Alice and Kate will meet up at some point and Kate will let the psycho-murderer go because “she’s my sister” 7. Luke will be useless because he’s Muffin Luke and not Ripped Gun Luke 8. Mary will be doing doctor stuff without using her cure-all super blood that she has 9. Jacob Kane will try to do something morally correct but fail because he’s a man 10. Sophie will do gay stuff while lamenting her relationship with Kate 11. Terrible CGI and fight choreography All with terrible, preachy writing that hurts your brain. Predictions 6, 7, and 9 were completely wrong as Kate finally locked up Alice, Luke’s plot was interesting and Jacob’s morally correct decision is presented as a good one. Booster Gold is egotistical hero, next to no one likes him because his arrogant attitude, but he is redeemed with fact that he wants to save lives. Also, his arrogant nature is softened by playing him as a comical character. Everyone that hates booster hates him because of his personality. Batwoman here is the opposite, as her ego is next to never plaid as a negative thing (as in people don't point out that things failed because she was too arrogant , without shitting on batman by saying "he did it too, but you are not doing his mistakes, as you are the true hero that the Gotham needs and deserves"), people that hate her do it because they don't like gays or women, not because she doesn't capture criminals when she is able to or that she attacks officers of the law. She also is plaid very seriously, so her arrogance comes of grading, especially since her many, many failings aren't addressed and every character lionizes her and the Batwoman as "greatest human beings", without giving the audience a reason to think so. Every argument ends with either her being proven right or her being wrong, but the characters telling her that she was still right.
One of my favorite scenes in any DC cartoon, is one of Boosters from one of the newer cartoons. I call it the ‘Rat Guy’ scene, as Booster explains that his job is like a guy who cleans rats out of an attic. It’s not glamorous, it’s never thanked, it could even be really dangerous, but it’s necessary.
Man, what a boring as hell looking Arkham. It's so bland, like they rented out a community college for a few shots. They could've at least had a bit of fun with this setting, really play up the asylum to be interesting visually, but it's nothing. It matches the show itself, I guess. The entire setting is so bland and forgettable and lacks any kind of identity. If it wasn't for the shitty costumes the characters occasionally have, you wouldn't even be able to tell that this was a comicbook universe. Hell, Joker was intentionally set in a more realistic city and its Gotham had far more personality to it.
You got it wrong, before she had only killed innocent people, now she killed another bad person, she's feeling guilty after killing of her own, it makes perfect sense

