  • Jehovahs Witnesses created a childrens propaganda cartoon titled caleb and sophia. In this propaganda cartoon, they discourage kids from playing video games or from pursuing higher education. that's not the only time they do it, either. In this video, i talk about what a governing body member had to say about higher education, as well.

      Why do the parents allow Caleb and Sophia in public school if they don't approve of any kind of learning? Shouldn't both kids at home with Caleb learning how to chop wood and Sophia being trained how to wait hand and foot on all of her family members? I'm just a regular Christian/Catholic, so I don't get the JWs idiocy at times. They sound more like that crazy ufo cult from the 90s than followers of Christ.

They're very good at warping their own dogma into whatever they're personally comfortable with, and only getting mildly uncomfortable when the reality of that dogma is made clear. Part of why the Governing Body has become so prominent in the past decade or so has been to crack down on the moral relativism that kept a lot of people from having too much cognitive dissonance.

    The entire cult basically boils down to "There's an all powerful tyrant in the sky and you have no option but to solely dedicate every waking hour to that tyrant, love him unconditionally, think as he demands you to, and ostrasize yourself from the rest of humanity and live a miserable life or you'll be tortured for eternity. And if you disagree you are evil for the tyrant has declared himself good and he's all-powerful thus his evil is good"

    It's sick to me that they even compare a desire to get an education with a desire to buy a video game. Like they're the same thing. I mean there's nothing wrong with video games, but a kid wanting to go to college is much more noble a pursuit than wanting to play call of duty. And I think education is a right everyone should have the chance to get. It's really sad that this girl is denied education because of her religious parents. I'm an older guy, have to tell people my own age, "..well, we're not playing 'Pong' anymore.." on a weekly basis. My own story pales in comparison to the loss of your brother, but here it is. I used to race sportscars IRL. I loved it. But it was seriously expensive, and when I got divorced, I decided I'd rather pay my child support instead of racing. And then a younger neighbor asked me to come play Gran Turismo 2 (should tell you how long ago it was! ;) ) with them. First racing game i ever saw that acted anything close to what a real car did.

Jesus, if he was real, was not white. He is Jewish with bronze colored skin and coarse hair, and middle eastern descent. JWs of all ethnicities & colors say they don’t notice color but yet they depict all the Bible characters as white, and they don’t see color, but yet they just like the Mormons, have the racist history & only 1 governing body member is black.. and he wasn’t even appointed till the late 90s…🤔also like the Mormon racist history, they use to think black or dark skin is a curse. The most unique design for a human version of God I've seen was from a terrible animated Noah's ark movie where he was portrayed as a mix of several races. That made sense to me and fit the whole "made in his image" quite literally.

      Same in the Wesleyan tradition. I grew up in Wesleyan and Nazarene Churches and in Private Baptist Schools.
      It is prideful to "flaunt your talents or power". It does get conflated with being proud of your accomplishments. I don't know how to explain it very well but it's like, if you win at a spelling bee, you will think you're a better person than everyone else. Thinking that you're a better person than everyone else is prideful. So you must humble yourself.
      If I was ever proud of myself for winning and displayed any kind of overreaction, I was shot down pretty fast. I don't think the "bags" under the eyes are intended as such. I think the artists' intent is just to narrow the eyes. Narrower eyes than those of other characters is a common way to show that a character is evil or at least untrustworthy.

    • @DigiVixen
      @DigiVixen 8 месяцев назад +5

      Maybe... Not entirely convinced by your argument, do to the inconsistency in this character designing. Like if you notice, the bully character doesn't have as pronounced bags.... because there are other traits he has that denote him as being an antag. Even the other two characters with the one holding and offering the GBA to Caleb don't have as big of bags under their eyes, they still stand out with other more background witnesses though. It almost seems like heavily veiled racism TBH.. as the gamer kids seem to be from minority groups with the gameboy one being maybe Asian (which would make sense as many popular games and devices come from those regions), and his friends being black (I forget what the third looks like)- which may be a hidden racist depiction of blacks being seen as violent thugs (thus violent video gaming).... So yeah, I'm not going to entirely dismiss it as just artistic character design because of this other factors that seem to be present. It's highly suspicious at the very least.

