All team associated cars need a support strut added that spans from the top of the front and rear differentials. That's what I did to my pro light and now it's a virtual tank. No more cracked front difs.
This truck looks super fun! I can't help laughing at the way the tires balloon lol! I know its not unique to this, it just always cracks me up! And I recently ordered a set of those turnbuckle wrenches, they are SO WORTH! Great video as always!
I have been waiting for 6 years for a company to get it right. Outkast breaks. Sledge is morre than hard to upgrade power. So. This has to be the best basher. $520...indestructible & completely upgradeable(8s). 8s outkast too expensive and fragile. Sledge 6s stuck(maybe) This can be upgraded easily, tuff with a cheap entry price to afford those upgrades. So far the most impressive one I’ve seen for 2022.
Yes I was waiting for y’all to make a video. I just got this rc half off (broken steering rack). I fixed it (thanks to y’all for parts availability) and it’s amazing. Bashes so good on 4s. 💪 it’s my first team associated rc basher and I’m hooked. TA did a great job. 👏 4s is powerful enough 48mph is plenty for bashing. combine 4s with TA reedy powered charger it’s perfect combo👍 backflips and wheelies non stop. 🔥 Thanks again great video like always AMH. Can y’all do Sketer video next? 😎 🛻 💨
Sounds like you’re having a blast with it! Did you get it second hand off someone who bought it, broke the steering rack, and was completely new to RC, so they didn’t bother fixing it? Standing backflips on 4s is no joke, the Xmaxx can’t do standing backflips, and that’s on 8s! I was just thinking of the Skeeter too, it’s actually quite similar to the MT8, when you think about it. I think Corally is a UK brand, I could be wrong though. Amain may not review/stock Corally stuff because it’s a UK brand, but I’m probably wrong, after all, they stock and review the Kyosho stuff, and I think Kyosho is a Japanese brand.
I've found that most manufacturers claim their products are 6S or 8S ready but really they seem to perform better on a lower power. I've had a 3S truck that just tore itself apart on 3S but ran much better on 2S.
put 2 mill diff fluid in the Center Differential... This will reduce the Front wheels BALLONING! Look at all the forward speed lose when it's wheeling...
I want a full-size pick-up truck that is this indestructible. I think it would also have to include an ejection seat, personal private helicopter and jet, and the most important part a new identity in case you crashed it destroying a small town or city
Thinking about getting a MT8 to compare to my Converted MGT. old vs new. I was really hoping they would have re used their original chassis. Can’t beat its design.
I love the size and weight of mine. Feels like a church if a truck. When it drove, it drive very well! But it’s broken several times. Just some parts switched out to some Redcat Kaiju. No big deal. Just don’t think you’ll be getting a ready to go super tough basher. Just not what it is ha
So they had 8.2 bulletproof platform and instead of re using it they came up with “new” one which surprisingly fits a lot of kaiju parts… ehh it’s cool and nice truck still but expected more from AE especially with their funny part support for their bathers
Common misconception - but changing to a higher voltage battery doesn't require anything to be done with connectors. Connectors and wire are sized by current, so Deans work just as well on 4S as 6S, it just depends on how much current you are trying to drive through them. At 60-80A or less they're fine, but some larger RCs may pull more. Going from 4S to 6S increases power by 50% simply by increasing the voltage (P=V*I). In larger RCs that run 10AWG wires XT90/EC5/IC5 are much nicer because soldering 10AWG wires to Deans plugs is a pain in the ass, and 10AWG generally carries more current than a T plug will support.
I can't figure out why TA would put a deans set up on a new mt rc if Dean's if such a bad connector. Why any rc companies would still be using Dean's especially when the to go connector today is XT 90s. Hobao was/is still using Dean's on their Hyper Sport Plus MT .The v1 Hyper 6s was a decent truck but the v2 looks pretty decent. I've had Team Associated RC'S and they've been really good RC'S so I'm impressed with this new truck even with the Dean's connector, and I wouldn't be afraid to run it with Dean's connectors .
I don't know if it's a running gag to actually say "Awg" when referring to the thickness of the wire but just for those who don't know, AWG stands for "American Wire Gauge."
Its mostly the Diff fluid selection + the ballooning tires, I purchased belted tires for mine. I'll save the OG tires for stunting. Then I can gear up👍🏾
Things looks pretty awesome, but why is there always at least one issue with every rtr? Why didn't they put in a 4074 2050kv or similar stock? That's a high kv and small diameter on the motor for 6s and it didn't surprise me you overheated. Tplug? Really? Why is the centerbrace not 1 peice?
No, because we didn't charge them to LiHV voltages; had we, the battery voltage would exceed the ESC capabilities. LiHV batteries can be charged and used just like a normal batteries, charged to 4.20V a cell. They don't earn their LiHV name until you charge them beyond that point. -Brett
From now on, I will NOT be buying any RC cars/trucks/boats/hovercraft/planes/puppies or take away pizzas etc that don't offer belted tires as an option! But seriously, the only reasons they sell these trucks with weak stretchy tires is because they're cheaper to manufacture, and to sell em to kids who want to show off. Yeah, and big kids too. I hate those useless tires! When I ordered my MT10 I ordered a set of belted tires the day after I drove it on 3S. Maybe I can use those stretchy tires on a rock crawler, or maybe not.
The tekno mt410 is a way better truck, although not rtr. The mt410 is a beast and while they call it 10 scale, it's using all 8 scale parts off the other tekno vehicles...
How to buy dude??Can you give us video guide or content video about how to buy+tax rc or spare in amain hobbies web, espcially buyer from others country.
The 1/10 scales version is an all around better machine. Its practically indestructible. With RPM arms its an indestructible basher. it was beaten to death by man people inckudung myself and it kept in going. I doubt the 1/8 scale can hold up to that amount of bashing.
Why would you use this thumbnail? Looks like the center diff sucks you'll have to lock it up so what's the point of the center diff. We need tires that don't Ballon for that price. I keep it real anyway

