Hurricane Spin Scrubber vs Turbo Scrub

- Here is my head-to-head comparison of Turbo Scrub and Hurricane Spin Scrubber. It is worth mentioning that the decision to use a NiCad battery with the Hurricane Spin Scrubber was to avoid overheating issues which sometimes affect NiMh batteries, and could lead to damage of the unit.

Well presented comparison.Definitely helped in my scrubber purchase decision.I appreciate people like you who take the time to put out honest product review vids.A helpful and practical service to the public, unlike many/most vids out there.Thank you!
I'm rewatching these because I love your videos and I am going to be cleaning 1 of my bathrooms this weekend and am looking for something like these for the job. Thanks for always being honest with your reviews 👍 👏😊
So glad you did this head-to-head review. This helped me figure out which one to buy. I appreciate you doing the work and providing an easy answer for me.
I'm so very grateful for your great video of reviews. This takes time for you to do as a service for others, how very generous thoughtful of you. You helped me decide which of these two scrubbers to buy. God bless you!
Thank you, Cat. Kind comments like yours certainly make this more enjoyable to do.
Thanks for your honest review with the video backup on the Hurricane spin scrubber. Will definitely get one.
Nice review! You made my decision much easier. Thank you!
Great review thank you I've been toying with the idea of buying one of these, you have helped 😀
Great review! Just what I needed to know. Thank you.
Thank you for this as I was going to buy the hurricane brush so it was great to see the comparison.
I ordered the turbo scrub after I viewed your video this morning. The company was very interested in info regarding your review and video. God bless you.
Just discovered your channel but I love it. Great reviews and very well put together videos. Earned a Sub :)
You officially have a new subscriber. Thank you for testing out all of these products for is. You’ve saved me a ton of money (which will make my hubby happy). 👍🏼👏🏼
Glad to you enjoy my reviews!
Thanks for your review I was JUST online researching which one to get. Your video was a definite help!
Glad I could help!
Hello - I just discovered your videos yesterday and I just love them! Thank you. I just bought the Hurricane Spin Scrubber the other day, as I had back surgery recently and want to avoid leaning over while cleaning. Haven't opened it yet, but meantime, I found your comparison websites (might have chosen the Turbo Scrub had I known!). Just by watching you use it, it seems like it'd be nice if the "extension" part was a thick as the actual handle, which might help with the wobble you mention. I hope it won't be too much of an issue, but I'll be mindful of it. Thanks for the heads up. And just found website with replaceable brushes, so I'm relieved about that. Makes the price of the item more reasonable. Thanks again for the videos. They're great!!
Thank you. I'm happy you enjoy my reviews. And I agree that the extension would probably feel more stable if it weren't so thin. Have you had a chance to use it yet? If so, what do you think of it?
Hi. Yes. I think you had more luck than I did. Whether to charge it before its first use was a bit confusing. Paperwork didn't indicate. I looked on other sites and it was difficult to find specifics. I charged it and the red light never goes off, so I've no idea really when it's fully charged, if at all. Some people said that that indicated it was a defective unit - I'm not sure. My first use was just on light dirt in the bath - a leaky tap that turned the water slightly brown. I"m very disappointed to say that it didn't really clean it off - I ended up having to use my own elbow grease to shift it - and it really was only surface dirt. The brush head jumping back and forth takes a bit of getting used to. It leans more to the right. Gripping it tighter seems to make it worse, so what works for me is to just let it go where it wants to. It may take a little longer, but for my purposes, that suits me. The extension part is, as you mentioned, a bit wobbly, but again, I just let it move itself and don't grip it too tight. Overall, I'm not a massive fan, but not having to lean over while cleaning is very helpful right now. I'll take that!!! Thank you again for your reviews - they are extremely helpful and entertaining. Cheers!
I got the Hurricane scrubber mainly preferred it because it had the bigger flat brush. I had no idea about the battery dying faster than the Turbo... great review!
I've seen a lot of review videos before I decide to buy products and this one was definitely worth writing a review of the review! 😆 Superior quality review right here, and I have no question I'm gonna go with the ScrubTastic. Thanks!
Thanks, this really helped me make up my mind about purchasing, Turbo it is!
James, I really enjoy your videos! You're quite informative & seem like a hoot! 😁What kind of moving lights do you have going on in this video??? Sorry I'm late but I'm just catching up on my RUclips watching.😊
Ty for the review, you aided in my decision 🙌🏼
This review was extremely helpful and pivotal in my decision. I canceled the Hurricane for Turbo, because of the battery life. Thank you.