The idea behind 'killer hero' arc is that you establish the hero, their motivations and how far they will go and what will break their resolve. So in the 16th episode you tackle that with barely any development of your hero over what. Mass murdered, almost school blowed upper for the reason that she is genetically related. They couldn't even put in the work to show why the relationship is so 'deep' to the point that they expect ESP. The only thing we know is that they are just sisters. So glad we got to see the batwoman recast reaction.
17:02 Yeah... that's not how court works. A retrial is what takes place if the trial is currently going and tom fuckery is discovered. The team SHOULD be Luke as the bad ass vigilante Bat-Wing and Mary as his Alfred character thanks to her medical knowledge because they are the only semi-likeable characters in this show. Also, as much as I hate that she's an 'influencer' that would mean she could have connections to people which would also help the team a lot. This show could be decent (I don't know about great or even good) if they just took what they have and slightly move everything around. The pieces are there they are just assembling the puzzle upside down, blindfolded, and with the picture side face down.
I honestly just wish there was one CW hero show, since they seem intent on making more, that was a team. Like I don't want "Team Flash" or "Team Arrow." I just want Flash and Green Arrow. The teams are there solely for the drama and it is the fucking worst part of these shows.
If this was in the format of an unbridled rage instead of EFAP, I can hear mauler screaming, “FUCK YOU SHOW! You just had to ruin the only decent scene in the entire show. All you’ve accomplished is proving momentarily that some of the actors you hired actually have talent. I find it to hard to believe it was for narrative reasons, because you’re narrative is horrendously inconsistent unless it’s agenda filled garbage you label as world building. Whomever wrote this bullshit had a brief moment of character growth, and literally murdered it via plot sniper.” Or something like that. I’m not in his head.
I swear, with the direction Kate's """character""" is going and the penchant the showrunners have for stealing both good and bad scenes from other shows and movies, they are one step away from ripping the training sequence from the shit Daredevil movie set to 'Bring Me To Life' by Evanescence and putting it in this show.
@@matthiasthulman4058 Stuff from the Nolan films come to mind immediately. They had the whole 'what happens when villains start killing to draw you out' thing in like episode 5 or something, the training sequence in a frozen remote location (though it was hilariously rushed in batwomz). They recently had a dream sequence episode where one or all of the characters gets to confront their fears and Kate's already been pushed into killing someone which was the CLIMAX of The Dark Knight and had massive repercussions on the third film (even with how terrible it was), but Kate just gets over it in like a few episodes and doesn't really seem to care too much. There was also the dilemma where Kate has to choose whether to save people in the moment or go get the suit in episode 3 (but it was just completely missed by the show and I think the writers didn't even notice that that should've been an issue). It's also been TRYING to tackle social issues, something that other shows have actually done with subtlety and nuance whereas BW just dives in with a sledgehammer and ends up accidentally seeing an almost-murderer as morally right. There's also a bunch of other stuff I can't remember right now but it's throughout the show. Normally i'd be more charitable and say that the show was only 'inspired' by other content but with how uncreative and talentless the writers of this show seem to be, it comes off as stealing moreso than it does inspiration.
Probably not in one of these unfortunately, I think they'd said they'd already recorded the last few episode on HvB's batwoman discussion and I think that came out around the same time that the show announced the new batwoman actress.
Cartoon Critique I gotta say their disbelief at how easy it was to break into Arkham was silly. That place might as well go on the honor system with how many people escape it.
That was a clever twist, I have to admit (expecting the "hero" to actually do her f*cking job). She had to beat up a bunch of innocent police officers to accomplish it, but Kate giving Alice the justice she deserves was well worth it.
Having seen the last episode courtesy of J Longbone, all I can say is that I'm VERY interested in how they're going to explain Batwoman having an entirely new face, on top of suddenly being black. I have a couple of theories, but right now my favorite two are: "We can rebuild her," where Kate gets in some kind of accident like Mauler suggested, and they come up with some bullshit explanation on why they had to change her entire body, or Kate realizes that she's not cut out to be Batwoman, so just like the Batman she keeps saying she's better than, she runs away and is never seen again. That would be the ultimate irony.
It took 16 episodes for the show to have a good scene where the guys forgot they were watching Batwoman, but something...alright, something good. CW: Not on our watch! *snipes* NOW CUT BACK TO ALICE AND KATE!
lol i thought that blood effect when the doctor injecting that thing into mouse was actually in the episode thats how cheap they are. I actually believed it was

Julia saves Sophie but rolls over to straddle her and quip. When Archer chases women mid-mission, it's funny. When BW does it, it's cringe. Why? Because Archer is a comedy riddled with irony. BW takes itself seriously and wants us to as well.

Seriously the laser pointer on a sniper rifle thing needs to die. It's one of the stupidest tropes out there, but man, doing it tree times in the episode and not realizing how stupid it looks is a whole new level.
Really, the only time you should use a laser sight for dramatic effect is when multiple laser sights are trained on a surrounded character as intimidation. The moment you're trying to actually kill someone, the laser sight needs to go!
I'm still finding it hard to believe Kate has the physique to hurt anyone as Batwoman, let alone be accepted into the military for such a frail frame. I also can't stand how much overacting Alice does in every scene. The actress clearly wants to be an edgier joker, but she can't pull it off to save her life.

That song has aged really horribly
If they did that that’d be hilarious.

Linkin Park circa 2000-2004 is too good for this show. They need Linkin Park circa 2017, or Bones UK.

