      had mine for a year as well; Love it. The only thing that annoyed me was having to spend more money on rims, tires, new chains and sprockets.

      @@seanmoore7207 I crammed a 110 tire on the stock rear rim (major pain until I used the zip tie method) and put a used crf250 front rim with a little bit of trimming the axle and then got rid of the o-ring chain (surprising power robber) and all is good. Had to drill the rear rim for a bead lock because the 110 was ripping the tube on the first acceleration.

    They're actually is a battery percentage number. But you better get a magnifying glass out to read it it's up in the upper right corner of the display. What's funny is I always strained to look at % but never noticed the battery at the top.

    • @BogdanNourescu
      @BogdanNourescu 6 месяцев назад

      If you take the battery out of the bike, there is a small battery % on the battery, but its made out of bars instead of numbers like on light bee

      @@seashackf1 yeah well when you're 70 years old and your clothes up vision is diminishing you may find it difficult to see those numbers as well. I still have really good distance vision so I don't need glasses to ride. But I have to put my readers on to see the numbers

  • @TheLilbrat22
    @TheLilbrat22 6 месяцев назад +4

    Heck yeah, this thing has been an absolute blast! I have 540 miles of super rocky single track on mine and haven't had any problems! I recommend the SXS skid plate. The only real downside over my kawi is the range but I just installed a torp controller and a 80V 76ah battery so I can't wait to test it out!

    • @daddy8875
      @daddy8875 5 месяцев назад

    • @TheLilbrat22
      @TheLilbrat22 5 месяцев назад

      @@daddy8875 Found out the Torp 1000 controller does not work well with 80V batteries 😂. But I got it to work by draining the battery under the 90V limit that the controller has. I ended my 33.46 mile ride at 29% on the UB’s display and 71% ~79V according to the Torp app. I don’t know which one is correct to be honest. But compared to the stock battery I made it to our turn around point at 79% compared to usually 50-55% on the stock battery. I was using a mixture of 14 KW and 10 KW in the Torp app. 32% after 33 miles was a little less than I was hoping as I got 30 miles at 7% remaining with the stock battery.

    • @TheLilbrat22
      @TheLilbrat22 5 месяцев назад

      Based on the math I did 79V on a 22 cell battery would be ~71% so I’m guessing the Torp app is correct which is sick if true.

    • @TheLilbrat22
      @TheLilbrat22 5 месяцев назад

      @BeGoodNow12 I only tested up to 14kw but it felt very similar to having it in sport mode with the stock controller and battery. I’ll try out 18kw+ next ride to see if top speed increases.

    • @TheLilbrat22
      @TheLilbrat22 5 месяцев назад

      @BeGoodNow12 Thankfully their beta firmware fully supports the battery. The beta software also gives you the full functionalitly of the stock display! So it's great now and 14kw with the new firmware is alot quicker than stock sport mode and 18kw makes it feel like a different bike. Definitly have a higher top speed now as I hit 60 mph at 18 kw with a 54t sprocket. And battery range is good. I got down to 29% after ~36 miles switching between 11, 14 and 18 kw. It was very fast single track so I imagine it will do better in terms of miles on slower and more technical single track.

Stumbled across your video and realized the places you are riding look very familiar only to notice you are wearing a WFO hoodie. I race D17 and Wfo as well. Great job on the video! Thanks for making it. By the end of the year I will likely have to make the decision between this and a Light Bee. Being only 5'8" I worry about the Ultra being a bit too tall for me. Also, I have zero experience with riding motorcycles, so I thought the Light Bee would be a good primer to get me ready for bigger bikes.

    I’m actually just curious, not trying to be negative… If it’s such a great bike then why have you only used it for 371 miles? I’m interested in getting the ultra bee i instead of the light bee but now I’m questioning if i should just go the light bee x route. I trust your input bc you are exactly the same height and weight as i am. So what do you suggest? I don’t plan on using it for supercross or anything too crazy… more for some basic north Florida moto tracks, but mostly trail riding. Is it more fun to upgrade the light bee, or better to just keep the ultra bee close to stock. Customization seems not just fun but it make me feel more connection to my bike. Anyways thanks!

    it seems nice and all but there is one big issue which I cannot overlook. as a hobbyist electrical engineer with TONS of experience with bldc motors and ev tech in general I cannot overlook the fact that its a single speed. motors, batteries, and esc's destroy themselves and make no power at low rpm's. for mx its mostly ok but for slow single track and hard enduro riding its near impossible with an e bike since thye make such bad low end power OR if they do happen to make goo dlow end power they are intnetionally destroying themselves to make that low end power. if the bike had a little 3 speed transmission I would totally get one but as it stands they physically cannot last long or perform merely as well as any gas bike since they are designed like garbage. they also are chinese and I wont want to support them. I almost got an e bike long long ago, over a decade ago now, and it was the original sur ron, but it wasnt called a sur ron, it was an american designed and chinese made e bike but the chinese stole the design and sent the american company under and now they are called sur ron. terrible company. overall its hard to tell but I cannot support such terrible company and get something which 100 percent of me tells me will underperform for my riding. even at its peak it only makes around 30-35 ish hp and its just not enough.

      @electricisbetter  5 месяцев назад

      Have you ever ridden one?

    • @garbageman3992
      @garbageman3992 5 месяцев назад

      @@electricisbetter yeah Iv ridden a few stock and a few modded ones. they really dont make much low end power at all even though they seem to. for example a gas bike will easily pull up the front tire at 1st gear (low road speed) and barely at like 4th gear (high road speed). this is because the power is constant throughout the gears, same hp to the ground in 1st and 4th gear. at higher speed the wheel has less torque but much higher rpm. the lack of torque results in hard to lift front end. an e bike will wheelie just as easily from 5 kmh as it will at 40 kmh. math shows that flat power (just like the gas bike) results in high torque at low rpm and low torque at high rpm. but ev bikes have flat torque so as rpm increases and torque remains constant the hp output ends up being far greater at high rpms. I rode my friends 18ish kw crazy telaria with a small rear sprocket for 100 mph top speed (it couldnt actually hit that due to wind resistance but it theoretically could with enough power) and it would literaly not have the power to pull the fornt wheel off the ground at anything below 20 kmh because bldc motors dont make flat power but as soon as it went above 40 it could do it easily, proving a very steep power curve. not only that but sur rons and telarias overdraw like hell at low rpms especialyl to try to artificially negate that terrible low end power and it still did that. so he had uneblievable terrible performance at low speeds, burnt out his esc, motor, and blew up 2 battery packs trying to offroad with us, but could do hgihway stuff no problem. this is all because the motors make no low end power and have insane heat production attempting to make good low end power. its hard to wrap your head around this stuff if you dont understand the differences between hp and torque and energy output but I can go far moreinto depth and explain the math and stuff too.

    • @garbageman3992
      @garbageman3992 5 месяцев назад

      @@electricisbetter oh I forgot this video was about the storm bee, I have not ridden a storm bee but the characteristics remain the same as a small sur ron so its the same problems as I mentioned in the other comment. poor low end power and in attempt to make low end power insane current draw is nescessary (due to close to zero back emf) and thus very little wattage input but most of it goes to heat due to the fact that its like 90 percent current/torque making the wattage.

    • @Thesocialgarage
      @Thesocialgarage День назад

      Couldn't be more wrong. All the torque is in the first 20% of throttle. These are geared very low. They WILL go 60+, but are at home in the 10-20 range
