I’ve got this very car and I love it. I guess I’m the sort of customer they target. The battery isn’t under the boot but between the driver and front passenger seat hence the stupidly small storage space which is the one thing I hate about it. My iPhone pro max doesn’t even fit in it. I think it is a handsome car in an understated way. I love the turn of speed that allows you to put the car where you need it. A lot of my driving is local and I run it in ev (pure) mode most of the time on free electricity. Boot is big enough for me.
Bootspace is the same as ICE only cars wich is 529L. The battery sits between the front and rearaxle whear a driveshaft would be in an ICE V60 with awd. This awd is ICE on the frontaxle and electric on the rear.
I’ve got the V60 T8 455bhp and the badge on the video says T6 which is actually the 345bhp model. I think you would definitely forget the size of the boot if you drove the T8 as that is seriously quick and I came from an Alfa Stelvio Quadrofoglio. I have gone from spending £300 pm in fuel to now around £50 pm for the same mileage.
It’s my first Volvo and first estate. The quality is really good, infotainment works well and the engine does sing when in power mode. I’m not sure about the t8 wheels as on the video so I’ve changed mine for Romac Diablo’s
@@dylan_s1 I have the V60 T8 recharge as well. I like it. The drivetrain is awesome. My prior car was a V90cc. I thought I would miss the bigger boot but I don't. The V60 handles luggage for two easily. That said I do miss the overall more comfort of the V90cc.
Looked at one of these a while back and the boot was a no no for this size of Estate. Not sure what they were thinking. Rest of the car nice but a showstopper for me.
@@NobbyOnCarshave 3 large hounds in the back of my v90 cross country and it's fine for shorter trips, anything longer and I drop the seats. It's a lot bigger than that tho. Every time I think of changing it I realise I'd need to spend double what I get for it to match it's spec and practicality. It's also economical for such a big car. The cream interior is what you want, I wasnt sure about it when buying it but glad I did now. Have that electric towbar too, nightmare of a thing. Control module went twice with barely any use. Over engineered, get a detachable mechanical one would be my recommendation. I prefer the design of the rear of this to the v90, slightly squarer and looks better for me. Scandalous they've rail-roaded everyone into suvs and stopped making estates.
like it. The bonnet is long, and the boot looks short, like the drivers are further back in the overall design compared to other estates. Toyota TS has a much shorter bonnet. The lift back capability of the saloon-esque skoda superb gives the big opening, more space etc. without going for combi. Does the V60 have the sound proof capability of the XC60? On test drive it really positively surprised me
Great video as always. The boot compromise highlights the issue of converting existing ICE cars into something they were never designed to be. I’d still have it though 🤣
Not really a great video because he didn't have all the facts to hand, quoting a power output at 455bhp when he was driving a T6 with 345 bhp is a serious error in this business, he was totally unaware of where the batteries were stored as well, that tells me he hasn't done his homework, these are big issues he's got wrong, he kept banging on about the size of the boot, well if you wanted a bigger boot you'd buy the V90 , no one would bang on about a house being too small if you bought a two bed semi, then complained it doesn't have three bedroom, so I would say he needs to study a lot more before making anymore video's !
Got mine, a v90 cross country, at exactly 3 years old with 50k kms, as new condition and top spec from a main dealer up north, Inc 1500 I paid for extras, price came to just over 33k including vrt. Well under half what it would have cost new. 4 years later and I'd get most of that back if I sold it. Depreciation is the best thing ever so long as someone else is dealing with it.
@@PriitKaru He doesn't know what he's on about, that's the problem, he said it had 455 bhp, when he was driving a T6 with 345 bhp ! How on earth does anyone make such a glaring mistake, then he rattled on about the batteries being in the back, which again was wrong, it shows he made this video without doing the prep work beforehand !

Looks like a nice car
If that's a T6.......it's 350hp Nobby, The 455hp one is the T8
And the boot is 520L afaik.
Also the battery is under the arm wrest not in the boot....

Shows how poor his knowledge is, Volvo are one of the few manufacturers who are not compromised rear boot space for batteries, lazy journalism.

How do you find the car overall, interested in buying one

Your electricity is for free?
Yes, it would be insightful to know roughly how you spent on electricity.

Press the left arrow on the left side of the steering wheel to turn it off….
I've got the T6, it's 345bhp. Love it, so smooth to drive compared to my old Focus ST estate!
Could you compare thid V60 T6 Recharge with the new VW Passat PHEV ehybrid?
apparently push the left arrow on the left side after starting to stop the beeping.

If it’s just the one dog etc it would probably work but yeah, a bit comprised.

As PHEV estate boots go it’s still bigger than the equivalent PHEV estate boot of a 3 series or Class

Reading recently about the xc40 having a very back paint job, hope they got it sorted for this model
Can’t you turn the beep thing off if you turn off the speed sign recognition by swiping left on the home screen?
Got to love a Volvo, especially when you wait for depreciation to kick in 😏

beautiful car bit small think I'd go for estate superb
It was nice looking about 6 or 7 years ago. Design looks a bit dated for me
The boot looks no bigger than my phev megane estate Mark & although it's adequate, it's not big!! Not good enough for a Volvo imo.
Another reviewer obsessed by the boot. What is it about boots and reviewers. Im just waiting for the saftey bings to upset you....😂
I dunno, something about an estate and a larger boot. There’s literally no other reason for an estate design
@@NobbyOnCars The boot is a super decent size and has not lost any space compared to the ICE version, so I'm not quite sure what you're on about.
