@@owdrumssessions Thanks for the reply! Saw on your latest vids that you are now using a 20” kick. I’m about to get a Gretsch Catalina Club but can’t decide between a 18 or 20 kick, may I ask which one you prefer if you had to choose one?
@@jkenbaltazar of course! Personally it’s a feel preference as opposed to a sound one. The 20” has more feedback when playing and I can feel the kick strokes better, whereas the 18” is effortless to play but I have less definitive feedback for kick strokes. This is solved if you’re monitoring your drum mix through headphones while you play, but if you’re just playing acoustically, then it feels weird not to hear the kick as loud as you’d expect. Given the stuff I play at the moment, the 20” is my go to, but I gig frequently with the 18”, so it depends on the situation.

I would still like something small but not too small so the Catalina Club seemed like a good choice. I think I'll be going with the 20! Thanks again!