      As I said previously the bully doesn't seem to have them because they give him the bully tropes instead. So the bully is the 'big bad' whereas the gamer kids are just minions or 'common enemies'.

For the video game example, the video's intention is to conflate the most extreme version of a video game with every possible video game out there, so that a child like Caleb is deterred from playing them.

    3:15 I'm no longer Christian, but as an ex-missionary I can give you the answers I was taught to your two questions.
    The first question, "Why did Satan ask Jesus to prove he was the son of God?" The answer I was taught was that it was meant to tempt Jesus to give a display of his power out of arrogance and/or anger. Like if someone went up to Mike Tyson in his prime and was like, "I bet you can't actually throw a punch. You're probably just a wimpy actor who fakes everything," and that person wouldn't leave him alone. Tyson might have been tempted to give that person a display of his "ability" just to shut him/her up. It's something like that.
    The second question, "Why did Jesus talk about God forsaking him on the cross?" The church's answer to this claims that in that particular moment, Jesus took on all of humanity's sins. As a result, God the father turned away, because he can't abide sin and the penalty of sin (according to the church) is separation from God. So the story goes that Jesus in that moment underwent an agonizing separation from the "God the Father" aspect of God because he was accepting the dirtiness and penalty for everything any human has ever done wrong.
    Again, I'm no longer a Christian and see *so* many problems with the whole gospel story, the history of the Bible itself, the cult-like aspects of the church, the literal hypnosis techniques used in the average church service, etc. But I do have the education/experience as a former full time missionary to know the answers - or sometimes non-answers - the church will give to most people's questions. Or at least the answers my former denomination would give, lol. Hope that helps.

      The real reason why Jesus cried out was because he wasn't supposed to die. At that moment when the pain got so overbearing, he thought he was going to. When Jesus drank the wine that was handed up to him, what that was, it was an anesthetic that literally knocked him out unconscious. He was still alive when he was taken down off the cross, but to the guards, he appeared to have already perished, and is why his legs were never broken. They broke criminals legs back in the day to speed up their death, for they could remain alive for 3 or 4 days.

    • @nicked_fenyx
      @nicked_fenyx 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@morningglory9288 The idea that Jesus wasn't supposed to die or that the wine he eventually accepted would have knocked him out doesn't really fit with modern Christian theology for a number of reasons, both practical and in terms of fitting in with what the various gospels actually say happened. I could go into more detail about why that is, but it would be a rather lengthy post, so I'll refrain, lol. That said, it's entirely plausible that the historical man Jesus - if he did indeed exist - wasn't expecting to be killed. And we know the gospels have been significantly changed over time, so it's hard to know exactly what did or didn't happen back then.
      Per modern Christian theology, Jesus had to die, the soldiers did a thorough job ensuring that he did die, and the only wine he actually drank was the tiny amount he could get from a sponge soaked in a type of vinegar wine that happened to be in a jar nearby, most likely to address the thirst of the soldiers themselves, who frequently drank such wine. But in reality, who knows what happened? Short of inventing a time machine, I guess we'll never know.

