    This tutorial is fantastic. You're giving away all of Otis' secrets. Which is great. Really good video. Easy to understand. Thanks for doing this.

    Otis Spann tutorial is a video that includes all of the phrases,licks,and chops that you have taught us over the years and we are all extremely grateful Arthur..i was only a mediocre half wit player when i found your teachings..accidently surfing youtube and i clicked into your lessons and now i can finally hammer it almost like a low level virtuoso!..plenty of others out there but you dissect it in a way the viewer sees it..and sees it..and sees it thens gets it!..for me all i was lacking was some of the major/minor scales and some 7th diminish chords and thanks to you all the confusion is cleared up..for me its not a matter of copying the chops..its listening and playing from heart while remembering the original authors..in this case Otis Spann who along with Henry Gray have always been my 2 favs of all time...Arthur this lesson to me is the best of all of them..we should all thank Arthur personally for all these incredible blessed gifts...thanks soo much buddy from Okeechobee Slim on the Spacecoast

    I came into this thinking it was going to be a dud. So glad I was WRONG!!! Do you take requests for otis tunes?

    • @thearthurmigliazza
      @thearthurmigliazza  Год назад

      Thanks Jay! I do take requests from members on my members channel. It's $5/ month and you can join and cancel as you like. I have over 40 tutorials of songs already up there. I think I have only 2 otis tunes so far.

    🎵Missed this live but so happy to finally catch up with this excellent video. This is the 40th now of these member requests tutorials and there's just such a wealth of material here to absorb and get under the fingers. Repetition of these licks is the key here so no worries Arthur, we've got loads to catch up with! Listening to these greats also helps to internalise these phrases into your head and then hopefully to the fingers. Thanks Arthur for yet another Excellent tutorial!! 👏👏👏👏🎹🎹🎹👍👍🎵

    I agree with you about performance really helps you learn. When I lived in Vegas and I was working 5 to 7 days a week my playing really improved.. I've Been trying to master cocktail piano and if I don't play these songs and tricks after I learn I forget them . I had an accident and damaged my Ulnar nerve in my left hand. I stopped playing for a while and due to my age 68 the ulner damage and arthritis and neuropathy had really slowed me down. I started playing every day again for hours and that's the best physical therapy for my hands. I got back all my chops. Of course you always try to learn new stuff. I'm a proponent for PT. You must keep in motion to keep young.

    He plays solo on straight traditional blues changes, not the changes of the song. So it's like the bridge part. That's why there's no E7 Fm and other stuff. Thanks for your tutorial! Looks like it's the only one of this amazing rare live performance of Otis Spann.

    When I was young all the older black blues and R and B Jazz bands called the 1-6-2-5 or 1-6-4-5 changes " ice cream".

    Beautiful song. Do you sell the score of your interpretation? If not, can you tell me where to find it? I recently bought "How to Play Boogie Woogie Piano" from you and I find it complete. I often refer to it. Pierre
