Took a Christian girlfriend to see this film in theatre in October of 1975 while still in high school; we held hands all through the film; the following year, 1976, in October the late Rev Billy Graham presented a revival, I was an usher and my girlfriend sang in Cliff Barrows choir. So thankful her and I are saved through the Lord Jesus Christ for all eternity
This is the first time I have seen this film since it came out in November 1971. Back then as a teenager I did not feel the full impact. Now as an aging adult, especially with a wife from East Germany, it truly hits on a new level. With what we see taking place in 2023 all believers must prepare to be faithful as never before. Be brave in Christ our Savior.
I really recommend the book, it is even more powerful than the film. It made me wish that I had known the Ten Booms, yet I felt that I knew them through the book. It is beautifully written & God must have put His Hand in it.

With all that is going on in the world today in 2024, this biographical movie brings a history lesson and a wake up call against the evil and anti-semitism of our day. I had the privilege of meeting Corrie Ten Boom when I was a child. She was real. Her story is real. Jesus and His love are real.
What the so-called leader/s fail to realize, that what they are fighting for doesn't belong to anyone. The whole earth 🌎 belongs to GOD. HE is the creator of heaven and earth and the earth is HIS footstool.

I met Corrie in the early to mid 70’s ,I was a young boy at Arlington Foursquare Church in Riverside,California. She came to give testimony of Gods love. I’ll never forget her. What an amazing woman. Gods love shines bright.

Then I checked in the exhaustive concordance (NIV) and looked up all the "yeast" and "leaven" references in the Bible. I STILL have no idea what you are talking about! It reminds me of the story in Matthew where Jesus warns to "beware the yeast of the Pharisees" and His disciples think he is actually talking about bread. I read Ten Boom's story several times when I was a new believer. Twenty-one years later, I stumbled upon the movie, and it still overwhelms me. It's such a powerful testament to God's glorious grace!

I am "young" enough to keenly remember the series "Holocaust" on TV in the late 70s. This had a profound impact on my life. Then, when I became a follower of Jesus, "The Hiding Place" had an even more profound impact on my life. I eventually became a high school teacher of history and social studies and swore that I would not neglect teaching the history of the Shoah as I taught the other important history, too. I love each and every one of my students and teach them the full orb of US and World history. I thank God for this movie and I continue to serve Him.

I have watched this movie so many times. It gives me Courage. To know that Corrie Ten Boom did suffer so much and was a witness to so much evil. That she was even able to continue Trusting and Loving the Lord despite what was hard to reconcile with a Loving God, gives me Hope. Even so come quickly Lord Jesus.

Wow when she was talking to the kids with Down syndrome about Jesus. I started crying! Reminded me of my grandparents that are in heaven now. They used to teach the neighborhood kids about Jesus!

That line's stuck with me ever since I read the book, and it always will be with me. I didn't know there was a film of The Hiding Place, and I didn't know it was on here either! It was an amazing book, an amazing story. Another thing that will always stay with me is that when Corrie's Father was buying a train ticket to go somewhere, I think he was literally doing that, and Corrie asked him something about having the strength to do something, it's years since I read the book, and I can't remember all the details of it, but Corrie's Father said to her that like when he'll give her the ticket just before she gets on the train, God will give us the strength to do something just at the time when we need it. That's very powerful, and it will always stay with me. The whole book's incredibly powerful, and it had a tremendous impact on me. I'll watch this film sometime. I had no idea it was on RUclips. I was looking for something else, and I'm pleased I saw it.

One day in 1997 I picked up a dead Sparrow I put in my hands I covered my hands I feel so pity for the dead bird I looked up to the sky I asked god i said. Rubbish. I loved God followed him praised him he drove me away because I was not predestined. Not able to afford basic needs church abandoned me left me socially isolated didn't help. Knowing that they were driving me to suicidal aims. I'm just looking for a way to die a quick death but God doesn't even allow that. Churches only help those who are predestined otherwise they just let you suffer. I'm living proof of God's hate. He won't even pet me succeed to die but keeps me here to suffer. Like woman said in movie he's sadistic if you are not a chosen one.

I was able to visit the Ten Boom clock shop/home. This brings back memories for me as I toured the clock shop/home. The shop is now some other business. The hiding space where the Jews hid is really small...standing room only. What an honor to have visited it.
I've been there 2 times and saw the hiding place.
I went into that place too when I was in year 7.
I want my faith to be as strong as Corrie Ten Boom. She is GOALS!! May her and Betsy rest in HIS GLORY ❤

When I accepted Christ 49 yrs. Ago I happened upon the Book "The Hiding Place" It so impacted me so much and little did I know God was preparing back then for loss of Home, Husband, Children by False accusation.
I grabbed that book and God opened up deep lessons I only saw while I was suffering and clinging to Him!

