This reminds me of when I was a kid taking long trips every summer down south to see grandma. I enjoyed the Trailways bus ride listening to that shifting Manuel engine humming.
As a kid I was sent to Rocky Mount, NC the high was always sitting on the grandparents porch after dinner. I loved it when the northbound Trailways would get caught at the light on E.Grand Ave about 2 long blocks away. You could hear them go through the gears as they approached. I could tell the difference between the 4106 and the Eagles, which were my favorites. Thanks for the memories.
We used to go to Cherry Point M.C.A.S. just a few stops past To my Mount. It used to be the old Seashore Trailways thru coach out of New York with the final destination of Beaufort Nort Carolina. Awesome childhood memories!
Man that's your bring back memories remind me my day is working on the 05 Eagles cuz I know that's what it is with a V8 engine man that eagle sounds good but I'll tell you whoever driving it they ain't shifting it right I hear them rattles in it too who is that keep sending me that thank you hey Connie is live 2020
I remember as a kid seeing Trailways Eagle 01s on the highway with their distinct 3-piece back window. I especially liked their loud, gruffy exhaust sound as they cruised at 70mph. Those were buses!
I downloaded a copy of this, so I could hear it at 200% audio with the VLC media player. Every time the engine got above 1,500 I had an "eargasm".....damn, I wish I could ride with one of these timeless classics one more time :-)
If I ever win the lottery, the first thing I'll do is track one of these timeless beauties down, buy it, and have her restored to the cosmetic and mechanical glory she so richly deserves.
I roadtested a lot of Eagles as an inspector when Eagle Manufacturing was in Brownsville, TX. I worked there from 1975 until they closed in 1998. After you've driven them for a while it becomes 2nd nature and driving them is just like driving your car. They had a very smooth ride and with the big engines installed in the motorhome version, it would accererate like a rabbit.
The video person should have shown us more of the driver and the shifting of gears and the console drivers area. This would have made the vid much better and informative.
Chesterbarnes1 True I'm 50 and last time I road 1 I was 14 on a family reunion and all 5 had air assistant clutches 80 plus mph roaring down I 95, two GOLDEN 3 SILVERS

I grew up riding on the Model 5s. I only got to drive the Model 10s and Model 15s. Would have loved to have been able to drive a Model 5.
