- Title: Is Minecraft Too Much
Hello my lads and lassies and welcome to a video on minecraft as I'm one step closer to getting cancelled. But this video questions the idea on is minecraft too much and it's a question I've been having for a while since caves and cliffs. I hope yous enjoy and if ur reading this like subscribe and comment because why not
first time I've seen a gaming RUclipsr with a Dublin accent
and probably the last aswell
@milanwatts RIP Ireland
you can just not interact with the mechanics you don't like, or better yet, just play older versions. nothing is forcing you to play the latest Minecraft version.
Minecraft only feels like "too much" because you're likely taking the game too quickly, this games fun doesn't come from speedrunning for most people, you're meant to take it at the pace you find fun. Don't want netherite? don't get it. Don't want to barter? Don't do it. Simple as that, just enjoy the game at your own pace.
i feel like a broken clock now, what about bedrock and versions not on java. the game is too much becauseits basically overstimulation compared to older minecraft.
you have either a. looked at the title and commented ignoring the video
or b. didnt listen to the conclusion
@@milanwatts again, you can just, not interact with the stuff you don’t want to. Or you can downgrade bedrock edition, there are plenty of tutorials showing you how to do that. There’s really nothing making you interact with the stuff you don’t want to.
but ur forgetting the core thing. i have no problem with anything in minecraft, the only problem is that its poorly implemented and rushed. and again the video isnt a dig at new minecraft calling it bad, its to make u think about minecraft evolution and what has been done wrone
I remember playing the old minecraft. It was good. It was notalgic. But I also remember getting bored of it very quickly. The Minecraft now have so much more blocks, items and redstone features that the number of sidequests you can go on keeps going up. The old Minecraft didn't have that.
The old minecraft had one ending, the End. But the new Minecraft is now truly open ended. Most of the Minecraft content you see on RUclips isn't how most people play the game. For me, I still like to go through the traditional progression because I want to collect all of the items along the way. After I beat the ender dragon, that's when the real play starts. That's when I can navigate around much faster using the elytra and build much larger structures and bases without spending forever.
I like the old Minecraft, but I'd say that now more than ever, it has truly become what Minecraft was always supposed to be. A sandbox that actually reflects real life. No specific directions imposed upon you. No longer just a storyline from punching wood to defeating a dragon.
but aswell the newer stuff implemented into the game isnt implemented well or fully like looking at ocean monuments what does it actually add to minecraft beside sponges, yes old minecraft could get boring but it was only as boring as ur mind made it, and now with the end stuff that was seen as a final challenge till u can truly do everything but now its a obstacle in the way to getting a elytra like its not hard anymore and yes its always been a sandbox but it was a sandbox with a story till Microsoft bought it and now there's random things to fill up space
@@milanwattsOcean monument also provides you with various building blocks and exp sources if you build a guardian farm. You're only looking for stuff to progress not everything has to be like that , like the auto crafter doesn't help you progress at all but it's still one the most useful items in the game.
@@milanwattsMost of the new mobs are just clutter though I agree with you there.
yes but autocrafter is useful for redstone, ocean monument is a big ass building ur comparing a mountain with a molehill
@@milanwattsIt still provides you with a ton of new blocks that you can't get anywhere else in the game + infinite food + good exp source . Compared to the woodland mansion which provides ZERO New blocks, and no farming potential.
"i choose to play like a speed runner, the game is boring and its all Jebs fault"
Interesting opinion.
i dont play like a speedrunner and i feel you arent looking at the video properly or u skipped the conclusion because i never stated the game is boring nor that i speedrun the game
I thought you has more than 100k subscribers until i checked it and i am really impressed that you dont have 100k yet the video is just too good
thank you, maybe one day but i dont think youtube is ready for it
nice video i agree. kids who started playing the game now wouldn't understand, but i don't blame them. but there is one update i will never underpraise - the water update when we could finally swim lol
yeah the aquatic update was good but i think the downside is that the ocean monument wasn't really put in well kinda just there to be there
10:02-10:53
That is why I always use the old textures even on new Minecraft that I don’t play that much because I play legacy on ps 4
yeah id much prefer using texture packs
good video. in the minecraft launcher you can just play old minecraft. i agree with ye on all the points tho. i play minecraft alpha and all the older versions because i feel like there was a certain feeling about the game that you dont really get when playing it now.
yeah and worst thing of all there isnt that option for bedrock or any other platform to play old minecraft, millions forced to deal with new updates rather they like it or not. whats mental is that hundreds of thousands play just alpha to this day and its nice to see. im glad u liked the video
Good vid. I kinda disagree with the "bloated" points.
I find a similar complaint being made sometimes in the lego community, saying that all the specialized pieces disincentivizes creativity.
The thing is, having more colors doesn't make you less creative.
I think the bloated feeling is also a symptom of the progression. Because you skip straight to netherite and elytras, finding all the other mechanics seems useless, therefore bloated.
