Absolute best sales pitch for this mk2 thus far Hawkes and 100% of the reason why I will be buying one. I never ever play in open because while I’m a seasoned player with billions in credits, I absolutely despise having my time and credits wasted because some rando asshat decides my ship is a target. Being able to play in open with nearly zero consequences to the whims of the dregs of elite sounds like a win to me that is worth a few bucks.
Hey Hawkes! I’m so glad you’re back on Elite Dangerous. You’re my very favorites content creator and ai miss you. Love your video. Being thru a tough moment in life this year and almost didn’t make it. But now I see you are back and give me hope. You’re my inspiration and I’m happy you are with us! Love the new glorious Python ship, it is more like your style! Anyhow. Hoping to hear from you soon my friend. Hope everything is going great with family. Cya soon
I've got over 50k arx waiting. I just hope they surprise us with more than just the Venom Claret paintjob. It's cool, but after seeing literally everyone using it, I'm not sure I wanna. And while I'll be modifying my prebuilt, low rebuy will definitely motivate me to play more in open. Even as a multibillionaire, I hate paying big rebuys.
Frontier is also waiting for your +50k ARX, to get them Faster they Doubled the ARX Price of most Cosmetics, Shipkits, Paintjobs, Suitkits! And overall a increasese of 5 - 35% for the other Shiny Stuff in Shop! Yep, very well, the wating was worth it! 😉
@@AtlasRandGaming technically it is still pay to win, but its the most user friendly p2w possible. ship will be purchasable in game, and its not supposed to be used against other players but simply to pve which doesnt hurt anyone (stock). i feel like creds in elite are obtainable very easily, so the only real advantage isnt the 0 cost rebuy but the engineered modules. that said im afraid we will be seeing majority of gankers using those since the rebuy is so low even after changing the modules, being one of if not the most cheap pvp ship to run.
I’m an elite veteran and coming back after a few years been playing since 2015. And I got to say the zero does entice me, I’m a lifetime passholder and that’s kind of the one thing I always wanted was less rebuy, it does make me want to play in open more. I play in VR with a HOTAS, and my keyboard and mouse people would always wreck me because their aim is just that much easier. I bought the standard prebuilt, but I kitted it out really well and my rebuy is only like 9 million. I’m using two super penetrator rail guns to turd in multi cannons, a beam laser and a large missile launcher with drag munitions. I’ll probably change it up here and there, but I’m having fun in elite dangerous again
I love your videos Hawk.. not just Elite but all other games too. Thanks for entertaining us and giving us the latest scoop on whats going on. Appreciate all you do brother!
I didn't play in open for over 2 years when I started playing. I got jumped for days in a row at the starting system and gave up. Even now I prefer playing in the AX private group. I just don't feel like dealing with someone who just wants to "pvp" against other commanders who aren't geared up for it.
Hey Hawkes! I love the packaged ships, as a long time player who's struggled to get a lot of what I have (let alone not unlocked all the engineers etc) The packaged ships allow me to jump in and get going on hitting the stuff i've been stuck at!
I was going to wait getting the python MK.2 but father seeing your video here thinking about getting the Stella version and not even wait. Thank you 🙏🏻
great vid. got this ship and had some fun this morning now im going to engineer it to the max and might try some pvp ive got plenty of creds for the rebuy screen .but its a game and fun so lets do this
I tought the pre-built ship package would come engineered, and since you didn't even show it stock it kind of confirmed it to me. Probably my mistake alone, but I think you could show it stock before the engineering so people are not mislead.
A brand new player will never get those emotions and excitement of getting the first viper or the first cobra. They ruin the initial experience for themselves imo, while also missing the valuable learning that you can make on a small ship. But it is what it is, have fun everyone.
@@ShinigamiGrin Well, then it's up to the player to decide what is his best or most enjoyable way of starting the game. I'm sure there will be guides and recommendations for the beginning.
@@Youda00008 why do you feel the urge to state the obvious? Of course it is their choice, but they will skip those initial feelings and that is undeniable. I'm not saying that it's wrong or anything, please stop trolling
@@ShinigamiGrin Your first comment seemed like you would rather remove the new Python and take away this possibility of quicker start from the new players
I have been playing an open since I got the game in 2018. Yeah I got attacked in PvP quite a few times when I started out. 90% of the time it was because I was dumb and decided to jump into a spot I did not know I couldn't take. I got aggravated a few times until I learned that I was the cause of the mistake a lot of times.
