Alien Animatronic Restoration Day 1: Getting to the mouth mechanism

- Day one of fixing the animatronic from the infamous Dunk N' Alien game. Got to his mouth mechanism today and got it un-jammed, the solenoid piston just fell out of place when I unscrewed something on his back, and it now allows his jaw to finally get pushed down. Gonna try to figure out how to perform surgery on this guy, his entire body is a singular plastic piece so I can't necessarily open it up like most animatronics (this character was designed to fall at the speed of gravity multiple times a day, so he's EXTREMELY tough to crack open).
Once I get his cylinder in I'm gonna try to somehow get his goggles off of him so I can put new ones on that aren't drawn on. The top screw was being annoying and won't come out, so that's another problem for another day. Развлечения
New to the restoration video format, maybe in the future I'll try doing some more editing rather than just uploading short random clips. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.
He's looking cool
Awesome find.. I’ve been wanting this prop for a while since I remember playing the game fondly as a child at my local CEC- I’ll definitely be following this.
Bro ur so underrated! I’ve been wanting to make animatronics for a while and you,sjc entertainment and someone else(i can’t remember their name) are my inspiration!
I wish you luck on its restoration!
Nice

I wonder what it smells like
Key lime pie 🥧 🍋🟩
Straight up gasoline 💯💯
Quick question if you don’t mind me asking, why not keep him running on solenoids?
Voltage. I cannot identify what the amount of voltage is required for the solenoid inside of him. Since most electric solenoids are under 24v (which is what my controller outputs), there’s a good chance I’m gonna fry something if I try to wire up the solenoid that was in there.
Also the actual cylinder shaped part of the solenoid randomly popped off from its rod, so it’s basically broken and won’t work anyways.
Nice
