So happy to now have seen the gate I have been told about for so many years. The magic gate with open frame to get the spacers back after dropping them. On the newer locks both case and screws are designed to screw in tight without the spacer. That has been a saver. When picking double euro always remember to push the pick in deep to connect the right plug to the cam. And you can’t tell if the cam points left or right, as it just depends on the way you hold it.
Thank you for this video. I want to change to a new key for a Locinox lock. I figured there might be a way to change the cylinder rather than replacing the whole latch. Your video showed me how! It will be easier for me as I have the key to the current lock. 👍
Hi Jason. Thanks for taking the time to do this video. Educational as always. So you do get to do Euro cylinders. Them cams can be awkward, at least it wasn't aMTL cog wheel one. Not come across this type of lock yet , but you never know. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge. Oh I have the metric sets of the folding sets. I haven't yet done the Chicago screw mod, what size do you use ? There is a shortage of old style ironmongery stores here only big brand ones unfortunately. So I will probably need to go online to even get them.
Hi Jason I have this exact lock but the lock is engaged with the wall and the key turns but won't unlock the bolt. I can't get to the Allen key because the gate is closed. I've tried WD-40 in the lock and where I can with the lock bolt itself and lifting the gate while turning the key but it won't shift. Any ideas?
Thanks, man! I have to order a cylinder and work on one of these as soon as possible. Great info! Where do you get your profile cylinders from? This one says "BERN" on it.
@@selock The customer said they had a master and another key they called the child-lock, so it was those two keys I had to master. Lucky for me I could use a security hex wrench (small) to remove the top and re-key to both keys.
Field video and picking a lock??! wow Jason, it's about time
These are the videos I enjoy. What am I saying, I enjoy all your videos.

I realized what I was doing during edit with the cam direction and smacked myself in the forehead 🙄
Need a small strong magnet on a string.
@@ImGumbyDangit it would stick to the gate :)
@@selock yes, why did I not get that

Well, dang. He does still do real locksmith work... Video evidence... Nice picking!!!
Great demo!
have a great day
Amazing. Thanks for the video!😀
NICELY done Jason
😎
Great job as per usual!
Please say hi to Kim for me!
I have a great deal of respect for you, Jason!
Nice job Jason 😊👏
If Houdini came in a bucket, I would have just dipped that whole thing like a carburetor. :)
I like how they shield the cylinder to keep from hammer attack.
Thanks Jason!
Thanks for the field vid!
Great video. You need to open a locksmith video school

Awesome video
I love these out in the field videos
Most UK locks are those now.
Keep safe and see you on Saturday
Hard to work with one hand, you need a hat GoPro mount. Nice chunky old lock, fixed and ready for action. 👍🤓🇦🇺
hi do all Locinox cylinders fit the locks? as i need to replace mine as ive lost the key
they are different lengths so measure yours!
Looks like that gate is ready for another 20 years of loyal service.
A little anti-seize when installing the mounting bolts will make them come right out next time. I put just a touch on mortise cylinders to.

Locinox directly, they are pretty cheap but be prepared for that “metric” measurement.
Also their shipping cost is ridiculous :(
I had to master key one of those double cylinder profile cylinders yesterday in the shop. $45 for the cylinder and $20 per cylinder for the keying.
standard profile? Yeah they are pricey but these sealed units from locinox are nowhere near that so its much better to replace :)

Good stuff! 👍
Hi, new to your channel, I don't know much about locksmithing. How do you get the new set of keys to the customer if they're not home? Mail them?
I see your still using my bag LOL 😂
One of your rolls is in that Klein bag so yep :) like double so
AFRO VAN 4 LIFE!
I believe to be a good locksmith you have to be more stubborn than the locks.
a touch of never seize on them treads they would come out a lot easier next time. touch is all you need, stuff spreads like a bad rumor.
