This track, especially the beginning of it, really captures the desperation of Shepard and the Alliance to figure out what the Hell is going on. The tension created here is fantastic.
this one is reminiscent of mass effect 1's soundtrack. ME1's soundtrack was the most "scifi" and techno sounding out of the 3 games. i always preferred it.
Game won multiple awards, Sam and Jack won multiple titles = underrated. (?) wtf. Specially Mars, classified by many as 80s renascent among academics, go look at Wikipedia. You comment grievers can't even be creative anymore. Always some dude calling things underrated without basic research.
This is why Andromeda failed. Its soundtracks NEVER give the chills like the Trilogy do! Mars, Rannoch, Creation, and Suicide Mission. These four soundtracks represent the style of true Mass Effect music. They're not just epic and classic but also unique and inspiring.
I dig this part the most too. Really feels like a Hans Zimmer composed piece of work. The overlay of synth strings over the main baseline drives the sensation of tension and desperation that the Alliance experiences throughout the course of ME3's plot. But ME3's plot went to hell after Rannoch IMO. I digress though and am not interested in a fight on RUclips.
I usually despise opening missions in RPG's (VANCOUVER WAS TUTORIAL LEVEL) since I reroll hundreds of times, but this one never got old or stale. That's some amazing level design right there.
Exactly!! Don't know how many times I've rerolled ME3 because i didn't like the look of my character. Usually the need to reroll kicked in at the start of Mars-level. The music never got boring though...
2:57 is such an adrenaline rush."Holy shit it's Shepard!" Former Alliance Officer, reinstated. Back with Special Forces. Back where he belongs. Back home with his brothers and sisters. No more going rogue with Cerberus, running black ops. Shepard is back, and that blur of cloaked movement darting between pillars, sniping Cerberus shock troops and stabbing them with an omniblade...that legend is still alive and fighting before their very eyes.
The way the slow synth swells at 3:05 is wonderful. The best part is how the enemies and layout in this chapter are meant to slow you down. The frantic beat combined with the synth adds a lot to the tension, especially since the section proceeding it blares with the Reaper-like horns.
I found this song on the Minecraft ME3 theme of all places. That's where I first heard it. Lol. It plays alot on there. Makes Minecraft feel epic! Who would've thought it possible!?
Sam Hulick is a legend and deserves as much, if not more, credit for the sound of Mass Effect as Jack Wall does. ME1 main theme, Uncharted Worlds, this tune and many more written by Sam Hulick. Pure class.
Honestly, all of the Mass Effect games have the best soundtracks ever!!! Ear candy in particular for synth lovers, but the orchestral stuff and how they blend it with synth and other types of instruments is just amazing as well.
I used to hate the ending but you know what, I do agree with you now that I recently beat the trilogy again. The ending makes sense with the extended cut dlc and the leviathan dlc. If you pay enough attention then all of it makes sense and the ending is now actually pretty good. The original ending was lacking in many ways but the current state of it is good.
This track captures something primal within I cannot pinpoint.. In a good way. Get goosebumps and tears both for some reason every time I hear it. Except the faster parts hehe 🙂
I've never actually really listened so much to the background music since I was too busy shooting everyone. xD I really love the soundtracks though. I finally get to really hear them.
As a fan of the series from day one to now this is my favorite track throughout it has this ME 1 vibe to it in the beginning that brings back a familiar feeling
This song and action on Mars was like a reunion of the best ages for space from 80s to the 2000s we went there baffled at the invasion then this music blasted us, also the unreleased version you can find in RUclips
I think I realized when this soundtrack was playing - "I'm having far too much fun with this game. And it's partly due to the fact that the soundtrack has improved massively since Mass Effect 1, no more minimizing the game to play my own music in the background! This is a very appropriate soundtrack. (Although in fairness, playing 'Big Iron' by Johnny Cash whilst riding the Mako to take down a gang of Mercs was some of the best fun I had in that game...) :D
mass effect over the three games, has the best soundtracks over any game, i've ever played and i've been playing games since the 80s. of course this is just personal opinion. Each fit in to the mission and to the game they represent. ME3 soundtrack gets me more excited than the other two.
Truly a great series of ambient music and battle music. Definitely sounds like a desperate recall to Mars in song form. I am alll for music that combines multiple genres like this, especially electronic melded with instrumentals!
