Oh, your daughter has such a genuine smile when seeing all of her new books. good job, mama
Thank you! She was so excited! ❤️
My kiddo loves mazes too. We are adding this to our list ❤
It was a huge hit!
We love Foundations. We finished A and B last year and are starting into C and D this year for first ❤.
That is awesome! Have a great year! 😀
I love how excited she is about all of her new books. My kids get excited too:)
She is loving everything! ❤️
Thank you for all the recommendations! The add of the maze and word search books is great! I have two older boys so finding little things to keep my 1st graders attention is always great!
Yw! It definitely gives the little ones something to do while working with older children.
I love those maze and word search books! That’s a great idea to add in!
Thanks! They look so fun! She already completed the Bible maze book. 🤦🏽♀️
This is great. I think youre doing so great with your girls!
Thank you friend! ❤️
I have an incoming 1st grader too. I haven’t quite started picking things out for her just yet, but I think we need that Whistling Whales book!
❤️ It’s a fun and useful book to read even if you don’t buy the entire curriculum.
Looks like a fun line up!! I have to say, we tried the 180 days of social studies for 1st grade and we had to drop it. It was waaaaaay too watered down for me, to the point where it lacked any true meaning.
That’s unfortunate. Hopefully the other parts of it will work for us. We shall see 🤔 Thank you for hearing that!
Love the picks! I have an upcoming first grader, too.
Thanks! 😀
I love the idea of the Social Studies and Reading Comprehension 😊I have a coming first grader too . ❤
Thank you!
Love the picks! Also, I will have a 1st grader this year ❤
❤️❤️❤️
We’re using the 3rd Grade Reading Comprehension activity book. My daughter enjoys it. The stories are short and enjoyable.
Love to hear that! This may be something we can use all levels.
Great video
Thanks for watching! ❤️
Amazing work mom and your daughter is beautiful. I'm a dad trying to help my daughter to read in kindergarten and how did you help her with bledning three and four words we got two words covered for most part?
Thank you! That’s awesome! We go through the phonetics for each individual phonogram for that word. Very slowly the first few times and then speed up so she can hear how it should sound in full conversation. I would recommend grabbing a curriculum like Logic of English Foundations or the Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons book. Logic of English has really helped her understand why the words are said and spelled a certain way using phonics rules. She can recite those rules to me therefore she can recognize when they need to be used for each word.
My son and I loved Foundations. I highly recommend and I purchased the entire curriculum.
It’s has really been the highlight of our kindergarten year! ❤️
Where did you get that My First Grade Journal ? I love how you include your kiddos in your videos.
Thank you!
Here’s the link for the journal. 😄

Thank you for this video! It gave me some ideas for my future 1st grader. We homeschool through a charter in order to receive funding, so we will be tracking with Reading Eggs (1.5 lessons every 2 weeks is required), Mathseeds twice a week, and IXL for science and SS (2 skills per week)... it's like supplementing. Our main curriculum will be Logic of English, Saxon 1, Getty Dubay handwriting, Story of the World, and we'll either do Elemental Science or I'll find some fun science projects for us to do. We'll combine a lot with my preschooler
We use IXL for supplemental work too and I’ve been a fan!
I LOVE your plan! That’s awesome that you’re with a charter and still get the option to choose what you want. Hands on science is so fun and can be super simple. I always try to combine as much as possible with my girls. It’s easier on this momma and gets the girls working together. ❤️
@@LifeofTillmans thank you ☺️ I wish we could get religious curriculum because the secular science curriculums are so expensive! Especially for 5 kids. Do you get science kits to share for all of your girls? Or do you get them each their own?
@@peachy_reina MasterBooks Science is fairly low cost. We like it a lot. They have it for all ages and it can be done as a group. When we do kits I usually buy one and we work together. If the cost is within budget I buy two so I can work with my youngest and the older 2 work together. ❤️
@@LifeofTillmans thank you so much! I'll check it out
Hi there! I started following because of MFW curriculum (may use this coming year with my 6 and 4 yo). I have noticed you stopped using MFW. Do you have a video where you describe your reasons for moving on from it?
I'd love to listen to your thought process! Thank you so much for sharing your journey in an encouraging way for us newbies here!!! :) GOD BLESS
Thanks for being here!! I had only planned on using MFW exploring countries and cultures. I don’t have a video on why we stopped. We finished up most of it during the summer last school year. (Skipped 2 or 3 countries) We did enjoy it but it started to get repetitive and my older girls were a little bored. I will likely go back to it when my youngest daughter gets a little older but haven’t decided that just yet. ❤️
@@LifeofTillmans Pls what is MFW? thanks
@@mzimalife4762 My Father’s World is a curriculum we used for Geography last year. They also have history and other subjects. Check them out!

That’s my baby girl 🤣❤️
