I wondered what you would do with your images, and as always you've done a great job, the black and white just makes it! I always find a new location a challenge, but as you quite rightly said its not always about the images, and what a great day out it was, it will be a long long time before I forget the racing chickens!!!! Looking forward to the next instalment
I've lived on skye my whole life and just stumbled across this today with my son. Your video has been the only information we have found about the ship! Hoping to pick some locals knowledge of the area, its hauntingly beautiful and we would love to find out more about it. Your pictures of it are great!
What a welcome change to see someone photographing a new location. I see endless videos of photographers in well known locations so this was really refreshing as well as an adventure into the unknown. Well done, loved the dramatic monochromes.
What an absolute gem of a find! It's always such a joy to be able to explore and discover new things like this. The images all look really great. The time lapse of the water swallowing the shipwreck was really great, a real showcase of how hidden it is.
Love the video and the story- well done-- The only shot I wish you had done a still on was when the older wreck was about half covered in water- in the video it looked like it had potential. Just the outside curves and the center line was showing. As always fantastic job
Wowww what a find Gary, just goes to show Google does not know ' everything ' - the drone fly over with the incoming tide and showing reflections of the mountains on that wreck was AMAZING !!! Thanks for sharing, from a girl in down under Australia !!!!
I am a bit late to the show to give a comment. I recently bought this book and I am looking forward to discovering new locations on a few trips I have planned to Scotland. A few months to plan. Great location, I will follow the directions and see where it takes me. Great video Gary. 👍
We have visited the shipwreck you found on previous visits to Skye . We loved the images you produced from here . I wondered what the book was that you read this from. I love books about the history of Skye and would be interested in reading this one x
Wow! Absolutely stunning. All the images were. I love how in the video you talk about the struggle of putting the wreck in a scene, leaving us to think the images would be disappointing, but they are anything but. One day I will get to Skye. I believe I have found the location, as Gary did not reveal the exact location, I will respect his wishes and will not reveal. I did find one photograph of the wreck online on Alamy, but that also does not reveal the exact location. Finding it was like trying to find a pin in a haystack.
WOW ...... Just WOW! I really wish this video was much longer. I love areas like that to photograph and have learned so much from your technique, style, and vision. I really thought I wanted to go to Iceland for a photography vacation, but now I'm thinking I will look into the Isle of Skye with an extended vacation! Thanks so much!
I for one, would have given my eye teeth for your work and experience and the images you produced in this beautiful location. Nice one, beautiful and stunning.
Great video. I really liked the time lapses both of you working the scene and of the wreck submerging. I’d have liked to see some stills as the sea surrounded the wreck.
Hats off Gary for the work you seem to have had to do to locate this place. Finding a new location on such a photography Mecca as Skye takes some doing!
Another great video Gary. No wonder you were confused as nothing was mentioned in Google or anywhere else about the shipwreck. I can understand why it was so difficult to photograph it. Still you managed to get some really nice image's. Loved the time lapse of the tide coming in.
Thanks, Gary! Great moments you had! That's all our photography is about... Great moments for life. I use the same 5D IV,. Now just coming back from Patagônia to my home in Brazil. Got some good results there. Would it be possible to write to you in a private media? Best from South Brazil. Julio.
Hi Gary, don't know if you've already seen or heard about the shipwreck on ainsdale beach, nr Southport. It's called the Star of Hope, and really can only be seen at low tide, but to capture it in front of a setting sun is amazing, maybe another day out 😂
What a great adventure - I would be very happy with those shots & wow what dedication - a whole day at a single location - good job you have the van for a bit of R&R... I think my enthusiasm would have 'waned' well before the tide returned. Great shots & video as always👍
Hi Gary. What got me about the boat wreck is how ghostly it looked. Absolutely awesome! Isn't it weird how it's not on the internet or on any OS maps even?
Your images never disappoint, no matter how challenging the scene may be! Your creativity and skills always pull a rabbit out of the hat! Thanks for taking me along on this adventure!
Absolutely amazing! What an adventure and the images were so emotionally moving. I found I had goosebumps as the wreck went back under the water. It was visible for only you (and us) on the day . I enjoyed this so much. Thank you for sharing.
You always manage to get amazing images. I wasn't sure what you would get or how you would shoot but they were awesome. Cool location and story. And the chickens....classic.
I love your Fine Art Photography. I have recently been going through your RUclips channel and I love it all but the fine art seems to tweak my interest more. I am a virgin photographer and would love to learn this technic. Little money at the time. Older Nikon D5100 camera and a Canon T something I will be getting from my mom. Medically retired and bored out of my tree, so I thought photography would be something new to learn away from being an electrician for the last 37 years.
What a great video. Thank you for the superb narration, video footage (including drone shots) and ............. the mystery! I kept wondering what was the ship, who were the crew, what cargo did it move (or fish), and how did it end up where it did. Someone, somewhere will know, either first hand or by tales passed down generations. Good health!
This one was such an amazing episode to watch, really drew me in, and accompanied by some superb photography. Thanks for putting the effort into making these for us to enjoy, proper quality content.
Awesome video and pictures. Very interesting subject and location. I am going to poke around internet and see if there is any info about the Mary Grimes. Sounds like you did some research and there isn’t which is a shame. You did a lovely job!
Hi Gary. I was totally immersed in your video and enjoyed every second of it. Your story telling skills, photography skills, and videography skills are amazing. This is the most interesting video I’ve watched in months! We’ll done.
fantastic sight to be hold it could easily be a dinosaur or nessy,s jaw bone ! the drone caught the best of it but fairplay the black and white treatment worked great !
While your at that location, you might want to look up the gang from online photography, I believe they are based out of Isle of skye area. Would make a great video if you and that group would join up and do some shooting together!🙂📸
I like how the wreck still has a rope attached...in case it floats away? The 'newer' boat might have been nice if light painted in the darkness. Great shots though.
What a cool and interesting video. I appreciate your determination in locating this old wreck and sharing your find with all of us. Now.....are you going to tell Google? 😂😂😂
As I am on my way to the Isle of Sky I want to find this special place. Google Earth shows it under Duart Cottage, I hope it is about there I am not sure. I try to compare the shapes of the mountains in your video with what Google Earth shows but it is impossible. How ever I will drive there and see. Thanks for this wonderful video and thumbs up!!! for your pictures. Especially the black&white ones.
Not at all. The ship wreck is located on the IOS as shown in the video. According to the book it’s at Duart Bay. Duart Bay doesn’t exist on the IOS and the wreck fails to show up in Google. Hence I followed the instructions in the book and looked for myself.
I wondered what you would do with your images, and as always you've done a great job, the black and white just makes it! It's all about the adventure. Thanks for the drone work footage 👍👍
Beautiful shots and I also find the Timelapse of the wreck disappearing below the water coupled with your choice of music very moving. Thank you Gary.

