    The writing is secondary to political agenda being forced into everything. Everything has anti-straight anti-male anti-white messaging. As soon as you recognize it, you'll see the effects of DEI has on storytelling. "its about power and whose allowed to wield it".
    In Captain Marvel, carol assaults a motorcyclist and steals his vehicle for telling her to smile.
    In Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford gets upstaged by Phoebe at nearly every opportunity to show that she's better than him.
    In Starwars Episode VII, Harrison Ford gets upstaged by Rei when she "bypasses the compressor" showing that she knows more about his own ship that won an intervallic smuggling race in.
    In Starwars Episode VIII, after Poe defies orders to destroy the dreadnaught, effectively saving the rebel forces, Leia slaps and demotes him.
    In Peter Pan Wendy slaps Peter Pan (the embodiment of childhood) for being upbeat after surviving an encounter with hook.
    In She Hulk, She Hulk demeans Bruce Banner saying she's better than him because she deals with stressful situations "infinitely more than him" putting down all the suffering he has encountered in his life. The entire show is just man-hate.
    In Wanda Vision, Wanda enslaves an entire town and the (white male) cop is portrayed as the villain for trying to rescue the citizens because they have guns (against a super-powered villain). Also, the script tries to forgive her by having Monica Rambeau say "they'll never know what you sacrificed for them" (a black woman forgiving a white woman for enslaving an entire town).
    In Ant Man and the Wasp, Scott Lang's own daughter demeans him at his own dinner table for "not having done enough after saving the universe" negging him and effectively discounting the sacrifices he and his friends made to protect everyone.
    In Wish, the king is possessed by an evil book, and the queen doesn't even try to save her husband. The traitor is (of course) the white man.

    Call me crazy, but I really believe that the audience score on rotten tomatoes is going to drop down into the single digits for “The Acolyte”. It’s that bad. And for them to say that the audience is just being racist and sexist for not liking the show is just absurd. This is just a shaming tactic that they are using hoping that people will get in line with their type of Star Wars shows that they are creating. These shows are bad and the general audience is letting you know that. There’s nothing racist or sexist about letting you know that your show sucks. Instead of doing better, they just want to double down on blaming the audience instead of blaming themselves for creating such a poor quality show. It’s so bad that I am actually longing for the days of “The Book of Boba Fett”. When it comes to Star Wars shows it seems that they are actually getting worse. The problem that exist in my humble opinion is that you have a leadership in Disney and in Hollywood in general that wants to push certain agendas and these agendas are more important than actually making money. I feel that the only way things can get better is if you get rid of all of upper management in these corporations like Disney and start over fresh with people that actually want to make great movies and shows that the majority of the General Public can enjoy. But what do I know? I talk in third person.

    • @holdmydualshock
      @holdmydualshock  Месяц назад +2

      Perfectly put Brogu!! It has NOTHING to do with racism or misogyny and everything to do with the fact that it is not a GOOD show. plain and simple. If they had actual fans writing and directing I think they would have an amazing show on their hands... unfortunately they have a writer whose never seen Star Wars and Leslye Headland who wants to use the platform to work through her personal life and Kathleen Kennedy who has a personal vendetta against George Lucas. That all adds up to the WORST Star Wars show ever.
      I totally agree that it will get down to the single digits for the audience score because there will probably be something even worse in later episodes.

    This all started with episode 3 of the show. The canon breaking combined with that very lazy, awful chant put Star Wars into a low low place for a lot of fans. We felt insulted by the new force created character and the chant scene was just something so awful, it offended many fans. And finally, it’s a very heavy handed DEI push as the icing on this shit cake. That combo has angered a lot of fans deeply.

    Is "The Acolyte " actually worse than the "Star Wars Holiday Special"? Yes, it is.
    Why?
    People often forget the Star Wars Holiday Special was the first appearance of Boba Fett. Secondly, Star Wars was a new project, so it doesn't break lore!
    When you see The Star Wars Holiday Special, it still feels like Star Wars in an odd way. The Acolyte has none of these factors.
    It is quite frankly the worst Star Wars project of all time. The only way to enjoy it is to hate watch it like a Rocky Horror Picture Show midnight showing.

    Take away the controversy of agendas, racism, whatever...it's simply bad. So bad I feel bad for Master Sol's actor as he is a good endearing actor.
    Forbes guy feels like his article was written for clicks and controversy, not truth. All of his points feel more biased fueled then the people he claims are biased.

    Audience score is the clearest depiction of the truth. The truth is Acolyte falls short on action, scenery, and writing. The best sci-fi writing of fake world comes off as real, that’s why Dune, Star Trek, Lost in Space, West World and a course Star Wars. Andor and Mandalorian allowed audiences to escape with characters that pop in a narrative keeping to the lore, but exploring new viewpoint filled with unexplained environments. One is a warriors journey and the other is how rebels and spy agencies empire battled in the dark. Both have realities anyone can escape with. The Acolyte fails as escape because it looks and sounds cheap with a ridiculous budget. Sadly scene transitions and Jedi babysitter in space solving poorly written mystery murder is not a good storyline. If all it took was actors dressed as Jedi and some sci-fi elements, then anyone could make Star Wars, but that is not the case. It’s the reason why fans are so passionate. Passion is not an embarrassment.

    People call a bad show a bad show and the creators call those people bigots. Meanwhile, a very similar show by the same studio with a minority lead is hailed as one of the studio’s best projects ever, and those fans are perfectly fine. Why are fans only bigots when the show is terrible? Also, when you call your remaining fans awful names and accuse them of evil morality, do you expect them to take it easy on you next time? Review bombing isn’t legitimate. I’d love to see the stats on the audience scores. What’s the standard deviation? Anything more than 20% would be insanely unlikely for over 10,000 reviews, so even if we assumed the highest possible standard deviation, even two standard deviations (ie the highest 5% or so of scores) would still only average around 46%. That’s still an awful show. Review bombing has nothing to do with the ratings. The ratings are shit because the show is shit.

    • @holdmydualshock
      @holdmydualshock  Месяц назад

      Because it has nothing to do with actual bigotry or racism and everything to do with the fact that "we" had the audacity to say the show isn't good. Even though they worked really hard, and put themselves into the show, and are showing authentic lesbian relationships by a lead actor whose not white. For those reasons you're supposed to look past the immersion breaking dialogue, the poor production value, and the misplaced cuts.