Love the new ship it's cool. I got the prebuilt but then couldn't change any of the modules so then I got the regular one too. They got some funding from me for sure lol.
Imagine if they would allow creators like you to design the ship with all the engineering and put it in store, and then you would get some commissions if ship sells, even if it is in arx.
Great video cmdr!!! As a veteran player, I don't think ships sold for cash are P2W, unless they start selling fully engineered ships. Even then, piloting skills are still a big factor so the P2W claims are somewhat of a stretch. The only thing I disagree with is not making the ship available for credits at the same time as it hits the ARX store.
I don't mind the pre-pack ship for real money, it will be annoying to wait the 2-3 month to buy it with credits. What I would like is a way to change ship load out faster, I mean give the carriers the possibility to have pre -pack load outs of our ships and linked to module in storage on the carrier.
Can’t wait to see what other shops they will release. Waiting till August for this ship. When the P MK II came out some idiot in this ship tried to gank my IEagle at Farseer Inc on Deciat right as I was taking off. They were waiting to get the quick gank. They failed to get me and I regrouped and went after them. They ended up running away from my Imperial Eagle. I couldn’t believe it.
Greetings commander! It has been a long while since you last uploaded ED video. Please do a Xeno guide, it would be in high demand! What ship to choose? Engineering, Guardian modules, playstyle, how much will this earn you, where to farm etc etc
Right on point with ptw questions Hawkes me ole mate - ... and , if it revalues risk vs reward for new players streaming more people into open (Hooray) - this might influence greater investment into the platform from FDv. Open new Battleship battles next for factions?
I'm an explorascrub, so I haven't been able to engineer anything yet. Been busy tooling around in my asp exploder might grab it for pve. Unless it can be an explorer somehow. I admit that I stay far away from open.
I'm no noob, and I'd consider buying one of these just so I didn't have to go through the faff of figuring out WHERE TO BUY MY MODULES. Because even doing that in Elite can be so opaque that it basically requires INARA.
If you have an Elite rank: Jameson Memorial (station) in Shinrarta Dezhra. If not: I Sola Prospect (Planetary station) on planet A 1 in the Brestla system.
@@OrderOfOmphalos Yeah I know. I usually bounce between Lembava and Diaguandri for the LYR price bonus. What I just wanted to emphasize is how hard the game makes it just to even buy your kit for your ship. I wouldn't mind the "realism" of not every station having every module if there was an in-game way to actually FIND what you're looking for.
There shuold be in game delivery option for ship modules. You may request delivery of your ship to any location at a cost right? Why modules cannot be delivered in the same way
Hello and Thanks, Hawkes. Another helpful video. I purchased a Python MkII in game for credits today at Vancausson Hub in Zandu (15% discount at this Li Yong Rui base). I was anticipating upgrading various components with some already engineered modules I had in storage. In particular, wanted to upgrade the hull with a military grade hull. For whatever reason, I was unable to do so. I tried using another engineered Lightweight hull, but that was deemed "incompatible" too. Even an UNengineered, same type hull I had in storage from a different ship could not be used. I had read about issues with changing out modules on the PRE-BUILT ship, but that's NOT what I'm dealing with here. Any idea about what is going on? Thanks in advance.
You can add any module you want and then engineer it on these pre-builts. I'm sure it will be a thargoid killer as well. Just not with the MC's and pulses.
Soon we will need less mats to do the engineering. I'm not sure if they plan on changing how we collect them though. Meaning not needing to reload to be effective.
If you exchange any of the prebuilt ship's modules with that of those available such as Jameson Memorial. At the rebuy screen, you are faced with making a choice of getting the prebuilt and original mod's for free, or; The prebuilt ship with the mod's you exchanged for the cost of only the mod's you changed. Thus making it a cheaper rebuy, but a cost neverless. What happen's should one not exchange the original mod's, but engineer them. In as much as they are the same prebuilt mod's, and one simply has altered them by using material's, meaning not exchangeing them. Is one face with the same choice's of getting the "ORIGINAL" for free, or the "ORIGINAL with the engineered mods, free. Exchaning the original's have a monitary value, engineering them doesn't, material's with the exception of spend time, effort have no monitary value.