That was exactly my point. When you have played a game of this magnitude, with all these amazing stories and stuff, you don't actually need an ending, because you can imagine one yourself. The Extended Cut did that for us, but still, for some people, it wasn't enough.
You're right, its not some little detail. And you're right that the whole series was building up to the end. What most people who diss the ending dont seem to realise is that the build up from the previous 2 games, especially ME1,is that it didn't matter what Shephard or the rest of the galaxy did,it didn't matter what they planned,it didn't matter how hard they fought, they were going to die by the Reapers.Does no-one remember Harbinger's conversations with Shephard in ME1 and Arrival in ME2?
Typical day of a mass effect fan : I insert the mass effect 3 disk and begin my game, I finish the prologue, I come on Mars (a dream since mass effect 1), the first real fight begins ... The music starts at 3:05 ... So I remember the desperate rush towards the Canal on Ilos, the awesome suicide mission where I was afraid of losing Garrus or Tali, the epic ride on the shadow broker's ship with Liara... So I immediately thought this : Shepard is back !
The first part of the song sounds almost like an old console video game haha! I always find it strangely sympathetic when I get there in my playthroughs.
I cannot understand how people are so absolutely negative that they focus on the 3-4 bad parts of such an amazing game and forget that this is the end of a saga in which you save the universe, unite the races, and sacrifice yourself
Dude Suicide mission was my favourite soundtrack. Bringing it back thru this track and adding the synth. Fuck yes. It's so nice that they didnt just re-use the same track.
i am sad to see the characters go away from this series and having to say goodbye... but i cant wait to see what bioware does next with new characters and with the next gen consoles just imagine how gorgeous me4 will look :D
They didn't lie about that, they just stretched the truth. When they said 'ending,' they meant since attacking the Illusive Mans Headquarters. In this part, a lot of decisions made in the trilogy do have an effect, even if its as simple as a war asset.
I agree with you. The original ending was good, not great, but sufficent. It left a lot of room for imagination (call it plotholes if you want to), so you potentialy could get exactly the ending YOU wanted. The Extended Cut made it even better, and fleshed it out very well. It actually did what I had imagined it would do, aside from the Quarians and Geth not merging in the Synthesis-ending... The Reapers rebuilding and everything else was the way I imagined it.
Always loved that Cerberus soldier who freaked out in the middle of this mission and screamed, "HOLY SHIT THAT'S SHEPARD!" XD
Levi Yates Cerberus soldier: *DAMN!
Especially since at that point you'd think the Cerberus soldiers would be too cybered to feel fear.
Then again, if the Reapers can fear Shepard...
I spared his life. lol
@@KwadDamyj They'll either run away, melt down or fall in love
Yeah
This track, especially the beginning of it, really captures the desperation of Shepard and the Alliance to figure out what the Hell is going on. The tension created here is fantastic.
Love the part from 01:48
Y
I wish the whole game was this good.
this one is reminiscent of mass effect 1's soundtrack. ME1's soundtrack was the most "scifi" and techno sounding out of the 3 games. i always preferred it.
james moore I totally agree, brother. That synth just spells out Mass Effect for me.
Today devs are targetting Kids. Kids dont like synth. They prefer stupid rap ugga bugga my lambo
Hahahhaha totally agree
3:05 is why I love this song...
I think everyone shares that opinion
1:45 is king. That tune is the second best thing in the entire trilogy ost.
It reminds me of the Deus Ex HR OST.
+Iván A. Agreed ! Both games have the best soundtracks I've ever heard and most of them are outstanding
What's the first?
This soundtrack is criminally underrated
It's the best with Uncharted Worlds, in ly opinion.
Game won multiple awards, Sam and Jack won multiple titles = underrated. (?) wtf. Specially Mars, classified by many as 80s renascent among academics, go look at Wikipedia. You comment grievers can't even be creative anymore. Always some dude calling things underrated without basic research.
@@cybergothika6906 You don't hear people talk about those awards, lul
I don't know why this was used in only one mission. It is the best and most fitting track from all me3 soundtrack
I prefer the view of palaven but this one is good too
Really wished this theme played more in the game.
I concur
3:06 generates my mass effect field
+Benassiesto
That sounds like an euphemism...
xD Shhhhh. You'll make him look bad.
Also your hired, if you want to be. Your to proceed to the war room
It calibrates my Normandy cannons.
It pops my thermal clip.
Man that part of the song just warps me into the mood
The beginning always gives me chills, so good
Do you know what the synth is called
Asrm
the intro is so fucking perfect
This is why Andromeda failed.

