Hello guys. As described, I am only concerned with an objective comparison of the capabilities of the two addons. Test.exe, malware or other topics from the past are not the topic. Please note this. I will remove any comments, as they are not effective.
@ really. And how are you coming to that conclusion? Your A320 type rating? Everyone else I’ve heard talk about it says it’s incredibly close and the fenix feels better at some points. Plus no malware with the fenix so there’s that.
3:09 The A32F wings profile is clearly visible in the slight curvature of the spoilers. This has been adressed at fslabs in their p3d version as their model has straight spoilers. Fenix is a clear model winner in terms of details.
Fenix has always been better visually and their attention to detail is great. FSL on the other hand have considerably better systems modelling. You pick your 'bus developer depending on your preferences!
Im disappointed in the community for being so childish. Guys, there is nothing to discuss here. You like one more than the other? Great. But dont start bashing each others choice. Its stupid. One enjoys fslabs for his/her reasons, the other prefers fenix. So what?
Ok one thing I noticed: The fenix textures have that grainy layer. You can observe it quite well at 6:21. Does someone know what that is? Is that maybe part of pbr textures?
Hi there. I made the Fenix livery shown here. Figured I would provide some insight on this. These are my own, independent comments; I'm not speaking on behalf of Fenix or anyone else; this is from my own experience. What you're seeing is my intentional Silver Mica paint effect. N167AN is a silver mica aircraft. When American Airlines introduced their new livery in 2013, they purposely added mica paint flakes that reflect in light to their livery (similar to paint flakes you'd see on a car paint job). They opted for this so their aircraft could continue to shine and reflect, somewhat similarly to how their previous 'bare metal' tribar livery would shine in light. Unfortunately, a mica paint layer adds weight and unnecessary complexity-especially whenever a replacement part had to be put onto the aircraft, they often didn't match and made the aircraft look in poor condition-and they've begun removing it when aircraft come in for repainting and for newer deliveries (this is called Silver-Eagle). Here's a link from American Airlines explaining it with pictures: news.aa.com/news/news-details/2021/Going-Green-with-Silver-Eagle-FLT-01/default.aspx This also highlights limitations with livery creation and texturing in general. The pixel density required to simulate individual paint flakes at the frequency I'd like would require astronomically large texture sheets that aren't possible or practical in MSFS. So, I have to have this 'grainy' mica effect that's larger than what the real-world aircraft actually has, but my philosophy when repainting is: I'd rather have the correct marking, stencil, or whatever in a slightly lower quality but true to the real-world airframe than not having it at all. Very few artists, at least that I've noticed, tend to actually include the different paint options with American Airlines. I have both the Silver Mica and Silver Eagle variants available for the Fenix.
it's surprising how little effort they put to compete in that area, fslabs systems and FM are top notch, but even with the issues the default planes have, visually the default ini A320 and 21 have them beaten by a mile
Very useful to see this comparison. I think Fenix seems like it's the better of the two, I wonder what the handling of the aircraft is like, from V1's video's I get the impression it's incredibly similar.
I’ve heard that the FENIX feels more like an airbus. It has a great feel on my controls. Not to sensitive but at the same time not too heavy. It seems to have a great fly by wire feel to it
both have things that looks better but for some reason the only things that look better on the FSlabs are things you wont look at in the flight at all, like the nose gear and runway turnoff lights look better on the FSlabs but I would never look at that in a sim. The APU inlet looks better on the FSlabs but again, never going to look at that in the sim. like what were they thinking LOL
Fenix modelling looks better, but that reskin on it looks pretty low-res and is letting it down a bit. The FSlabs reskin might be too clean, but at least it's very sharp.
Hi there. I made the Fenix livery shown here. Figured I would provide some insight on this. These are my own, independent comments; I'm not speaking on behalf of Fenix or anyone else; this is from my own experience. There are several limitations with livery making. American Airlines, along with numerous other airlines around the world, don't always follow the set 'template' Airbus (or the aircraft's manufacturer) has with their decals and warnings. Fenix does provide high-resolution decals for a 'base' Airbus template, but to accurately make an American Airlines paint, you're going to have to deviate and paint directly on the ALBD texture, which unfortunately is lower quality. Compared to most other addons, the Fenix still has a much higher resolution in these areas with their modeling and pixel density, but there are limitations with it. It's not practical to make a custom decal set for every livery-given I've made well over 100 liveries for the Fenix, and there are over 600 liveries in the livery manager-so compromises have to be made. My philosophy when repainting is: I'd rather have the correct marking, stencil, or whatever in a slightly lower quality but true to the real-world airframe than not having it at all. If you're talking about the 'effect' on the fuselage, that's intentional, and it's the mica paint that is applied on the real-world airframe. If you look up close at one of America's mica airplanes, they do have an effect similar to this, and I've recreated it and its metallic effect in light. As mentioned previously regarding ALBD pixel density, I unfortunately can't make it as small as it is on the real aircraft, as that would require an unreasonably high texture resolution. Here's an article from American Airlines explaining their mica paint and their 'silver eagle' replacement-interesting stuff! I do have several AA jets available on the Fenix in both silver eagle and silver mica paint: news.aa.com/news/news-details/2021/Going-Green-with-Silver-Eagle-FLT-01/default.aspx
Whatever level of quality FSLabs product is, their terrible culture and reputation is a huge red flag and showstopper. Never ever consider buying their products.

The Fenix is the clear winner visually. By a mile.
Not on all components; besides, the FSLabs system fidelity beats Fenix by a mile.

@@vasiliosgrekousis8192 Where is the FSL better visually like he wrote?

FSL didn't even bother to have the strobe blackout mask so the strobe didn't blind the passengers.

You should make the side to side contrast shots static for 2-3 seconds instead of using that panoramic transition and making it .5 seconds
just stop the video and use arrow keys
2:21 Both using wrong size of main wheel on an A321...
Should be 1270×455 R22 (49x18 R22)
It’s also testament to the level of detail on these aircraft that this is even a point to raise.

Even if FsLabs was a million times better i still wouldn't touch that company with a 1000ft barge pole. Fenix all the way thank you.
Its night and day difference, Fenix is definitely on the upper hand for now

2:19 FSlab close shot , Fenix long shot ,why?
No particular reason.
@MrEmbargo1985 ok , i think fenix 3d modeling and texture better
Well I won’t be getting the fslabs
why use such a mad res livery for the fenix
100% Fenix - the best dev team!!!❤
Fenix by TKO ! #Fenix4Life
The Fenix have better quality modeling,Fenix A320series have most accurate restoration of the Real A320.
Textures and 3d is better in fslabs
Ofcourse Fenix.
3D model/texture wise fenix is way better than fslab
The bit lack of wing flex on FSLabs mostly seals it for me to stick with Fenix..
fsl too late for the party
Fenix !
