The starter relay trigger wire should be an 18 AWG red/lt blue wire. It should be energized by the ignition switch and the neutral/clutch safety switch. Also, I believe that ground you were questioning is the main ground for the ECU. It is critical that it be connected to a reliable chassis ground.
Ah amazing, thank you! The red with light blue was the one I ended up on. This car was converted to manual from automatic so I think there's a jump that was put in somewhere on the automatic's starter cut out. I'll have to trace through it. Thanks for the info!!