I currently have a non engineered load out similar to this but with railguns and chaf to deal with my T-9 minor faction grinds. Should I even bother taking out people targeting me while trading or just engineer the T-9 for better FSD evasion?
New players please make sure if you build an awesome ship that you can afford the rebuy before you fly it because if you cannot you will lose everything. Happened to me a couple times. Even happened more recent than I'd like to admit with a type 10 that I overestimated 😂 that was a billion-dollar mistake😅
Nice video. My main reason for avoiding Open play on pretty much any game is that other players tend to spoil the immersion. The ganking of newbies is pretty crappy too but if you're getting into playing a game and starting to feel like part of the universe then look across at chat and see some douche spamming random crap it sucks you right out of it.
Love your videos! I would like to come back and play Elite but I don't have Odyssey - can I still get away without it or do I need it? I heard trading data was more difficult to sort through because Horizon has separate data but I actually don't know. Thanks!
If you have the ability to get Odyssey do it. Youre main reason for doing so would be having access to valid 3rd party information you really need to play the game. Secondary would be access to on foot stuff and third access to the python mk 2 much earlier than in august sometime.
Definitely not "Pay to win" unless it was a PVP god right out of the box. Pay to get money quick is just fine. Personally I think FDev should allow people to buy in-game credits for real money as it is. Someone like me that has many Billions of credits could consider buying a B for $25-50 and not have to worry about my 24.5M / week upkeep on my carrier that supports my group of friends in our activities. Looking forward to buying the new ship early just to add it to my repertoire.
It is very hard to die in this ship in PVE. When loosing the shields just go away, recover and come back. You have the speed you have the hull to escape. The ship is awesome. The regular python even if it is a pocket battleship (because of the bigger power distributor on par with the Cutter) is not so enjoyable in combat.
I'm not a PvP type of person when it comes to any kind of open-world game. I would much rather be able to meet commanders out in the black while not having to worry about if they're going to turn my ship into a debris cloud. I play Elite for the immersion and to wind down from work, doing a lot of mining and full system scanning with the occasional trade or PvE combat to break the monotony. I want to play open, but not if it means I have to play a specific way with a specific ship using specific loadouts just to stand a chance against other players.
Tony and Ethan's little brother back on Elite? Yeh Im tempted to spend a handful of euros on it just to see what the SCO is like, but then do I have time to do it justice or will I gain the remaining ARX quickly anyway, if only I was Indiana Jones, he had no problem achieving maximum ARX.
It's funny how you talked about open world play and getting ganked. This is the exact reason me and a group of friends made a private group to play in. It was an awful experience when you start off and with in your first 2 to 3 hours of playing you got ganked more than 3 times...
Just picked up a stock Python MK 2 and thinking about how to build her. Pay to win it is and it isn't. It depends who's flying. New player going up against a Vet, who flys with flight assist off who will win?
Elite partner early access to test out the ship. It'll be available for pre purchase on the 7th of may in the ARX store or bought in game with credits in August.
Holy struggling distributor, Batman! My rule of the thumb for Bi-Weave shields is that if the distributor isn't larger than it, use the lo-draw experimental on the shield. Dunno what to do for the weapons. Maybe use efficient on all of the Multi-Cannons except the one with corrosive, which should be high capacity.
