    nice review, I have shortlisted the zappi tethered due to the thought of wiping clean and wrapping an untethered cable into the car boot daily in the rain and was hoping to see more cons such as build quality, weathering, rainwater penetration, sun fade, etc.. perhaps on a future video ?

    Good review! I have the tethered Zappi as when the weather is bad, I don’t want to be messing about with coiling up a cable and putting it away into a bag.

    Thanks for the video. I have had solar PV installed for a while, looking to get an EV soon so wondering if Zappi is the only option sync with solar? I don't have smart meter installed, can the Eco+ mode of Zappi works with my conventional electricity meter?

      Thanks for watching. The Zappi is currently the most popular choice for solar but, there are other charger that also support solar charging. How well they compare, I don’t have the answer to so it’s best to do some googling.
      I don’t think you need a smart meter for eco+ mode but, it’s best to double check with Myenergi.
      I would recommend installing a smart meter so you can take advantage of cheaper energy tariffs for EV charging at home, it helps you save a lot!

    Having issues with connecting to my WiFi hub, because it's too far,I can't register within the app, it's not showing reg number because it's not connected to WiFi,so the my energi app is not functional.i called the helpline it was a 25 minutes of trying to connect but nothing, wasn't straight forward that's for sure,my 76 yr old step dad would never have gotten around it, tricky

    Good to know, thanks. Did your con software issues get resolved since?

      The app response speed has improved since they upgraded their servers a few months ago, which has been working great. I found a solution for my Eco+ issue which has solved my problem.

      @@evsexplained Thanks. I am waiting for a Model 3 and would like to go Zappi. The (minor) downside is that I will have to disconnect charging via the Tesla app (or inside the car) before I physically disconnect - as opposed to the Tesla charger, where you just press a button on the connector. Have Zappi ever looked at that?

      Not that I'm aware of. In my experience, using the Tesla app to unlock charge port hasn't been too tedious. For me, I think it's worth it based on what the Zappi has to offer but, it all comes down to what you are looking for in a EV charger. Hope this helps. Ali

      @@evsexplained Thanks for the prompt response. Zappi can use sunlight but the Tesla charger cannot. It comes down to that really...

    Isn't the cable 6.5 meters in length, contrary to the 5 meters you mentioned?

      Thanks for pointing this out. Yes, the current Zappi V2 tethered is 6.5 meters in cable length.

    Did the Hub come included with the Zappy EV charger?

    • @evsexplained
      @evsexplained  2 года назад +1

      The hub was purchased separately and was bundled together with my installation from my installer. I needed the Hub to qualify for the OLEV grant in the UK. Hope this helps.

    Did you buy this product and then find someone to install it or did you install it yourself?

    • @evsexplained
      @evsexplained  2 года назад +1

      I found a local certified installer first. I bought the Zappi from him, which he then installed.