But if we slow down the progression, and make you interact with all the early-mid game stuff before that, then you encounter it more naturally and they'll have uses for you.
Slowing down the progression also puts you in the mindset of "what do I want to do" as opposed to "what do I have to do".
I like all the new features, but I think they're all kind of undermined by a select few.
I also had an issue when you complained about the end no longer being an end and just being an obstacle.
The end was always meant to be a side quest. The point of the game was never the quest to kill the dragon. It was to make your world and live in it.
Minecraft, in every sense of the word, was meant to be infinite. A proper end would never fit into that.
yeah but i only have a problem with the blocks because 1. there the same as another block, 2. theyre poorly implemented and 3. just thrown in without a reason for being there
If you have nostalgia, just play the old versions
but what if ur on bedrock or other versions, the only way to play old versions is through java. And it isnt nostalga its that minecraft now has just become complete overstimulation compared to older versions
@@milanwatts ok then INSTALL older versions, because you still can with come tricks that are no brainers
i feel like u might need to look at the title and then take a second look at the video because u dont even understand the point of the video or ur just a pure minecraft glazer
@@milanwatts haha a glazer. anyways, you kinda are deefending your pointless video sooo... mojang shouldn't stop updating should they huh?
yes u are bein a glazer, ur channel is based around minecraft obviously youd be biased. and have u ever heard of quality over quantity. ill dumb it down for u, minecraft are chucking anything at the wall and nothing is sticking well because it has taken over 3 years and caves and cliffs is still not in fully. if theyre gonna update do it well and make sure everything is in.
someone clearly didnt watch the conclusion to the vid did they
good video👍
video👍good
The thick Irish accent scared me for a second, and I am Irish
i didnt think my accent was that thick
@@milanwatts its really not lol
yeah ik its not thick but i always thought it wasnt that noticable
Great video, but i can notice one thing - you basically complain about Minecraft being a sandbox - sure, you can speedrun through the game but you can also pace yourself. You can use the new structures... or you can just ignore them, you dont need to use the new textures as there is an option to use the older one right from the get go. Also, what's wrong with having new content after beating the ender dragon? Minecraft doesn't end after you beat the dragon. speaking of the dragon - who is stopping you from beating it without using beds? Overall, i agree with some points, and i really enjoyed watching this video, keep up the good work!
well, I will try to give u an idea on what im saying by using another game teraria, now u have to go through each step to beat Teraria, build houses, get lead ore then platinum then hardmode ores ect and they have structures in the game similar to minecraft like the dungeon but the only difference is that every structure in teraria has a purpose and its there to progress the story but also gives the player the ability to do whatever and compare that to Minecraft to where what does the woodland mansion even do besides clog up space. then there's the bed argument, now u can beat the game without beds but, sadly the most efficient way to kill the final boss is 3 wool and 3 wood, It is easy to get other good items just go to a village and make a toolsmith level 4 and boom enchanted diamond tools. I'm glad u enjoyed the video tho
@@milanwatts structures do have uses. the dragon argument is acceptable, but couldn't you do that also in earlier versions of minecraft, like the mentioned 1.8.9? the issue is that not the game is "boring" but the community discovered ways to do more things efficiently, like in every other game. speaking of the villager, you still need to level that villager to level 4, which takes a lot of resources you need to gather.
well, how much use does a woodland mansion have besides being something in the dark oak for example yes these structures at base level have a use but i believe they either dont do there job well or theyre job isnt really a job. then with the dragon argument u couldnt because the dragon would only come down to hurt u in old versions but now it sits in the middle for a bit and thats where the beds come in, and my video isnt that its boring its that its too much, overstimulation if u will, stuff thats only purpose is to fill out empty spaces with poorly made structures and making a skill gap because people mojang looks for quantity over quality. and the viliger problem is big, all u need is a fletcher villager who sells sticks, 32 sticks per emerald, then ur toolsmith use the emeralds to buy stuff of the villager witch is easier to level if using emerald trades and the 32 sticks per emerald is the equivalent of 1 log per emerald so if i break a small tree down its the same as getting 5 emeralds. yes thats a problem instantly
@@milanwatts okay, i understand now what you meant - i agree 100%.