      @nicked_fenyx I came across a RUclips channel who the speaker claims to be eye witness to the whole event. She is of the same source as Jesus and has come back to earth at this time to set matters straight as the bible is not entirely authentic. She claims Jesus was not meant to die on the cross but had to appear he had died to the guards so he could be set free. The timing his crucifixion took place, the people involved, everything was pre-planned so that he would survive his execution. The passover was the following day, and no one was permitted to remain overnight on their cross, so death had to come quickly, which was why the criminals' legs were broken to speed up their death. Nicodemus, Mary Magdalene were ready waiting for Jesus at the burial tomb with Myrrh and Aloes. These herbs have amazing healing properties which they applied to Jesus's wounds. Once he recovered to a degree, he was able to reappear to his disciples showing off his wounds to prove it was really him. He had to look different so one would recognize him, or else he'd truly be killed for real. After his fake execution, he went on to Asia and India, where he eventually died at the age of 80 yrs in Kashmir India.
      I cannot direct you to the said RUclips channel or mention names as "you tube" deletes my answer immediately, but you can research his travels to India on other You Tube channels.
      Oh, and just out of interest, Jesus did not die for mankind's sins. This too is a major lie that men who compiled the books of the bible together wanted readers to believe. There are many books that were purposely omitted from the common bible because they didn't fit the narrative men wanted to portray, and much of the scriptures in the bible is not truly authentic.

    • @morningglory9288
      @morningglory9288 8 месяцев назад

      @nicked_fenyx Also out of interest, Jehovah/Yahweh/LORD in the Hebrew scriptures is actually Satan the devil. He was the one cast out of heaven when the rebellion took place. He once worked harmoniously with the true God of divine love....the woman or Mother/Source who birthed an androgynous child (neither male nor female) in Revelation chptr 12, but her male counterpart grew exceedingly jealous of her, desiring exclusive devotion for himself. He turned evil and at that point was cast out of heaven down to earth. This God at that point became Jehovah/Yahweh/LORD who is Satan the devil. It is why Jesus rebuked the Hebrews/Israelites and the false religious leaders stating they were from their father the devil who was a liar and a murderer from the beginning, and they did the works of their father. (John 8:44) It was also Jehovah/Yahweh/LORD/Satan who brought on the flood in Noah's day to destroy all the humans who were prospering at that time.

About 10yrs ago, my g/f and I had a pretty good vintage gaming suite. We invited a younger (ex-Catholic) buddy of mine from work to dinner. All through the meal, he kept looking over at our old Sega Genesis. We asked him if he'd had one as a kid. "Oh, no. My parents wouldn't let me near the things. I'd occasionally play at a friend's house, but got laughed at because I wasn't good at it." We immediately fired it up, plugged in Sonic 2, and told him to have at it. He played for three hours, almost teared up as we cheered him through the levels. He later said it was one of the best nights of his life. He's been playing ever since - and now that I'm in my 60s (my hands are arthritic now), he absolutely crushes me on FIFA. Makes me smile.

Those of us who play stand across the street in back of a supermarket to play. They actually called the police several times but the cops said as long as we don't go on the property or disturb their worship service we aren't doing anything wrong. Since most playets hang out at 5 minutes the most and leave I find it amusing the Witnesses are getting so hysterical.

I asked my mom to click on it, and it was a picture of me and my little brother in the car, I was probably six and my brother four, and my brother and me were watching my grandma's tablet in my lap. i looked absolutely livid and my brother was falling asleep. I made a comment about me looking mad being because my lil bro was falling asleep on my shoulder, and my mom said, "actually, you were mad because grandma was making you watch Caleb and Sofia on her iPad, and it was so boring that you got mad and (brother's name) was falling asleep." JWs exclude themselves from higher education and see careers as worldly. This means that they tend have low-paid jobs and would be unable to afford private education. As any expenditure on setting up schools is money that could just go directly into the organisation's coffers, there is zero incentive for them to set up such schools. Besides, the world is going to end any day now, so there's really no point.

    To answer the Nephilim question
    No, they were not created by demons mating with humans. It says in the Bible that the seraphim, angels, came down and fell in love with human women and that gave birth to the Nephilim. They’re not part demon they’re part angel.