One of the best movies I have ever seen! Very true to the book and to research that has since been discovered. You can still go to the ten Boom house, now a museum, in Haarlem. I’ve been there and I highly recommend it. I watched this again bc of all the evil
In the world- sometimes I get distressed. I needed to hear again how the ten Booms made it through, the Scriptures they quoted, their faith- with the increase of anti- Semitism and persecution of Christians increasing around the world- I need God’s strength! I pray for my children to have strength to face whatever tomorrow brings!

A timely reminder in these troubled times. I read the story of Corrie ten Boom as a young girl; and I’ve never forgotten her reminder: that if we give ourselves genuinely to the lord, our reward is in heaven. Nothing we experience on earth compares to what our saviour did for us.

I remember seeing this with my mother when it came out. I was 9. God bless all, here....
Interestingly - the message I took from The Hiding Place is that of forgiveness, and the need to love even those who wrong us.
The last scene of the book is one of the most powerful I have ever read. Corrie goes to Germany to teach the story of God’s love and forgiveness. There she encounters one of the guards from Ravensbruck. He asks for her forgiveness. At first she feels she cannot do it, but prays. Then warmth, love and forgiveness flow through her to him.
Everything so perfect and normal...and in a blink of an eye it changes to utter darkness...are we losing our freedom again...may we never forget and fight against this evil descending upon us!!

Fantastic movie. I never knew about Corrie until I started attending a Baptist Church in our county a few years ago. What a brave God-fearing woman. May we all have that courage there's more darkness coming with so much corruption in all our world Governments. [Matthew 24] I pray everyone reading this has given their hearts to Jesus Christ and are trusting in HIs blood to save them. The time is now. This Age of Grace is drawing to a close. Don't get left behind. The Tribulation (7 years) will be even worse than what has happened in the past. God bless.

@@kathyfrew7282 I don't believe that, I'm sorry. I believe that 'Hell ' in the Bible refers to complete, total separation from God. The horror of knowing we will never be able to reach out to Him, or be with Him , for all eternity . He cannot be there, wherever sinners go after death, as they'd still have comfort and hope from Him, If He were in Hell , that implies sinners can still be shown His Grace, and be saved after death. Which is against the Gospel teachings...Nobody can be saved and reach Heaven or Eternity after they die. So this belief is dangerous, as people won't realise that they need to be saved , by Jesus, during THIS lifetime. With that belief, precious souls will be lost forever, to the Kingdom Also, what would be the point of Jesus, if God is in Hell? He died so those who repent and become saved will have Eternal life in Heaven. The ONLY way to God and Eternal life is through Jesus Christ . God being in Hell is a complete rebuttal of that very Salvation, isn't it ? Sorry this is a bit garbled. I've got insomnia and haven't slept all night. It's now 06.30

No one is good except God. If you have faith even as small as a mustard seed you can say to a mountain, "Go, cast yourself into the sea", and it will do it. No man can have faith without the gracious mercy of God. May everyone who doesn't believe in Jesus recieve faith from God himself. Only God can resurrect the dead.

I read the book & have seen the movie many times... It never ceases to make my cry. Betsie was told by Jesus in her dream that she & Corrie would be free before New Year Day... And they were...!
Betsie was freed by dying, Corrie was freed by what they say was a "clerical error" which probably wasn't it ....
But nonetheless, they were freed.

The epitome of "Faith". I first watched this movie in my 5th grade class and it touched me tremendously. I am 38 years old and I still feel the same way years later. 😭🙏🏾
This is one movie I have watched a dozen times starting in 1975 and I have read the book 3 times. I have visited the JEWELRY shop of the TEN BOOM family in Holland because from this story we never stop learning about "how to love," "how to forgive," "how to endure" and much more. It is a message with a very deep meaning.

I cried watching this movie it felt so real and it had me researching why it took place ( the Holocaust ) I feel the Lord is preparing us in our time for the coming persecution of Christians in America and in other Christian countries. I pray we look to The Lord and write his words from the Gospel on our hearts and in our minds. We must have great faith and be strong even if we lose our life for his sake , we will be with him forever. 🙏✝️❤️

That only comes from accepting Jesus as your Savior and asking Him to take the hate and vengefulness out of us and replace it with His love and forgiveness. It's been years since I've watched anything about the Holocaust; it is just too much for me. I honestly think that those who suffered in those prison camps were the closest to know how Jesus felt on the cross. My heart breaks for them all. Never again. ❤