Here's a challenge for you... I'm still a beginner here with about 500 hours in and have earnt 3B after many, many hours of Pirate stacking missions in res sites and a load of trading runs (back and forth - back and forth - back and forth till my eyes started to bleed!). I have No engineering, thats right Nada, Niks nothing. It's a grind i just haven't been able to face yet. Still... it'd be nice to add a MK 2 and try it out.... (PvE - no way i'm good enough for PvP). Every "Tuber" is showing off their Mega Engineerd builds of the MK 2 and why not? If you have the zillion hours of grind plus the Gazillion space bucks to spend then it's what i would be doing aswell. But - what about those of us without carriers, without the means and materials to engineer and tweak the internals to make the MK2 into something that really flies....? On the stock build the MK 2 is crammed to the gills, there's no power left to use, there is no Fuel scoop and no range to travel anywhere. There's also no supercruis assist and no docking computer. How about a build that's aimed at the less advanced, something we can also play with and whoop! Needs to be affordable and also usable, as in being able to travel under it's own power from system to system and being able to stand a chance in a fight. That'd be a video guide i'd like to see 🙂
Question is ,when internet August it will be available do we will buy on stations the same pre-built python with credits or only available pay by money
@@jimby812 my 2nd question is which other prebuilt ships will be available like corvette Anaconda etc...,and if someone could make understand to frontier that to make the game attractive they have to understand that's exploiration game we don't want to spend months to got money to buy ships and equipment and reach elite rank to got Shinrarta system permit but like in old game Freelancer which is excellent a scenario with a story main mission would be the welcome but at univers scale and being able to access to event easily without gather billions to buy fleet carrier to jump far for boose cruise at precise time to earn billions or being obliged to play mmo mod to be able to destroy thargoid titans and to have tested many space games the piloting gameplay isn't fluid enough and logical and many bugs during combat that cost the loss of your ship and pay 20 millions to reby it many insane things to correct to have pleasant game, and adapt odyssey to consoles to go out the cockpit walk in stations etc...
Less range overall and more power usage. If you don't go all the way with the range and don't care about power, maybe the A lightweight would be better, tho.
@@Youda00008 Indeed, I find using overcharged engineering when you don't need it very weird. Probably chosen just to be sure there will be enough power as there is no EDSY or Coriolis for it yet. A weak counterpoint would be that more used power still generates more heat. Generally I agree that in this case lightweight would have been better. He probably went for the familiar solution and had that blueprint pinned.
Showing keeping all the modules to keep it at 0 rebuy. That was the main intent to show how powerful it can be for pve if you keep all the modules plus engineer them.
I've earned a lot of arx for free and I also understand that they needed some help on server funding so I bought my chieftain with my free arx and I went ahead and bought the python Mark II with arx I bought for cash. I don't fly the python that often but I can see where I can help out new people to get used to playing. I don't think many new players are going to be buying it right off the bat though. Also I think the fact that if any new player did buy the ship and then went to store their module and lost it right away it'd be mad because I know I kind of was when I found out I couldn't store it. The fact that it tells you you have to sell it and then you don't make any kind of money for it pisses me off too. I actually bought the ship in game as well just to feel better about it 😂. I also own all the Lakons. . . Well I did until I lost my type 10😅
God dam, i find it so hard going back into this game after 700+ hours , the update progress on this game is truly terrible, Still cant believe after Odyssey, we are still stepping into that blue circle and enter into PS1 style Resident Evil room changing, then you are sat in your chair. Give us access to walk around are ships and the I'm running back into this game big time
I do see myself buying a ship to just fool around or learn something in game without paying the cost can be nice. Do i see the ships as P2W ... no if they give FULLY engineered ships(weapons shields ect) then i might have a problem. only thing i would not have is FSD.
Just as engineering a ship for extremly long jumps when it comes to exploring is to the N-th degree different than engineering for planet exporation extremly closer to the bubble. The engineering any ship for combat with human's is to the N-th degree no where nearly the same as engineering for combat with NPC's. Thus if one using only one ship, and wanting to do some serious deep space exploring vs near bubble planet exploration, combat with human's vs combat with npc's. Must have at least four different loadout's, all consisting of slightly different engineered modual's. Add in mining or trading, and that's two more set's of modual's to engineer. Making six in total.
Deleted my previous comment because I wanted to check the ARX store again just to be sure, but I don't see the new pre-built ships available. Yes, I do own Odyssey.
The easiest way to see the pre-builts is to log into Elite up to the Main Menu Screen. Click on Game Extras then click on Pre-Built Ships. You can see and purchase if you like from there.
I get that it would suck for a new player if they get ganked in their sidewinder right out of the gate, but why would you learn to play the game in Open? I spent months in Solo getting used to everything, mapping controls, making sure I knew how the systems worked before I went into Open and I was able to absolutely trounce some of the gankers because of it. It's an MMO so you can't beat everyone on day one. Also, yes, I bought the Python MK2 because I'm impatient and want to fly *all* the ships.