    • @morningglory9288
      @morningglory9288 8 месяцев назад

      It's literally impossible for spirit beings to have sexual relations with women. Its just not genetically possible. Besides the Nephilim were not violent, but peaceable, and is why the population of giants took off again in the land flowing with milk and honey....prosperous. (Numbers 13:25-32)

    • @DigiVixen
      @DigiVixen 8 месяцев назад

      You're actually only half right. Yes they are part angel..... but that doesn't mean they aren't part demon.... demons including Satan himself are fallen angels. So seraph's that left Heaven to have children with human women which was forbidden, thus turning them into demons, as they weren't supposed to leave Heaven, nor have that sort of relationship with human woman- in some versions say it was forcible in nature.Neph's are their offspring... basically they are comparable to demi-gods like Hercules, but evil as they became bullies and tyrants of non-neph's IIRC.

    The Nephilim stuff is not made up by JWs exclusively, its part of the biblical apocrypha. The funniest thing about this though is if they know about the apocrypha, I find it fascinating that they chose these stories but conveniently skipped over any of the Gnostic gospels -- as it violates thejr beliefs. Ironically, those stories contradict what we're told Jesus and His mission were all about.

      @@morningglory9288 I'm confused... Why are we now talking about the flood? I just read the chapter and it doesn't describe the descendants of Anak as peaceable. It doesn't say they were all just willing to give their own land, I read a few chapters ahead and it seems they were able to get the land because god wanted them to. It mentioned nephlims but that was when the guys who were scared were trying to scare everyone else, they were explicitly lying to scare everyone else which ended up upsetting god (given I don't claim to know how much of it was intended to be a lie and which bits of it are true) I see a parenthesis pointing out that the descendants of Anak were giants and descendants of nephilim.
      I'm lost here, (and honestly curious)

      @Ares_V this may seem hard to believe, but I actually got my understanding from another You Tube channel where the speaker claims to be eye witness to events that occurred on earth. She comes from the same source as did Jesus and recalls her prehuman existence back literally billions of years. So she claims that Ham was one of the Nephilim who boarded the ark. The Nephilim were not violent at all, not how the bible portrays them, but were in fact extremely kind, peaceable and gentle. They were the first humans that were on earth, in fact they were the 144,000 who were sent to earth to assist the second creation of humans (descendants of Adam and Eve) how to read write, grow food, learn other life skills and advance in knowledge. They were truly advancing and prospering, which angered Jehovah/Yahweh and is why he brought on the flood. He wanted to wipe out the whole generation of people because they were truly getting ahead and achieving in life. The Nephilim being spiritual beings perished, but their spirit which is pure light was claimed back to the true God of divine love. Because water interacts with light, this causes diffusion and whatnot, so the rainbow was formed. The rainbow is a constant reminder to the true God of love (MOTHER or source) of her offspring, the 144,000 that perished in the flood.
      Ham, however, was one of the Nephilim who boarded the ark. He was the reason giants reappeared on earth after the great flood as their genetics stemmed back to Ham. I'd like to tell you the name of the channel, but as soon as I send links or give out any information, You Tube deletes my answer. Perhaps you could private message me.....

      I think this part of 'gateway' behaviors that they fear. With the cheating thing, I get the feeling that the boy that offered the answer may have had a crush on Sophia. He wanted to help her cheat because he liked her or some such and that goes to not having those kinds of relationships with folks that don't share your faith (there's a verse in the NT about it). And with Caleb it's more like if you play violent video games then you'll start acting out in real life by joining gangs and shooting up real people in real life......

      Well that's your experience. I just know of experiences, or claimed experiences of that's what they fear, whether or not those fears are _actually_ real or not. It's that whole idea of it. Plus my example with the cheating thing comes straight from the Chunin Exams in Naruto, where Hinata who has a crush on Naruto, offers to let him cheat off of her because she doesn't want him to fail the test, and thus not be able to be in her life as much anymore. Plus she knew that he was terribly bad at written tests... My thought is the boy may know that Sophia struggled with that particular math equation, and wanted to help her because he liked her and wanted to see her succeed....
