This story will be forever told, for many generations. This movie reminded me of my mother's story. Hopefully war and destruction will stop .

It's more European history, no harm looking into the Greek War of Independence, it's time most Americans study European history in general and not focus too much on the the 2 world wars. As it turned out The Russians, French and British came into the war on the side of the Greeks. Note the Russians kicked the Turks out of Crimea a few years earlier, hopefully that rings a few bells.

All of Greece as you know it today was not completely liberated until the end of 1912, Balkan wars and the end of WWI.

Thank you for a beautiful but also tragic story of war, of hate, of revenge and of love. Christina inspired her followers until death and in death to fight to the end. No matter what. She is a tragic figure and also a heroin- almost saint.

Beautiful movie. The Janissary 's were captured slave boys from lands that were invaded by the Ottomans and turned into fighting machines. Vlad the Impaler's history gives an insight to how the Ottomans operated.

Was this ever nominated for an Oscar? It sure deserves several! It's visually very beautiful, as well as all of the usual things we look for. So much perfect attention to detail in every way. It should have been a blockbuster!
But instead the crap about stupid comic book charachters keeps rolling on the reels, or whatever they use in theatres now. That is so incredibly dumb.
How Americans can be stupid enough to pay a huge amount of money for that, I'll never know! I wouldn't even be able to sit through one of those! I did try once. I forget if I left or fell asleep. I didn't see it all though. It was the first of the X Men series, and it bored me to tears. Garbage gets celebrated and great shows like this get ignored! It makes no sense.

After 30 minutes in, I had tears in my eyes through to the end. I simply adore Greeks and love their food. Oompa! Too many commercials. RUclips, any commercial advertisement you repeat over and over and over makes me adamant that I will not buy that product. Furthermore, that Temu is based in China and needs to be removed. China is not a friend to the USA.

Im Persian and think Ottoman sultani culture was great. They even spoke Persian as an official language..now don't be confused..many of them had blue eyes and blond hair..just look at the paintings.
Hair color and eyes are not relevant at all to whether or not they are or were great! And you wouldn't think they were great if you had been oppressed and your family killed.
