It seems every store I go to wants you to "round up" for something. I went into Goodwill the other day and they asked if I wanted to round up. I asked what I'd be rounding up for. They said for their mission. Aren't all your payments for their mission? I did not round up. Another one that gets me is when you go somewhere, order at the counter, wait for your food or drink and they have a tip option on your ticket or tip jar. No! I'm not going to tip you. I did not get any extra service. There are getting to be fewer and fewer places I shop. I guess that means I have more money in my pocket.

I used to spend over $150 a month on my hair pre-pandemic because I have short hair. Spent a lot of time watching my hairdresser cut and style my hair over the years. Well…..I started cutting my hair during the pandemic and buying my hair dye at the dollar tree (which is amazing!). I’ve been spending $1.50 a month for almost 4 years!!!! I thought "It's okay because I'm saving so much money." But then, I had a special occasion come up and decided to go get my hair dyed professionally. BAD mistake! Not only was my gray hair not covered, but it turned out a copper color while the rest of my hair was brown! It looked awful and cost over $150! I could have done this myself and saved $120. Not disagreeing, but just a note - EVERYTHING is more expensive, so the electricity and utilities the thrift shop has to pay is more expensive, the insurance for the building & property, workers comp insurance, fuel & insurance for whatever trucks or vehicles they use, sign permits, nearly everything, has gone up for them also. I'm not sure how they pay their staff, but they may be paying more in minimum wages, too. It all adds up, so they recoup the costs through their sales.

I will never shop on Amazon...it is corporate rip off and is destroying the shopping high street here in the UK. I can no longer afford to heat my home all the time (in winter). I cannot afford to buy new clothes. I cannot afford tools, meat, eating out in restaurants, I cannot afford to go to the cinema and haven't done for years. I dont have any subscriptions to anything. I could go on. I live an extremely frugal life not by choice but by necessity. Incidently...I never go to see bands or concerts cos I cannot afford and any way I am short (5' nothing) so I can never see anything anyway!

I love the white columns that lead to the living room! I know that you want to get rid of them, but they add so much character to your home! Just think about how much money you could save if you left them as is! I also love your wood paneled ceiling! It really "warms up the house".
I grew up in the 60's and 70's. Women learned how to file their own nails and they "set their hair" at home. The only women who went to the beauty parlor were little old ladies with purple hair. Then the 70's came and we discovered the blow dryer. That was a game changer. And then we learned how to use curling irons in the late 70's. I don't understand all of these young women getting all of these things done. A lot of what they do looks cheap and trashy. Sorry, if I offended any of you ladies, out there.

My daughter in law is 💯 % disabled and can’t even drive now. But they are taking $200 a month out of her disability and she still has out of pocket prescriptions too. Sad because my son is working 2-3 jobs

I made an $8 cup of coffee yesterday. Generous fresh beans, half and half, and to make the temp perfect I microwaved it for 30 seconds. My cost? .75 cents.

I went to Australia about 10 years ago almost fell over.... Cigarettes were $35.00 a pack, not a carton. 1965 three of my friends and I went to a concert. THE BEATLES !!! BOX SEATS DODGER STADIUM .. oh yeah the tickets were $6.00 each!!!!😮❤

I wonder if Australians can roll their own like I used to do. There’s 20 cigarettes in a pack so that makes each cigarette more than a dollar.

I love the idea of a no tip restaurant, where staff are paid fairly and diners get a decent service

We’ve had one for 12-14 yrs now. Great food and service. People can’t stop themselves from tipping, so the owners chose local charities about 10 yrs ago and every month it’s a new charity. Minimum wage is $15 months in my state, but businesses pay $18 to start.

Conventional oatmeal is drenched in glyphosate. Get organic. Better to spend the $ for organic now, rather than $$$$$ later for American medical care and Parkinson's meds.

The thrift stores are getting too expensive. They are ruining their own business. Tipping is just silly. We don't tip nurses or mechanics.

I tossed the whole tv around 15 years ago, cost of cable was my limit. No hairdresser since 2019. If price of something I want is ridiculous, I dont buy it. We have unlimited choices so there's always a different product to choose but in my reality, I have no issue with simply doing without. Tipping...I will reserve comment because my opinion on that would start a comment war lol I eat at home, I shop in person...I do shop Amazon for deals but never, never pay shipping.

Here in Canada, as of May 24 we are boycotting a major conglomerate of store brands because the prices are insane.

The prices of every thing in Canada is absurd. The worst part is you get half the value. I went to a grocery store and was charged to use a shopping cart, and had to pay for the plastic bags to hold my purchases. WTF.

When I'm being driven around in my Rolls Royce, I can no longer pass the Grey Poupon mustard. It's just too expensive. I have to use the cheap yellow mustard on my Foie gras sandwiches.
