I installed this in my 2019 tacoma. It didn’t get rid of any lag. It just made the throttle open more with less push. Essentially flooring it without flooring it. I sent it back for a refund. No way this thing is worth 300 dollars. If it was a 50 dollars I would be ok with it. Oh and my check engine light came on with it and wouldnt go off until I uninstalled it. Glad you guys are getting a good result. Wish I did.
I get the results I prefer by engaging the ECT PWR button around town. This changes the throttle response and shifts points to make it quicker in town traffic. On road trips I turn off for mileage since ECT prevents shifting into the overdrive gears and I never tow anyway.
@@mfwolfer my truck rarely sees 6th gear unless I’m going downhill on the freeway. The 3rd gen Tacoma’s have a gearing problem. It’s barely enough with stock tires and if you oversized at all you have to regear to 4.88 to see 6th gear.

Rob, great expert tip on not moving the seat to reactivate the ECU. Looking forward to your measurements 0-60, before after, ECT before, and ECT after. I’m very curious to these results and would be a great video. My 4*4 Sport does 0-60 in 8.7 seconds.
@@RobMotive I have a theory. The 0-60 test would show a much greater improvement in a MT due to the fact that you ask the accelerator for more gas between each shift point as most people lift off the accelerator and reaccelerate between gears. Thus there would be multiple times for throttle boost. The AT will only have it once at the beginning, so the improvement won't be as great. Now that doesn't mean it won't help a AT vehicle, the 0-60 - test is very linear, you step on the accelerator once an hold it. But we don't usually drive that way. Very curious for your results.

I was going to get sprint booster based on your positive review. However I came across a deal on a lightly used PC for only $160 that I just couldn’t turn down. To be honest I love the PC on my 2018 4x4 manual Tacoma. Running it in sport mode plus 3 has given me amazing speed boost. Can’t speak on gas mileage yet but so far I’m pretty happy with the PC. I just wish it had pedal lock like the sprint booster does, but at the price I had to go with PC.
@@RobMotive Thanks! I’m doing a 6” lift and adding 33” tires so that was the main purpose for the PC but wow, this is what the truck should have felt like from the factory. Thanks for your review on the Sprint booster I didn’t even know about these devices before your video 🤙🏾
I just wanted you to know that I took your advice and got the sprint booster for my 2020 Tacoma and I do love it I got to be honest I had my doubts at first but it is great because now I don't have to push the pedal as far to downshift into lower gears thank you for opening my eyes to this plus it is much cheaper than the throttle Commander

Hey Rob, great video. Is the throttle response with this product similar to when you push the "tow/haul" button in the Tundra? Is it worth purchasing for tge Tundra if it is real similar to simply pushing tow/haul?
Rob, Just ordered my Sprint Booster , quick question, is there a bypass mode to go back to stock or do you have to disconnect the module ? Sorry if you have already answered this question on one of your posts. Too full of Turkey to scroll through all the comments !! 😊
Turn off traction control to feel the difference. Traction control limits power to the wheels. It may actually burn out. Not a fan of these "pedal reprogrammers". I feel it puts too much unintentional wear and tear on the truck, beyond what Toyota engineers intended. It's the same as flooring it from every stop. Thanks for sharing
They are not “reprogrammers”. They do not alter the vehicles programming in any way. Definitely not the same as flooring it from every stop. I think you may need to do some research 🤔
I can’t believe I’ve watched 3 videos on trying to make a tacoma faster. Not one of them have been truthful. I’m going to make a video talking about all three. I won’t buy a truck from an owner who has done something trying to make his truck faster.

@@RobMotive by how much? Seems like an easy test to run.
See the link in the video description 👍
Aloha and good morning Rob 🙏. It's great to see that the new Tacoma is still revving up to better acceleration with the Sprint Booster 🏃♀️ 😀. Great video Rob. Now, the only thing it needs is a 0-60 test speed time.
Good morning. I’ll be timing the Tacoma soon👍
@@RobMotive Also, the Sprint Booster should improve the fuel economy on your SR5 Tacoma as well.
Hey Rob, great video. Is the throttle response with this product similar to when you push the "tow/haul" button in the Tundra? Is it worth purchasing for tge Tundra if it is real similar to simply pushing tow/haul?
Have a look at my RobMotiveFST channel. I gave my impression on it in the Tundra there👍
@@RobMotive Will do Rob, thanks!
Wow I didn’t know about this product I’m gonna buy it right now lol
Nice👍
Rob,
Just ordered my Sprint Booster , quick question, is there a bypass mode to go back to stock or do you have to disconnect the module ? Sorry if you have already answered this question on one of your posts. Too full of Turkey to scroll through all the comments !! 😊
You can turn it off by simply pushing the mode button on the controller. Very easy👍
And by the way I love your trucks
Thanks👍
Shouldve went with the pedal monster
Nope. Sprint Booster is the original and I’ve heard of dash light problems with PC. I’ve had no problems 👍
Can this damage the engine?
I don’t see how🤔
What a silver chromed button 😳 wonder what are you going to do about it? 😜
Because of placement, you can’t see it👍
Out of sight out of mind 😎
You got it! 👍👍
How many Tacomas have you had?
6 or 7….I’ve lost track🤔
Hello Rob. Gotta say, u really like pushing down that pedal :-). Have you turned off lane departure?
Lol! I do like to utilize the back of the seat! I turned that off day one! Can’t stand that feature😬
I cant believe they still have keys on those 2021 models even if it's a SR5, this is 2021 era. My 2018 MT still have keys as well.. Disappointing
I agree! They should all be push start these days👍
Put a super charger on it 🤣🤣🤣🤣 smoke and road tires. I just got banks I want the monitoring
Lol! That would be cool👍
I can’t believe I’ve watched 3 videos on trying to make a tacoma faster. Not one of them have been truthful. I’m going to make a video talking about all three. I won’t buy a truck from an owner who has done something trying to make his truck faster.
Soo… essentially, it’s a didn’t brand pedal commander?
Actually it’s the original. PC is a different named Sprint Booster.
Bro... had to turn it off after I found myself driving like a complete ass just way too many times...
Lol! It takes self control for sure😁
