Usually stages are measured in kits. Although there is three main kits for the srt4, AGP, MOPAR, ATP. All of them being similar. Basically stage 3 means big turbo, meth inject, Usually complete full bolt ons. Not basic shit like exhaust,intake,brake kit. External waste gate, new manifold, oil catch. Just a complete car. People usually stop after this because no one makes a reliable stage 4 kit. AGP has a stage 4 kit but unless you got a brand new motor with 100 miles on it. Youll blow it up in less than 5k miles if you're getting on it.
Stage is something that came from the factory. Dodge rolled out 3 stages you could order as options. The 3rd stage was the most desirable as it came with an upgraded td05 turbo, fuel injectors, and ecu, 3bar sensors, and some came with "turbo toys" to support high octane fuel and intercooler sprayer, among other things. Stage 3 was rated @ 310hp/325tq regular fuel and 355hp/365tq in high octane mode

Engines are in no way similar, the SRT-4 engine is an in-house A853. The only part on the car from Mitsubishi is the TD04LR-15Gk turbocharger.
