She should be going to the Olympics by default. There should be a new criteria. If you competed in 8 Olympics, you get the ninth Olympic pass for free!!!
Oksana is the reason I took up gymnastics later in my life and I do not regret it for a moment. The day she does retire will be a memorable one indeed.
The fact she doesnt show any ill signs of bone or stress on her body from the last 3 decades tells you the amazing genes and training she does to keep herself in shape especially when she is twice the age of someone in there 20s who would be considered a veteran of gymnastics. The fact her vault is still so strong and landing so solid is really hard to put onto words.
I first learnt about Oksana when I watched her do a bars routine, after holding up a sign that said "I don't like bars", and did it WITHOUT GRIPS. She has been blowing my mind ever since. A true legend 🙏🏻
Oksana Chusovitina's first Olympics was 1992. If she competes in Paris 2024, it will have been 32 years(!) since her first Olympics and Simone Biles will be 5 years YOUNGER than that timespan.
@user-ip8gx6ep2z Simone Boles doesn't need to take DRUGS to turn flips. Were you born stupid, or did you wake up one day and decide to be stupid on purpose?
@@mstyles2667 She's not! Barbara Achondo made the floor final at the PanAm games at the age of 41--she also has kids--and the Chilean team there had a second 40+ year old gymnast as well. Achondo has never made the Olympics though. But yes, it is extremely rare! However, gymnasts remaining in elite competition into their 30s is becoming more common. There are likely to be 7 or 8 well-known gymnasts in their early 30s competing in Paris, and I'm guessing a few others who are less well known (therefore I don't know about them). If you're curious, that includes Sanne and Lieke Wevers, Jade Barbosa, Becky Downie, Vanessa Ferrari, Alexa Moreno, Vera Van Pol, and maybe Elizabeth Seitz (Seitz was planning on training for Paris, then got a serious injury last summer, so I'm not sure what her status is).
Wow... 🎉🎉🎉Congrats to her on true living ; this is amazing... following your dreams heart & soul & living life to the fullest, keeping at it , 💘 what a talented individual who definitely blessed me with hope hearing of this news today! 🎉 an inspiration for sure !! Best wishes!
I love her completely "not bothered" facial expression after what looks to me like quite a spectacular jump; no "I nailed it" jumping around in glee, more "ho hum, now what".
Finally someone who says something nice about her hairstyle! Imagine her with lots of curls, it would look very strange! Thank you for the friendly comment! I've read a lot of different things about the way she looks❤.
Go Oksana!!! You are the Queen!!! Of course she’s going to the Olympics in 2024…8 Olympics and tons of medals…I think she should get an automatic invite…with bells and whistles, cause, Yas Queen!!!
Феноменально! Я сама занималась спортивной гимнастикой в юности. Представить не могу, чтобы в таком возрасте быть в такой форме. Чусовитина--это космическое чудо!
She is a legend. For those who asked if she was a man or a woman. She is a lovely woman with a beautiful family, a husband and a son. She recently made this hairstyle for whatever reason. Look at her younger-age performances.
Yeah.....I think she's tried to "retire" more than once, but always finds her way back. :) She still has it, and is beating out the young sprouts, so why not let her keep competing?
@@JescaML I think it is more that they have been beat down mentally and physically and are unable to stay in elite. If you don't preform on injuries it is amazing how much longer you can compete.
@@rebeccab2446 Agreed. Katelyn Ohashi was beaten down by USAG members calling her fat and so she went the College route. Now BILES has stolen the OHASHI bounce. I will NEVER EVER call that Ohashi signature move whatever Biles has named it.
She has some superior genes for sure that allows her body, ligaments, and cartilage to withstand the training it requires to remain at that level. It's quite frankly insane because I know how around 25-26ish y/o your body just sort of tells you that it can no longer take eight hours a day six times a week type training. If you don't listen to it then it makes sure to put you out of business until you learn your lesson.
She does not do six hours a day. I think that is probably the main reason she's never had a serious injury - she does not overtrain. She spends one hour a day on actual gymnastic skills, plus some cardio and some weights. However when you've been doing that one hour a day for 35 years, it sure adds up!
Pues sinceramente hace bien que siga estando, si sigue siendo de las 10 mejores y puede ganar algunas medallas en torneos menores ¿por qué no? Aparte que ya ha ganado de todo en Mundiales, Juegos Olímpicos.

Couldn't agree more LOL
Maybe we should petition FIG for her
@@annabellerevell6888I think that's a very good idea.

i want the joint supplements she uses

Причем Оксана не принимает амфетамины как Байлз
And Simone’s had a really long career herself!

She's a beast! Incredible!
I had no idea that anyone remained in elite competition this long extremely impressed
She is the only one. And she gave birth to a child along the way. Amazing.

You go girl!! Impressive to be competing at this level at her age. Gymnastics is so difficult. Congrats to her.

She rocks this haircut
I think so too! It really bring out her bone structure. And she's a working mother, too, so it'd be low maintainance, just wash it and go
I thought the same...

Its funny she said she would retire in 2016, then 2020, and now she wants to come back again! I love her fighting spirit.