You can always use beds to defeat the ender dragon. Beds always were explosive in the end
yes but now the ender dragon litteraly comes down to u and doesnt do anything so u can use beds, compared to any damage it took the ender dragon used to fly up
@@milanwatts nobody is forcing you to use beds in the end fight. if you are against it and think it will make the fight to easy then dont use it :))
im surprised this video only has 2.2k view its a good video and you did a good job on it keep it up
Thank you I appreciate it
W vid W game W Milan
only Ws on the milan watts channel
Play Orespawn mod and then look back at vanilla
well in fairness i am a bedrock player but ill look it up
Awesome video i also started playing minecraft in 2014 on the psvita legcy edition and the ps3 legcy edition on the minecraft psvita legcy version you can transfer save world progress on the ps3 legcy edition. I have just subscribe to your channel ❤
Nostalgia glasses really did hit you hard
its not nostalga glasses its a analysis on how rapidly minecraft change but the changed since microsoft bought it have been poorly implemented
I love the new blocks and textures
well its all preference, the video isnt meant to tell u what to think only make u question and if i done that then im happy
Great video
i appreciate it boss man
I remember when Minecraft’s Infdev came out, I was about 13 at the time. gave it a try on the school computer and loved it. Rest is history
and now half the people who like minecraft are fighting over old and new minecraft
I think that it keeps the game fresh keeps people coming in and playing if it hadn't been for these updates I doubt Minecraft would have ever left it's dark age and would not be as popular of a game now today as it was then because there's just not that much replayability you build a house you kill a dragon that's the game
true but i feel like they should implement the updates properly unlike caves and cliffs pt3
Dude... this video is amazing. Great work, please keep at it
thank you, when i get a new phone since mine broke ill get back to making content
Old minecraft is simple new minecraft is better but more complex this is the truth and we can do nothing about it
its more complex but poorly executed imo
You can go to old version by down grading you version in mc luncher it is that simple
what about non java players
Dude, I don’t even play through Minecraft most times when I make my worlds. I’m just a hardcore cartographer and I use the barest essentials of the game progression to acquire the means to pursue cartography. In fact the maps look even better in Bedrock Edition. No one is forcing you to interact with every new updated mechanic and feature, there’s a reason the Minecraft world is infinitely large.
@@milanwatts I like the new minecraft
Great video, got my sub (y)
welcome aboard and hopefully u stay
Does anybody else have a digital version of Minecraft Legacy Edition hor Xbox One? cuz that's MY NOSTALGIA
u can get it but it would prob cost a pretty penny
@@milanwatts why do you think I don't have it? in about 1 month l'll be able to re live my days
so u have it in a month but u dont have it now hmmmmmm. but nah to relive the old mini games would be great
@@milanwatts i literary have the copy of the game in the house i live in
ngl i thought u said the original comment like u wanted to get it
Minecraft now may be too easy to complete but it wasnt ever a completion game it was more a creative game and survival game the end wasnt even planned when the game was made
true but now there is a story to the sandbox that is now just a boring obstacle to getting elytras
@@milanwattsIf you think getting an elytra is the point of Minecraft I must fervently disagree.
the elytras arent the point of minecraft @dominicchallis2928 but in alot of peoples eyes, the ender dragon is just a thing in the way from the elytra. the elytra should feel like a reward for beating the dragon
@@milanwatts I can’t think of a worse reward than being pummelled by Shulkers for what feels like an eternity just to get a more expensive version of ender pearls or any number of other transportation method.
yes but thats what i mean by poorly implemented, u get me
Playstation tree
bo'le of wa'er
@@milanwatts I'll let you off
no we cant pronounce ts or hs if there beside ts
@@milanwatts yeah I know, one of my best friends from secondary school days is Irish, same last name as me too but unrelated
ahh fair enough, i hope u enjoyed the video
Great Video
Bro stop yapping. If you don’t like the new versions just play the older versions of Minecraft.
u have a narwal ar ur pfp pipe down
1.9 was when minecraft went downhill, because it just became another corporate cash grab for microsoft. A lot of the changes were good, but a lot were bad and there's issues that were never addressed. I don't really think 1.8.9 is better than 1.21, but I think mods can help a lot. For example, I usually play with a mod that goes back to the old combat system.
yeah i think the combat update wasnt the best tbh especially when it made axes op
Pros: revamping of three different dimensions’ above-ground terrain, a new cave system, entire new structures and village mechanics.
Cons: I’m not as good at sword combat as I used to, and I think that because this was made by a corporation in the Western world I can after 30 minutes of thought on capitalism come to some interesting conclusions.
@@dominicchallis2928 I was never good at sword combat lmao. They didn't even make it harder, just more annoying. Instead of making your attack useless if you accidentally click a milisecond before the timer is up, they should've just made it wait to swing. I made a mod to do that, but haven't released it yet.
@@dominicchallis2928 Some more pros and cons
Pros: shields, shulker boxes, the end part of 1.9, oceans don't suck anymore, you can swim, more blocks to build with, more biomes, auto crafting, mansions are cool (I wish they were more common, but explorer maps make this less of a problem), bug fixes, netherite, the deep dark adds an actual horror element that isn't just little kids freaking out about made up bullshit (I was one of them lol), I think most of the world gen changes are good, archeology, the new textures are honestly fine IMO
Cons: useless mobs that only exist because Microsoft wanted to use them to promote the game to little kids, multiplayer is literally just a race race to fully enchanted (with mending) netherite armor/tools + elytra and totems, phantoms are annoying as fuck, performance is way worse, world gen is too flat and over realistic, a lot of issues with the base game have never been addressed
The best part of playing with mods is that you can have all the pros with none of the cons if you can find mods to do it. Then you don't have to gripe at Mojang either