Thanks! You're reviews were so helpful. I do wish you could've elaborated more on the difference of cost regarding these two. However, I just subscribed to your channel and will definitely be watching you in the future for info! Thanks again! :)
Hi Missy, and you are correct that I failed to mention the cost! Currently, they are both about $40 in stores. Thank you for your input!
Thank you! Very helpful. You are doing an invaluable service!
Thank you Lori.
Great job on video. Very well done and clear. Thank you!
Don't forget your rubber gloves and eye protection, as suggested in manual.

I'm glad you don't use music in your reviews anymore
love your honest reviews
Thanks. I always go to your reviews when I want an honest one.
Great review - thank you!
Great review, I was thinking about the hurricane scrub before seeing this video. While I plan to get the Turbo Scrub I do have a question to ask you. Can either unit, Hurricane Scrub or Turbo Scrub, be used while being charged?
I'm glad to see this, good info
Thanks for the battery comparison. Good and useful review
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful!
But how durable are they? I would love to see an update about how long either one lasts before it falls apart or stops working.
yes like a phone battery life is important , so I would def get the turbo scrub , awesome comparison review cause that's just what I wanted to know was battery life on them
Thanks, you answered my question about the batteries used...agree that NiMh are far superior. Very informative and helped my decision between the two.
Hello, I just discovered your video channel about activ brush. They are very interesting. They are concrete and objective. I think one thing is to take into account the hardness of the water and the degree of fouling. For an elderly or disabled person I find it interesting so that people do not get tired, yes. For my part, I prefer the sponge to clean.
OMGosh! AWESOME! Literally had the Hurricane in my online shopping cart and then said to myself, "Self,, look up a Y.T. review first." The ladies out there understand the reason I quickly clicked on your review as well as watching twice, but I digress. ;)
Ok...so I ordered the Turbo Scrubber which was only $7. more than the Hurricane. I thought it was worth it for the NiMh longer life battery. If the Hurricane ran for 44 mins. without any cleaning pressure applied, I would think that the actual usage time might be 10 mins. shorter. ??? Same with the Turbo, but at least you know you'll get a full hour of usage, maybe more. In any case, I ordered it and will come back with the outcome. I'm running over to my neighbor to show her this because I know she'll want one too! ;) Just kidding with ya, young man...Hey Grammies can have fun too! Thanks for the review and God Bless you and family with a Healthy, Safe and Joyful 2017! 😇
In Christ i
What?
Very useful information. Thank you very much!
Dear freakin reviews ( sorry couldn’t find your name anywhere I looked ).
I am big fan ! Love your shows .
Your last review for electric scrubber was amazing . Alas the product you tested are no longer in circulation . Can you make
Another video comparison of available electric
Scrubber ?
Again thank you for amazing and helpful video reviews .
Hussain 👍🏻
Thank you so much. I was ready to click on the Hurricane on the BB and B website but saw they had the Turbo Scrub 360. You helped me decide. I am buying the Turbo. I have a herniated disc in my lower back and a lot of pain in my right shoulder and arm. I cannot bend down because of my back or exert any pressure to scrub because of my arm. Cleaning the bathtub is almost impossible for me. Every time I have to do it it's just half assed and I am in excruciating pain afterwards for a few days. Hopefully the Turbo will make it painless for me. Thanks again.
Glad I could be of help!
OMG! I received my Turbo Scrub 360 in 2 days after I ordered it. It charged in less than 2 hours and I cleaned the sink with it the same day. But did not have time for the big one until yesterday. My bathtub is sparkling clean and it was so easy. Saved my back and arm, no pain whatsoever. My bathtub has never been this clean since , since it was newly installed I bet. Thank you for your reviews again. Merry Christmas.
So I watched your review of the Hurricane Scrub yesterday, found out about the Turbo Scrub today. Im hoping you can answer a question for me. My reason for purchasing one of these is I have a real bad back and can't bend or kneal for any length of time. In your opinion, which one has the better extension wand? Thanks for doing what you do! Its alot of help!!
They are virtually identical. If you blindfolded me, I probably couldn't tell a difference between them. I'm not a fan of the extension wands, which I felt were kind of flimsy and led to the unit wobbling. My wife didn't mind the extension wands, however, so it must be just a matter of opinion. Hope that helps.
Could you do an updated video on some of the newer better quality scrubbers please? For example, the GOOD PAPA Electric Spin Scrubber with the neon green microfiber attachments and the better quality grey brush head attachments and a couple that compare to the GOOD PAPA Electric Spin Scrubber.
Do either of these work when they're plugged in for charging? Thanks.