Three years late but nah, there are sooooo many bigger reason why Andromeda failed lmao
Also vigil, absolute banger
3:06 onwards. The synth, the strings, the chords O_O

3 years later, I'd certainly have to agree. Hold the line!
@@MajorKirrahe 5 years later still the best part
1:44 Oh My God . . .
"I allied with the Cerberus to take down the Collectors. That's it."
1:40 to 2:40. I play that on repeat all the time
When the first humans to set foot on Mars play a little commencement music, I want it to be this song (at least the ambient part).
I love how it switches tone again at 3:44. Man I just love this song! Feel like playing again and I only just finished a week ago lol. :)
I dig this part the most too. Really feels like a Hans Zimmer composed piece of work. The overlay of synth strings over the main baseline drives the sensation of tension and desperation that the Alliance experiences throughout the course of ME3's plot.

Probably my favourite track from ME3.
Yeah this definitely felt like the first ME1, soundscape-wise.
I usually despise opening missions in RPG's (VANCOUVER WAS TUTORIAL LEVEL) since I reroll hundreds of times, but this one never got old or stale. That's some amazing level design right there.

3:05, this is the best action theme in any video game I've ever played.
The way the slow synth swells at 3:05 is wonderful. The best part is how the enemies and layout in this chapter are meant to slow you down. The frantic beat combined with the synth adds a lot to the tension, especially since the section proceeding it blares with the Reaper-like horns.

This is definatley my favorite track... Along with 'I'm Proud of You' and 'An Ending Once and For all'
One of the best soundtracks I've ever heard , fantastic
2:13 Tron vibes
This track is just so amazing. I wish every world in every ME game had had a soundtrack as epic as this one.

Just Passing Through.
Same here I just made this as a FAQ acoount for people but most of my songs play list is mass effect

@@Jedioutcast It's good to inspire the men, remind them of what they are fighting for
The most Mass Effect 1 track in 3.
My favorite part is around 2:10 , when I really realised that this was ME3, and that I was playing it there and then.
Why the f*ck did they use this theme for only one damn mission?
+TheIceWarrior That's how great this game's soundtrack is. They have unique themes for every mission!
Wouldn't be as memorable is they overused it
I hear a little bit of Liara's World in the intro!
Favorite song in the game.
best level in the Mass Effect series
It’s definitely up there, Legion’s loyalty mission from ME2 and Palavan from ME3 also really stand out.

80's sci-fi music. perfect

Reminds me of some of Bruce Faulconer's work. LOVE IT!
Mars TRULY was THE best part of this entire game, Loved it from start to finish.
but I feel that there is a part of the song missing in this video.
This song sums up the atmosphere of the whole game. Mysteruous, epic, desperate and dark. Just like the whole game.
I think I realized when this soundtrack was playing - "I'm having far too much fun with this game. This music is ridiculously amazing.
Hackett out.
2:39 is the best part. The combats happening with this music are just awesome =D

So this is what Mars sounds like. I will make sure to play this next time I visit.
I've always loved this track so much
i thought mars was the sickest level ever in a game, then what happened to ash made me wanna cry
If we ever Land on Mars I demand this soundtrack to be broadcasted
Best track from my game no 1.
Don't get me wrong the traditional movie orchestra music is good. But when I got to this section it made me go "oh thank god, some mass effect music".
3:40 There it is. I had the volume on low when I played this last and I swear I heard some of Holtz's work at one point.

This should be the theme song of the game. When I first met this I actually thought it was hahahah
dont care about the game but this soundtrack is amazing. It manages to give a "feeling of space" which words fail me to describe. Its great.
I like 2:12 through 2:39 the most. The strings towards the end of the section give it a nice melancholic finale.
I can visualize Cerberus soldiers head exploding while listening that
Sweeet. I hear part of Tali's theme in here too. Very, *very* nice to see they're incorporating various bits from the past games.