I agree all "good" shows should have one that pops up when a character reaches their peak of being interesting. The genius being that the fans will never be satisfied and will keep coming back in the hopes that a good character will be included in the show. Which they will never receive. 16 long episodes in, an actual writer crawls his way out of the dungeon, blood dripping from is gnarled fingers as he finally,
FINALLY manages to type out two pages.
Then the horror music starts as a feminist walks into the room, "Making the straight man look good? You almost had us, making sure you picked a racial minority, but did you think You could get away with locking up a woman? No. Back to the dungeon with you..."
Okay, checklist/prediction time:
1. MetalCommander longs for the sweet release of death
2. Fringy comments about his hatred of this show as he’s a fan of the Batman Comics
3. MauLer successfully predicts something that happens in the episode
4. Rags begs for the death of Alice as she’s a terrible person
5. Ruby Rose’s acting will be subpar at best, horrendous at worst
6. Alice and Kate will meet up at some point and Kate will let the psycho-murderer go because “she’s my sister”
7. Luke will be useless because he’s Muffin Luke and not Ripped Gun Luke
8. Mary will be doing doctor stuff without using her cure-all super blood that she has
9. Jacob Kane will try to do something morally correct but fail because he’s a man
10. Sophie will do gay stuff while lamenting her relationship with Kate
11. Terrible CGI and fight choreography
All with terrible, preachy writing that hurts your brain.
EDIT: Okay then, turns out I was half wrong in this episode.
Predictions 6, 7, and 9 were completely wrong as Kate finally locked up Alice, Luke’s plot was interesting and Jacob’s morally correct decision is presented as a good one.
Predictions 8, 10, and 11a (CGI) didn’t happen because Sophie and Mary weren’t in the episode enough, and there wasn’t a ton of CGI in the episode.
So yeah, this episode was pretty good (for Batwoman)!

FULLY AGREE
This is probably the biggest guilty pleasure of my life. Some things are bad in a boring way, this show is bad in an endlessly entertaining way.
"I think this show's just given up."
Bold of you to assume they had a will to begin with.
This show basically says, "Its okay to be a Supervillain for your psycho sister,"
I would LOVE to see this Batwoman in Justice League and get the same treatment as Booster! 😂
@carabe197 Hey, another Booster fan.
Best episode, EASILY!!!!

If the trial is done and sentencing is finished then he would simply go free, no second trial on the grounds of double jeopardy. You can not be tried for the same crime twice.

Like I don't want "Team Flash" or "Team Arrow."
I just want Flash and Green Arrow. The teams are there solely for the drama and it is the fucking worst part of these shows.
And a hammer to make all the pieces fit, no matter if they supposed to
If this was in the format of an unbridled rage instead of EFAP, I can hear mauler screaming,
“FUCK YOU SHOW! Whomever wrote this bullshit had a brief moment of character growth, and literally murdered it via plot sniper.”
Or something like that. I’m not in his head.
Gotta love how Alice could have been captured easily at any point throughout the episode but they had to have this elaborate plan to actually do it.
Looks like another Alice episode, then again every episode is an Alice episode.
But the instead play "I'm jus a Girl"
XD
What other scenes have they ripped off? I'm curious, just not enough to actually watch the whole show to look for them
@@matthiasthulman4058 Stuff from the Nolan films come to mind immediately.
Salutations my N words
33:21 So THIS episode was when they found out that Ruby left the show. I wonder when they'll find out about the new casting with an OC replacing Kate.
Probably not in one of these unfortunately, I think they'd said they'd already recorded the last few episode on HvB's batwoman discussion and I think that came out around the same time that the show announced the new batwoman actress.
I’m still stunned that she actually did the right thing and put Alice in jail. I’m sure next episode she’s going to go free Alice from prison

Word. I loved when Mauler exploded during the betray-alice-scene.
Having seen the last episode courtesy of J Longbone, all I can say is that I'm VERY interested in how they're going to explain Batwoman having an entirely new face, on top of suddenly being black.
I have a couple of theories, but right now my favorite two are:
"We can rebuild her," where Kate gets in some kind of accident like Mauler suggested, and they come up with some bullshit explanation on why they had to change her entire body, or
Kate realizes that she's not cut out to be Batwoman, so just like the Batman she keeps saying she's better than, she runs away and is never seen again. That would be the ultimate irony.