Wow great Review, thanks so much.
Thank you so much really helped me
Hi, what camera do you use? Picture quality is great! Love the light effects in the background, LOL.
Hi there. For this video I think it was mostly a Nikon D3200. For more recent videos I'm using a Sony RX100 V.
Yes the battery was the icing on the cake for me. Got get turbo
Ok, I have watched the video's and now I need to know which one to get? Thanks...
Have you ever did a review on Better Brella Umbrella? If not would love to see one. love your channel
Thank for showing us the best product!
Thanks for the review. Did either bog down when putting pressure on them after say 0 min, 15 min or 30 min of use?
You can definitely hear the motor slow as you apply pressure, depending on how much pressure of course. I've used both of these quite a bit since this video, and I'm pretty happy with both of them. My wife was able to remove some very old tub stains using one of these and a cleaner with bleach.
Hello and Thank You for the Great test comparison! Because of your Awesome demonstration You've sold me on the Turbo Scrub 😄 👍🏻. My question is which Turbo Scrub did you use in this test? Was it the Turbo Scrub that you can get 2 for 19.99 ea. on the Turbo Scrub tv commercial? or the Turbo Scrub 360? or the Turbo Pro? I want the one you have! with the 3 brushes! Thanks in advance for your response!
i have a question does the both have the same rotatespin? and does the brush from trubo spin fits on hurricane? and the battery does the turbo spin works in hurricane?
Can you attach the hurricane brushes to the turbo scrub and vice versa?
I was thinking of buying one of those to scrub my tires. Wonder if it'd work
what do you use on stone tiles with grout on all sides for cleaning - Baking soda or something else ????
thank you. good job.
Maybe in future reviews, you could cover the warranty coverage on products like theses-thanxs!
Thank you!
Thanks for this video
I was wondering how the one you use most (let me know which one, please) is holding up after 6 years. Because of your reviews on these I'm in the market to buy one, but want to know about the reliability. Thanks!
I got the 8 Pc Cordless Indoor/Outdoor Power Scrubber, Extension Tool & Accessories (V33924) from QVC and it works great. It looks just like these. I have a bad back , and like that I can sit on a stool next to the shower and can use the extension tool to clean my shower. Have you tried this set from QVC?
Susan McNutt I'm gonna check it out. I've never gotten a bad item from QVC and their return policy is God as well. How was the battery life?
I'm interested in the power. Realistically, I won't be cleaning for two hours straight, and I want a brush that doesn't slow down if I use it on tiles. I read some reviews that Turbo slows down when you use it on tiles.
I just got the hurricane. I think the flat brush save me more time than the one for turbo because of it size. I will like to mention that I wash my entire bathroom once a week and I use it with out recharging at all at least 5 consecutive weeks.
Thank you for the review it really helped. I had a problem with the hurricane scrubber coming off at the connection and the black button kept flying off, it kept coming off exposing the battery when I put it on it started up again. Did you have a problem with that?
Hi Wanda, no I have not experienced that problem. I haven't heard of that before, either.
Great review. BTW..thanks.
I bought one and really do like it, but the charger worked the first time, now it will not charge the scrubber. I have used only once.
Thanks ! Amazing video 🚿
Did the size of the flat brush make a difference?
Your review helped make my decision. I went to Fry's and bought Turbo Scrub. I short listed 3: a) Turbo Scrub b) Hurricane Spin and c) Tub n Tile. The Ni-Mh battery on Turbo scrub sealed the deal.
They are still selling the old Turbo scrubs with Ni-Cd batteries. The one I got says "NiMh" on the box, where as old ones don't mention battery type.
Interesting. I haven't seen the Ni-Cd version for sale. Good to know!
The one for sale on turboscrub web site is NiCd version. This is the "buy one, get one" sale that they have on their web site.
Rubbish .
Your review made my decision super quick & simple (SO NOT an easy task 😉). Best review I've seen, hands down. In fact, this is the very first video that actually made me want to stop and take the time to leave a comment. After reading Joe Droider's comment, quick question... Does this mean that I most likely would not want to purchase the "buy one, get one" set from the Turbo Scrub site?
Hi Annalise! I noticed the Turbo Scrub website now mentions a NiCad battery, so I'm starting to wonder if they have switched from NiMh to NiCad. I have tried to contact someone at the company to find out, but I haven't gotten an answer yet. You may want to look at what's in stock locally and look for those that mention the NiMh battery.
The people from Hurricane Spin Scrubber told me they chose NiCad over NiMh due to concerns about overheating with the NiMh. I've used my NiMh Turbo Scrub extensively and have never had overheating issues. If Turbo Scrub has switched to NiCad, I don't know if it will out-perform the Hurricane Spin Scrubber as shown in my comparison here.