Nor should it be competitive in PvP because that's when it WOULD become P2W. As these prebuilt ships stand, they're only pay to skip gameplay/grind at best, to improve starting options for new players, and I think that's FDEV's clear intent. I expect experienced players, for the most part, will see little point in using the prebuilt options and that should be as expected.
Yeah, I didn't like their pre-built setup. I also hate the fact that there's not that many available slots. That being said my rebuy is still really low even though I've swapped out a lot of modules and they are all engineered
You can skimp on the fuel scoop by switching it to a 1A and you just have to wait a little bit longer. I'm also comfortable with it now so I've taken the docking system out. My Python and my chieftain are both manual landing when it comes to station approach.
I don't understand how buying the ability to get unlimited free rebuys for cash isn't P2W. Its not so much buying a ship for cash because you can buy it for credits. Purchasing unlimited free rebuys is paying for power you can't otherwise get. Its what P2W means by definition. I think there needs to be an in game mechanic where you pay X amount of credits upfront to have unlimited free insurance on a ship or item if they are going with this "no death penalty at all for cash upfront" route with the game.
pay to win if you want to be king of solo play. If you think you can take a Stellar MK2 pre-built and fight against any commander who kinda knows what their doing with rails, plasmas, or shotguns they will destroy that zero rebuy 100% of the time. There would be no way to pay to win your way out of a paper bag if you decide to keep all components in open. Every single one you change ups the rebuy. If you want a chance to fight back you need to change all the weapons. That ups the rebuy cost considerably.
Awesome ship...but, ugh. I don't like this monetization method. The free insurance should really have been applied to all ships. I lost one of my favorite ships one day because I couldn't afford insurance and one day I had to answer the door! I got back just to see my ship destroyed by a random pirate.
Pay to Win? Absolutely! Before you could buy a ship in the store, could you afford to buy a Python at the station? nope. You had to start in your little sidey and trade/fight/explore your way up to affording the next ship and it's modules, then do it all again for the next ship.. But.... If this is what peeps want, fine with me. I have multiple tripple elites with hundreds of billions, so it's no skin off my nose. Just answering the question asked.
I will buy prebuilt, just to keep elite Dangerous from going under. We just have to wait for frontier to catch up and pass star citizen. They can do it, they just need to stop being lazy. Frontier need to update the shader graphics, create walk thur your ship to vehicle and cargo area and change FPS hand held ballistic , plasma gun . WE DONT NEED PERSONAL SHIELDS JUST MORE ARMOR HIT POINT.
The p2w aspect in this case is only relevant among the noobs, new players. So the new player with the deep pockets vs the no pockets, will get ahead faster. End game is not affected in a detrimental way.
First , let's start with, thank you for the video...awesome job. (As always). Iam total against allow the new hype, fdev has come out with this yr.(so far). Sry guys I just don't trust fdev to anything right.(to many burns from pass promise). This video makes me want to buy pyton mk2,,BUT we still have a problem ? The fuxing grind for upgrades. Can we just fix that. It would really fix almost all of what is wrong with Elite dangerous .. Just saying..
I did reach out to fdev about the future engineering changes. They will be reducing the grind on that end for sure. Although i did recommend they make it to where us as commanders dont need to play a reloading simulator to farm them effectively.
Yes, it's pay to win by definition. And, hear me out, while i don't have a problem with people who have more money than time spending it to enhance their entertainment, I DO have a problem with how it will affect design decisions by Fdev. Elite is already a grindy game, as evidence by the fact that much of this channel and elite content as a whole is dedicated to information on how to relieve that grind. If this program is successful Fdev will have no incentive to design things in a way that makes the game more fun vs making it a choice between being a chore or pulling out your wallet.
And no, having zero rebuy doesn't make playing in open any more viable. It's still my time that gets wasted and it's a hassle I don't need to endure. There's a reason games like these never really take off, and why player retention is always shit. Players complain about why new players aren't coming to the game and won't stick around. The same people foam at the mouth sitting in Chamberlains looking to club seals on sight. ED will forever have it's 2-3k player per day average because of that.
Gankers are garbage. Imagine spending years playing the game to outfit your ship to be able to kill anything if only you actually had any skill, but choosing instead to use your accumulated wealth to go kill things that couldn't kill you if you went afk for 10 minutes. It's like playing an MMO and getting to max level but then going back to the level 1 zone and clapping frogs and shit. Ganking is "PVP" as much as shooting up a hospital is "warfare". It's not combat if your opponent can't put up a fight. It's sociopathic assault.