man those full speed runs through the rocks was incredibly brutal on the suspension.

Agreed! The wrenches are really nice to use.

Great video, Brett. This truck is pretty crazy, and I’d be interested in a Maxx V2 vs MT8 video, if your bored.😉
OG Maxx = MT8 in terms of wheelies. Maxx V2 > MT8 in terms of aggressive driving capabilities.

@@AMain_Hobbies Thanks man!

seems like the short wheel base coupled with the high wheel torque contributes to the constant wheelies

they should have made it longer wheelies are getting boring.

It's a neat looking truck, however I would be replacing that T plug and replacing it with an XT60 or XT90.
I bet you feel all edgy and cool changing the connectors. Especially since you had to randomly announce it.

290$ less than the sldge🤔 90$ less than the kraton. Impressive
That really puts into perspective how much of a bargain this truck is. 👍
@@CentralVAracer yup.
The manual is wrong, it's a Mod 1 pinion at stock. Not a 32pitch
Good to know! Thanks.

😅Pizzia cutter tires Returns😆😅🤣😂! Funny till it explodes on a blow -up, with crazy bashing speed!🙃😆
Time for a monster truck shoot out vid!
This is a better Kaiju 😂. Nothing wrong with that 👍👍👍👍👍
Way better and spare parts to boot
Looks like a upgraded Bangood special 🤷♂️😂
Would say say it's just too tall for 6S , there's too much air getting under the truck and lifting it?
Maybe weigh it down a bit and retest😉

32 pitch on 1/8th scale? That's a clue for me to avoid it.
Someone commented that the manual is incorrect; the pinion and spur are mod1.
-Brett
Hopefully it is mod1, even a hobao 1/10 scale 3S SCT uses mod1.
Brett you should start your own personal RUclips channel. Seems the truck could use heavier diff oil.
Check it out; my YT roots: ruclips.net/channel/UC2SseQBoUO4wG1RgpYu2RwA

looks like a fun truck
I want to see this vs the sledge.
I don't know about this one 🤔🎮🏎️ will it last sure would like to try it 🐶
Why is the mt8 only slightly faster on 6s rather than 4s? I've seen a few people test it and its barely faster on 6s and this was without wheeling.
think it could use some thicker center diff fluid. them front tires ballooning so hard.🤣
Agreed. We failed at mentioning that, but the truck could definitely benefit from thicker center fluid.
-Brett
I want this truck but is it as durable as the mt10? and I'll get new tires that's no problem
Chuck a max 6 in it if there is room for it
Great truck otherwise I'd buy
It great man 👍
The 6s and 4s are LIHV(high voltage) the esc wont fry by using them?