Hi I think the cost of each is also a big difference, due to battery.
I believe they both cost about $40.
thanks man!!!!
How do I replace the battery it will not charge.
Does it actually do what it says for the Turbo Scrub?
How to buy spin scrubber plz tel m
Not only does the Tubro Scrub have a better battery but if you look at the specs the amp hour rating is higher on the Tubro Scrub then the Hurricane (and Clorox brand spin brush).
*Dance the Skies*
I think the battery in my turbo scrub is fantastic. I even leave it for days before I recharge it as it lasts so long. I use it in my sons shower down the toilet bowl and on the kitchen floor. It's amazing as we live in a hard water area which has a lot of limescale. I have reformed my sons toilet bowl
Are the Turbo brushes and Hurricane brushes interchangeable?
I thought they would be, but they're not.
How is the sturdiness of the Turbo Brush vs the Spin Brush & which one needs less pressure from the person using it? Also, how long past the warranty do they hold up?
I find they are quite sturdy without the extension handle. They are so similar, that they both seem to require about the same amount of pressure.
I've been using them for quite a few months and haven't noticed any battery degradation (yet). The brushes are getting kind of frayed, though. I believe you can now buy replacement brushes, however.
Did you try it on mildew tiles in the shower, specially on the grout?
Hi there I know this is years from when this video was made. But I am now looking trying to find a spin scrubber for sale and its hard to find any of them that are still around. The only one I seem to be able to find is the Tilswall Electric Spin Scrubber on amazon. Does anyone know if its really any good or where I can still buy some of the old ones? Oh and ty for making this awesome video.
Some time back I found a Hurricane Spin scrubber by (not in) our apt dumpsters. It works but it's missing it's charger, which costs about $18 or so to get at Amazon. But when you said that it uses Ni-Cads, NO WAY is there any chance I'm going to buy a charger for it. This is based on my experience with my Black & Decker 18V hand held pivot vac, which I loved to use, until those Ni-Cads crapped out. You have to fully charge them, then fully discharge Ni-Cads because they have a "memory" that will shorten it's battery life unless you fully charge/discharge.
Can you interchange brushes ?, Thanks for the reviews.
Between these two, no. I believe the Scrubtastic and Hurricane Spin Scrubber can be used interchangeably.
How long do the brushes last?
The battery helped my choice. Thank you.
I got deluxe turbo longer time, 2 speeds and comes with a big and small flat brush all for an extra £10
hi how do I buy one of this rotary broom in the wish and send to Brazil more here the 110v and 110v and only 220v you know I wanted to conprar to I liked the vid vidios
Is the noise the same on both?
Thank you! I'm glad I checked on your channel because I was wondering which one to choose. Now I know
Prices the same?
how do the extended wands compare? a lot of these types of products have cheap materials that make the wands, when extended for reaching easily bend. this makes using the extended feature useless. did you compare them? or review that part of the product
Hi. I found the extensions to be virtually identical. To me, they make the scrubbers too wobbly when I attempt to use more pressure on tougher areas. I prefer the hand-held feel, so I can exert pressure when needed. My wife, however, said she liked the extensions so she didn't have to bend as much. I suppose it's a bit of a tradeoff in that department.
Is there replacement heads for them or How would you clean them?
I have seen replacement heads at Bed Bath & Beyond. I have an old brush in my garage that I use to clean the heads off.
what about hommit scrubber did you try that one
Mine didn't fare well on the run time test, after an eight hour charge it only ran for a mere four minutes, yes four, it's back on charge again in case it was just a glich but, if it happens again I will be a little bit annoyed, and posting it into the nearest dustbin.
Are the brush heads interchangeable between the two products?
They aren't. The Clorox Scrubtastic did have brush heads that fit onto one of these (I think it was the Hurricane Spin Scrubber).
How does it work on stains and buildup from hard water?
I've fond that you have to apply a decent amount of pressure and use a good cleaning product, but it's still better (to me) than scrubbing by hand.
what type of cleaner do you use to use the brushes with?
Lime-A-Way and a Tub & Tile cleaner. They are both white, so didn't show up well in the video.
But it has better attachments to clean faster so ya
I purchased the hurricane scrubber and guess what, if you try to push down with any effort what so ever it stops, it's OK if your shower is already clean, but if your town has hard water like mine, it sucks.
I used it with soft scrub, comet and it just doesn't have any power. I'm very disappointed that I wasted the money on this product.