This is a rpg / mmo .. pvp is not going to be balanced so quit worrying about it. PvP in games like this will always be a meme just have fun with it and quit taking it so serious. I mean you should just never play in open if you have an actual goal other then social interaction lol. 99% of my time is spend in private since I was ganked going to my first engineer. You can talk to other people in local chat while on a private server which imo is the greatest thing ever because its like playing on a pve server in an mmo. So its like all the good parts of playing in open which is talking to people you can still do while all the bad parts of open, running into people which 99% chance are trying to gank you. Probably the only time I play in open is on long exploration trips because most gankers stay close to home. Don't get me wrong I like balanced pvp. I play battlegrounds in Warcraft but I never roll on a pvp server because imbalance mmo pvp is just a waste of time more often then not. So if I can still talk to people in private and the only people I ever run into are trying to imbalanced pvp me then why play in open at all really. This game is like eve but everyone you actually run into is trying to pvp you with there over powered ship where in eve its only like 80% of people lol. Maybe its cuz I jump games so often Im so worried about having my time wasted fighting uphill battles or being a fish in a barrel. I am a big fan of mercy rule tho in the sense if one person is clearly better then the other then end the match declare a winner and quit wasting peoples time drawing it out. This kind of feels the same in the sense why even try unless you have a build with a goal to try in pvp.
Disappointed to see you all in on pay2win. Personally, I’m with Yamiks on this one (kind of a rare occurrence BTW). It’s sad and kills all the mood to even launch ED. New players will not know the rebuy even exists. Their struggle will be with controls and flying without spinning. And their first PVE experience will get them killed even if you’ll give them an engineered Cutter. More to the point, how many new players there even are in ED? With a reputation stinking to High Heaven, ED is definitely not something new people gravitate to. After the Odyssey flopped, I've got in a habit of gifting ED to my friends every time it went on sale (about 10 copies in total). Only a single one of them even launched it (and was completely out in about two hours). And it’s not like none of them liked space sims. They just didn’t like Fdev and ED’s grindy nature. As for the Paythone-II. Firstly, only a subset of existing player base (that is tolerant to pay2win) will buy it. Secondly as a “0 rebuy” it will be mainly used to ruin the day of new players and traders alike. So, something completely opposite of what Fdev is trying to present it as.
@@AtlasRandGaming Entitled to what exactly? Hadn’t asked a thing of Fdev or Hawkes for that matter. Or is it just another strawman day already? Not approving of someone’s actions is called an opinion FYI. And considering their results in the past number of years, my opinion on Fdev moving in the wrong direction is spot on.

Same story here. 2016 : one hour in the game, learning keys and how to move around, never seen a single other human controlled ship yet. Boom, interdicted by two guys, (you don't even know what interdiction is at this point) and of course instakilled. 2024 : 3200 hours in the game, I have never played "open" in the bubble since then. I am not even afraid of getting killed, I could just boost and jump away, but the wasted time caused by the interdiction is just not worth it. Maybe some day Fdev will be smart enough to make "PVP oriented" and "PVE only" servers, instead of solo and open. Dream on...
Six months later we find we are fckec on power, distributer, mass, optional slots, can not fit a full set of pvp weapons, ugh hot garbage. Can not even fit a decent fuel scoop lol but hey it looks kind nice? Meh ill keep my free python one that I have already tested against the crap mk two version.

If Fdev didnt give me a python MK 2 for free I very likely would have bought one for myself.
@HawkesGaming I'm grinding up g5 mats now so I can engineer day 1.
Not the first, but without a doubt the best review. Thank you cmdr. Hawkes.
Thank you!
Great one CMDR ! Interesting and fun as hell 😋🫡
Thank you!
I’ll probably change it up here and there, but I’m having fun in elite dangerous again
so many Hawkes videos lately, this is awesome
It’s great to see you making some content again Hawke
Thank you! I should be posting a lot more often.
#1 Elite Dangerous RUclipsr with awesome information
Thanks for the video and welcome back.
My wife finally is down to start playing with me once this ships out. Great opportunity for new players
Okay now thats win! It's multi crew too!!
