eliminated the appetizer course.
Before COVID, you got the appetizer first, then the soup/salad, then the main. Then the dessert cart.
The good news is that the dessert cart is coming back in April, 2023! Still no news as to if/when the single tray is going away and whether we'll start getting the appetizer course back. :-( Most of Asian airlines in international biz class have already gone back to multi-course service and an appetizer. Shame that Delta is so late to the game.