Thanks. Cheers Peter 👍👍

Black and White was a good choice. Really captures the contrast and sets a mood.

Never too late. Cheers Peter 👍

What an incredible photo adventure! Thanks for taking us along with you to discover this piece of history. Incredible photography as well.
Cheers 👍👍
Boy, would I love to be there! What history is known of this ship? Thank you for lovely pictures!
I have a little info. I’ll follow up the story in a couple of weeks

One of those rarer moments finding something fairly unique in terms of subject and location. Enjoyed this Gary
I for one, would have given my eye teeth for your work and experience and the images you produced in this beautiful location. Nice one, beautiful and stunning.
Absolutely amazing, love the B&W images, did you have to have special permission to go near the wreck at all?
Great video. I really liked the time lapses both of you working the scene and of the wreck submerging. I’d have liked to see some stills as the sea surrounded the wreck.
Excellent video very interesting to watch, thanks for sharing Gary..
Many thanks
Hats off Gary for the work you seem to have had to do to locate this place. Finding a new location on such a photography Mecca as Skye takes some doing!
Cheers Steve 👍👍
Now this was all kinds of wonderful! I watched it with my son and he was fascinated at the location and loved the shots !! Me too BTW, 👏👏
You're lad has great taste :) Cheers Darren xx
Great video, neat ship and pictures. There is a Duart Bay on the Isle of Mull. Thanks
Great to see such an awesome new location Gary. Congrats, fascinating...
Another great video Gary.
No wonder you were confused as nothing was mentioned in Google or anywhere else about the shipwreck.
I can understand why it was so difficult to photograph it.
Still you managed to get some really nice image's.
Loved the time lapse of the tide coming in.
Great job and very interesting 👍👍👍.
Beautiful pictures!
What a great adventure. Thanks for taking us along.
Great images as always and some with that sad moody atmosphere that comes with a lost ship.
WHAT A FIND!!!
You manage to deliver every single week ! Stunning images absolutely beautiful GG.
Thanks, Gary!
Great moments you had!
That's all our photography is about... Great moments for life.

Amazing. Thank you for the "journey" to Duart Bay. Enjoyed your images as well.
Great find and great images especially the black and white ones of the wreck.

Love this one Gary and not a single long exposure keep it up mate!

Ease into it Mike. You don't need to buy the best gear on the market either. 👍👍
Absolutely worth the time you spent there, amazing find Gary and fantastic images as always, the drone footage was also amazing, Thanks for sharing
Great video Gary! Had the feel of a good old treasure hunt! Keep that book handy, you may find some more gems in there!
What a great video. Thank you for the superb narration, video footage (including drone shots) and ............. the mystery! That’s exactly what l thought Gary, the fishing boat looked a far better prospect!
Top - notch Gary.
What a cool and interesting video. I appreciate your determination in locating this old wreck and sharing your find with all of us. Now.....are you going to tell Google? 😂😂😂

I am a little confused, you are talking about the ship wreck on the Isle of Skye??
When Duart's Bay seems to be on the Isle of Mull??
Was this ment to be a April fool??
Not at all. The ship wreck is located on the IOS as shown in the video. According to the book it’s at Duart Bay. Duart Bay doesn’t exist on the IOS and the wreck fails to show up in Google. Hence I followed the instructions in the book and looked for myself.
That was the whole point of the film
Excellent!
Thank you!
You're welcome! Cheers Des 👍👍
Fantastic video! Would you mind sharing the title of the book?
This is a link to the book. It's on page 50 amzn.to/3Ukj7pr (affiliate link but the price is still the same)
I absolutely love skye it's magical .❤
You go to the most incredible places.
Oh my god you found it !!! That was potentially the ship my ancestor was from he was a sailor he was on a ship that wrecked at the Ile of skye
Oh cool. You should try and find more info on the wreck your family member was on 👍👍
B&W moody and my preference, video really showed how you work to get your images.
Beautiful
Thank you
Great location!
Wonderful!
Many thanks! 👍👍
Being there's no Google info on this reck .
What can you tell about the sinking if you learned anything more ?
Great great great
Hi Gary, great work in the video. I've sent you a PM in regards to the video. Hope you can take the time to respond.
Hi Will, I responded m8. Hope all is well
Can someone tell me what is the date of that ship?
19th century lugger is all I can find.
