- In this blues guitar lesson we'll talk about some rhythm and chord ideas for the progression used in Freddie King's "Ain't Nobody's Business," which is one of my favorite Gospel blues songs.
It's an 8 bar form, but I wouldn't call it an 8 bar blues, though it shares a similar turnaround to the standard 12 bar blues when played in a slow blues style.
You can use standard major and minor blues scales over various points in the progression.
Have fun with it, and as always check out BluesGuitarUnleashed.com for more blues guitar lesson, tips, and courses. Развлечения
I was studying sound engineering with former master engineer at Chess, Malcolm Chisolm. For our "final" we were in the recording studio and recorded Bobby Dixon (Willie's son), and his late sister singing this song.
I have since lost the tape of this when I moved. Bummer! Great song.
Written and first recorded 1922. Bessie Smith’s recording dates from 1923.
Fantastic, better explained than in university! The fretboard voicings are gorgeous, why didn.t I learn that earlier??? Thanx so much, a great tutorial. U made me happy for days!!! KR Henry (Germany)
Same progression as Marshall Tuckers "Ramblin' on my Mind." Have played them together, lots of fun. Thanks for sharing.
Great tutorial! I really like your style of teaching and playing. Beautiful guitar and TONE. Thank you
Waow what feel this teacher has!!
Thanks for the patient approach its really helped me see things a little better
Love this lesson, especially the explanations of why all the options work. As for the style, another great song for folks to check out is “Nobody Loves You When You’re Down and Out” from Derek and the Dominos “Layla...” album.
love the lesson and the explanations, any chance you could give a breakdown of the intro solo?
thank you so much , terrific teacher!
Thanks Griff, you really packed this lesson with all kinds of good info

Man, PQP... greetings from barão Geraldo Campinas SP Brasil
Really like your style, get some out of it too! Thanks
pretty nice
The song is from the 1920s. I love the chords.
You’re killing me with it could be this could be that, but you could play this way, but it could be that just explain it one way
Love the Davy Graham version
Guess who by BB King has a very cool sounding chord progression too in my opinion:-)
Aye Projects To Mansions!
I'm starting to understand how you can form chords by rooting them on a particular string.and also i see those F 7ths follow the CAGED layout!
I suggest you watch Tomo Fujita's videos on the CAGED system. You might improve a lot like i did.
That turnaround sequence is really sweet, is that 7 #5 chord considered an augmented chord?
almost; He just adds the dominant 7th note
Would you do a lesson on the intro you played?
thanks for this! I thought this was an 8-bar blues, and I prefer Freddie King's version
Hopefully I'll live long enough to figure out what the hell you are doing
Do you provide tab for the dvd courses?
Hello Griff,
I'm a beginner and was wondering if you would
be able to help me out and tab this out for me in
cords and fret locations.
Thanks in advance.
Why not simply play one of these voicings for the diminished chord: 2x121xx or x3424x ????
Damn
Thank you I get frustrated sometimes lol
Tbh Freddie did it in C sharp
"Jazz says it's ok..." Lol
Tab, please!
GranCalambre Use you eyes and ears dude. Why do entitled people expect someone to spend a day of their life to write down everything they do for someone else for no compensation? You can listen and watch and learn. That’s the point of video. He’s sharing a lot of his time already. You transcribe it for him. How’s that sound. Tab leeches get on my nerves.
@@forester057 well said👍
Busyfingers 24 Damn that was harsh, a year younger me.