Fuck I wish my gf would play. You lucky.
Hey Hawkes! I love the packaged ships, as a long time player who's struggled to get a lot of what I have (let alone not unlocked all the engineers etc) The packaged ships allow me to jump in and get going on hitting the stuff i've been stuck at!
Nice Hawkes!
This is a brilliant move from frontier. I hope they figure out how to do more of this, but still keep balancing the game.
I was going to wait getting the python MK.2 but father seeing your video here thinking about getting the Stella version and not even wait.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Welp this answers the question I asked on your other video, wow, pretty neat.
great vid. got this ship and had some fun this morning now im going to engineer it to the max and might try some pvp ive got plenty of creds for the rebuy screen .but its a game and fun so lets do this
I tought the pre-built ship package would come engineered, and since you didn't even show it stock it kind of confirmed it to me.
Why do you think that every new player will instantly buy the pre-built Python?
@@Youda00008 have I said that EVERY new player will buy this? I was of course referring to a new player who is buying it
@@ShinigamiGrin Well, then it's up to the player to decide what is his best or most enjoyable way of starting the game.
How is manouverability compared to a chieftain and corvette before/after engineering?
3:13 Which is why that blueprint should be one that you pin. ;)
I can agree about releasing the ship for arx and credits at the same time.
I don't mind the pre-pack ship for real money, it will be annoying to wait the 2-3 month to buy it with credits. What I would like is a way to change ship load out faster, I mean give the carriers the possibility to have pre -pack load outs of our ships and linked to module in storage on the carrier.
What I am really hoping for especially with the ARX price increases on things is that commander can earn more than 400 per week.
2-3 months?
Do you need help learning how to make money? Can get a hundred million or more just by doing exobiology..... in just a couple hours...
so the kill warrant scanner is not necessary anymore? i mean when doing stacked wing massacre missions
Am I the only one who uses night vision in combat? You can see them turn better.
For filming purposes I don't. For play in a planet's or moon's atmosphere I do.
No you are not. I use it too. Good when pilots use heatsinks.
I see this as a way to buy the ship you really really want, then build your dream ship into a monster.
You know with the changes coming to powerplay 2.0 I can see this happening.
Added the Fuel Scoop what I should replace the Repair Limpet Controller with?
I'm an explorascrub, so I haven't been able to engineer anything yet.
Been busy tooling around in my asp exploder might grab it for pve.
Unless it can be an explorer somehow.
I admit that I stay far away from open.
I'm no noob, and I'd consider buying one of these just so I didn't have to go through the faff of figuring out WHERE TO BUY MY MODULES. Because even doing that in Elite can be so opaque that it basically requires INARA.
Gettling Elite status in anything so you can goto shinarata is key.
@HawkesGaming still game doesn't tell you that.. If inara will stop the service what will happen to the game?
4 pips in shields does not speed up recharge, only affects resistances.
talking recharge of distributor power bro...
I wonder if this glorious ship can be built to fight Thargoids
You can add any module you want and then engineer it on these pre-builts. I'm sure it will be a thargoid killer as well. Just not with the MC's and pulses.
I'm so behind on engineering after transfer fron Playstation. I can't wait to fly the Mk 2 though
@@HawkesGaming Thanks!
How did you get access to it? It's not out yet.
Elite partner early access to test out the ship. It'll be available for pre purchase on the 7th of may in the ARX store or bought in game with credits in August.
@@HawkesGaming ah makes sense.
This ship begs for frags
@@JackManiacky Indeed. Unless I get it for AX, which is a little unlikely because of low room and small distro, I'll slap my Pacifiers to it.
Is it only available for ARK in the game ???
Why not 5A Sensors lightweight? It provides better range/mass ratio.
Less range overall and more power usage. If you don't go all the way with the range and don't care about power, maybe the A lightweight would be better, tho.
@@Kissamiess In this video he has a lot of spare power in the power plant.
I also own all the Lakons. . . Well I did until I lost my type 10😅
wait, you get free rebuy and get the engineering you did with it?! holy...
Frankly, if this ship had even slightly superior internals, it would probably make for a vastly superior AX ship.
Hawks Gaming… you forgot about Frags!
Wild shield stats on this thing.
