Y’all are raising your kids right. When I was her age I definitely couldn’t articulate what I did and didn’t like about school or how I felt about except that I didn’t like my teacher.
My rising tenth grader is an aspiring architect and cosmetologist as well. We recently went to a Vocational High School open house to get inspired and it worked. We loved how they included science ( chemistry and biology) and math ( percentages) into the cosmetology lessons. It was also a Christian school and they shared how they teach to witness to others (loved that). I plan on purchasing the textbook for my daughter to work through it. Fifth grade looks awesome!!
Hey, love this! I’m a mama BTW…don’t know how to change this from my husband’s name, lol! Your hair looks great, and your kiddo is adorable! Love seeing the two of you together. Great picks for 5th grade! Thanks for sharing!
Loved hearing M talking about hair and the different types. Love Abeka Read & Comprehension Skill Sheets! I miss them since they aren't available in 7th grade. Layers of Learning looks great. Can't wait for the flip through!
Magadoches??? Are ya'll from Texas?? LOL I have headaches and I would LOVE a shampoo girl. No salon I go to has this service anymore. My 12 yr old, Sarah, is the same as Mags...a math lover, a lego builder, a building designer, etc. She wants to be an engineer or an architect also. Such a fun journey homeschooling is! I love all her well thought out answers!
😅 not from Texas, she’s super excited about the possibility of being a Shampoo girl. Love how the children are thinking things out for their lives. ❤️loving this journey
My daughter goes to public school and she is struggling. I feel like homeschooling because she’s in 5th grade but in 3rd grade level on some areas such as math. I’m in nursing school and don’t have much time to tutor her either 😔
I can imagine how hard this must be for you. There are so many families who make homeschooling work with lots of other obligations. I will pray that God gives you the direction you need for doing what’s best for your home! Best of wishes in nursing school! It’s a beast but so worth it! ❤️
I loved your videos in previous years about Masterbooks Writing Strands. Did you all put that aside? Just wondering as I’m considering that for my 6th grade son next year.
Thank you for being here! ❤️ We are still using MasterBooks Writing Strands. They are in Beginning 2. We did take a break for a little while but, it has progressed really well for us.
I was wondering what state you are in. I know curriculum changes state to state. Im interested in some of your curriculum for my 5th grader (2023-2024). We are in Oregon. We currently do an online charter but for the future I may look into an actual homeschool style.
We’re in Oklahoma. We don’t have specified curriculum for our state. It’s really just whatever you choose for your child’s learning. We also have very little Homeschool regulations from our state.
Currently she’s working on fractions. We have fraction bars, flip chats, and tons of other things. You can find the entire list needed per grade on Rainbow resources website.

Awww, I love how involved your kiddos are with sharing their thoughts on their curriculum picks! So sweet! You are an amazing mom!
😊 Thank you so much! It’s very important to us that they have a voice in our home. ❤️
