07:55 this glass can be turned "blurry" with the push of a button, then it looks like ground glass. So in case the driver values his privacy you might not be able to see through. Also if the "emergency" brakes are applied, the glass will turn blurry in order to prevent the passengers from seeing accidents etc.
Algorithm comment: My most memorable ICE trip was Brussels-Köln-Frankfurt then Frankfurt-Nürnberg-München in January of 2012. Left Brussels Nord early, through the gorgeous Liege station and into Köln. My ICE paced a morning commuter out of Köln, always a treat to see. Had 20 minutes to change in Frankfurt, which didn’t seem enough but was in fact plenty. Went through the Spessart hills east of Aschaffenburg and came out to an almost-flooded Main river north of Würzbürg. Meandered down the valley to Kitzigen then started the high speed sprint to Nürnberg and München. Quite the trip through the January snow.
1. The Reservation Fares are: - 1 Seat = 4,90€ - 2-5 Seats 9,80€ 2. In Advance, 2. Klasse (second class) seats can be booked for 17,90€ and on special occasions for only 12,90€
From WC, I’d love to take a ICE train, especially a tilting train, but I haven’t been in Germany since 1964, USAF, and unfortunately probably won’t ever be able to go back, unless something like a miracle happens! I’d love to see the ICE 3 TD trains here since we have so little electricity powered trains! Some of the passenger trains I’ve seen videos of in South FLA look pretty good, but I still think the ICE trains are better looking! I’m glad to see these new trains here anyway! Good video!
I Went to a journey to Germany in 2018 trains route was From Frankfurt to Duisburg. The model of the train was ICE 3 and it was pretty well. I heard that there is a new payment system that you pay 4 Euro for normal ticket, it does not matter which vehicle you take. In 2018 i paid 10 Euro for business class. (i dont remember the price well, i was 9.)
That seemed like a nice route!! I was really surprised the driver cabin's glass was transparent but as sb commented below, the driver can activate a "blurry mod" lol
Traveled from Frankfurt to Ingolstadt and also Ingolstadt to Frankfurt in June/July 2019. It was memorable. Beautiful countryside all along, after leaving the cities.
The only ICE route I've ever taken is the one between Brussels - Köln - Frankfurt. I absolutely loved the view when the train tracks ran along the river Rhine.
I worked on these train as a Dutch technician for the Siemens company at the Siemens test facility Wildenrath in 1998. We did have a test train wich did a few thousand kilometers. It had no passenger seats ( a few for the test team ) with only the technical equipment on board at it's final destination. It was called " Train zero "; Zug Null. After the tests, this train got scrapped 😄. When the first ICE3 arrived at Wildenrath, i switched teams and did commissioning at the first N.S. and D.B. high speed trains.
Where do you get these prices from? All DB long distance train prices usually start at 17.90€ for Adults older than 26, and 12,90€ for everyone under that. At least that is what they advertise, and these are the prices I usually encounter if I'm booking in advance.
If you are wondering where your ICE DB BR411/415 Started it's Dresden Hbf then Riesa Leipzig Hbf or straight from Rbf Leipzig Engelsdorf. Final Destination is Wiesbaden via Bebra Gerstungen and Frankfurt Flughafen. PIS at Leipzig Hbf displays it as ICE Erfurt Hanau Frankfurt Flughafen Wiesbaden. Locals between Leipzig and Dresden would have used the EUR 9 ticket on RE50 Saxonia Express using MDV VVO Fares.
Took a trip from Vilseck to Neumünster last month which included being aboard an ICE from Nuremberg to Hamburg, first class all the way. First train was 45 minutes late and I missed connection in Nuremberg, the staff there were very friendly and efficient, had me on my way with new seat on the next train bound for Hamburg.
When i was in Germany last year in Berlin with my dad I was going to take the ICE 4 to München and the train was going to stop at Leipzig hbf and I saw the locomotive and when I was about to record it a Regio train the view. Was a sad about that but hopefully I will be able to see it again when I go to Germany, specifically Leipzig
Happily they did not make the space between the seats smaller in the redesign. Which means by now the ICE T is the ICE with the biggest leg room i guess (97 cm in second, 101 cm is first class)
Well ... no shopping center, that was added in 1997 I believe, no underground S-Bahn station of course, but 26 tracks instead of less than 20 actually remaining today. Next to the "museum" track is a permanent exhibition with some information on the history of the station through the ages. Check it out next time you're here. 😊
I travelled through prior to reunification. I recall the restaurant looked like it was the set of a WWII film. All dark oak and furtive glances. And not a lot for a vegetarian!

Great trip. ICE 3 still my favourite in ICE train's family. Sadly on this trip you got small amenities, and no food service at on board restaurant. Can't wait for your next trip in Southeast Asia.

I have never travelled on one of these services but it looks really great to me - especially your special First Class seat! These tilting trains give you the ICE experience without having to be on a high speed route. Thanks for the great review. PS. Have you replaced Patreon with RUclips channel membership now?
ICE was the first European high-speed train that I have taken (Lüneburg to München) and I was quite disappointed with the almost 7-hour ride. Legroom is less than decent (I'm 180 cm or 5'11), the air-conditioning was poor during a hot summer, and the train stopped twice due to some technical issues further delaying my quite long journey. I had better experiences with TGV, Railjet, and some regular IC's. However, it might be a one-off event and I would like to give it another chance next time I visit Germany. It's quite a pity considering that it looks so cool from the outside
Appreciate the compliment but as he said, those "only" do 230kph. The really fast ones don't tilt. They are designed for true high speed lines that don't require tilting. The slower ones are mostly used on existing/upgraded lines which still have their original tight curves.
Actually it does, there are quite a few sections where GNT is in operation (all routes are approximate, it's a little shorter or longer but these are the main points): Eisenach - Gerstungen, Bebra - Fulda, Flieden - Gelnhausen, Hanau - Frankfurt.