Yeah it just cant be a hull tank at all though really. It basically means AX in this thing is risky really with Thargoid weapons piercing shields.
Making six in total.
all im saying is...........frags lots of frags
My FDL is basically all frags muwahaha!
If you dont die there is no rebuy.
Make sure you have enough for rebuy!
Didn’t know Michael Hogan was making RUclips videos 🤔 anyone else hear it? 😂
As a new player you wouldn't have all the engineering materials though, you mean kinda new player?
Nor should it be competitive in PvP because that's when it WOULD become P2W. As these prebuilt ships stand, they're only pay to skip gameplay/grind at best, to improve starting options for new players, and I think that's FDEV's clear intent. I expect experienced players, for the most part, will see little point in using the prebuilt options and that should be as expected.
Yeah, I didn't like their pre-built setup. I also hate the fact that there's not that many available slots. That being said my rebuy is still really low even though I've swapped out a lot of modules and they are all engineered
It's still parked buy one of the engineers with a lot of my other ships. I had to grind a little to get some funds to finish building.
You can skimp on the fuel scoop by switching it to a 1A and you just have to wait a little bit longer. I'm also comfortable with it now so I've taken the docking system out. My Python and my chieftain are both manual landing when it comes to station approach.
is it in game ?
Can be purchased from the ARX store for 16250 for Odyssey owners on the 7th of May.
It's a good starter ship like he sayd you can't realy pvp with it so why so angry lmao
Hmm depends on what kind of pvp ur doing. Im sure ganking plebs is doable. And killing noob pirates. Not to mention killing powerplayers.
Awesome ship...but, ugh. I don't like this monetization method. The free insurance should really have been applied to all ships. I lost one of my favorite ships one day because I couldn't afford insurance and one day I had to answer the door! I got back just to see my ship destroyed by a random pirate.
Zero Rebuy in Elite is like buying an Victoria Secret Bra for your flat chested girl friend
Pay to Win?
It won't make me play in open because I really have no interest in online games, but I'm definitely getting this in August.
First , let's start with, thank you for the video...awesome job. (As always).
Iam total against allow the new hype, fdev has come out with this yr.(so far).
Sry guys I just don't trust fdev to anything right.(to many burns from pass promise).
This video makes me want to buy pyton mk2,,BUT
we still have a problem ?
The fuxing grind for upgrades.
Can we just fix that. It would really fix almost all of what is wrong with Elite dangerous ..
Just saying..
I did reach out to fdev about the future engineering changes. They will be reducing the grind on that end for sure. Although i did recommend they make it to where us as commanders dont need to play a reloading simulator to farm them effectively.
hell yeah 4X PA TC 2x rails, or even 6 Flachette
exactly lol muwahahaha!
*Cries harder*
No armor (stock light) - why? Weak build.
from the perspective of the ganker its a lot of fun to oneshot newbiewinders
Worry less about others and more about why you feel entitled.
Great to see you on elite again. Hopefully chat soon. Now where did I put patreon ❤ great video man.
I would be excited, but I'm on Xbox.
Grow up.
@@Tamburello_1994 Ah, jeepers. The RUclips censor deities didn't allow my original comment. It was fairly blunt, since you seem mentally limited. Well, RUclips has protected you from my comment, so you won't be bruised, little one.
@@Tamburello_1994 Oh my, a fanboy! Is it true that your favorite soda-pop is Mountain Dew?

We did get cosmetics price increase,so there's that, lol
Same story here. 2016 : one hour in the game, learning keys and how to move around, never seen a single other human controlled ship yet. Boom, interdicted by two guys, (you don't even know what interdiction is at this point) and of course instakilled. 2024 : 3200 hours in the game, I have never played "open" in the bubble since then. I am not even afraid of getting killed, I could just boost and jump away, but the wasted time caused by the interdiction is just not worth it. Maybe some day Fdev will be smart enough to make "PVP oriented" and "PVE only" servers, instead of solo and open. Dream on...
Nah still not gonna play in open.
I have no credit card as a German, so I'm excluded from buying stuff anyway. So if they don't want my money, that's how it is. 💁♂️
Banking providers like N26 provide a virtual debit card
python mk two is actually a pay to lose ship lol you actually lose everything that made the mk one bad ass lol.
