Sitting alone in a quiet room with nothing but your own thoughts is powerful because you're forced to face your fears head on without trying to silence them through distraction or constant stimulation of the modern world
honestly i have phases where i can sit in silence and meditate, and then other times i cant still for more than 3 seconds because the thoughts are so overwhelming that i have to either act upon those thoughts or distract myself from them.
Astrid Iris Benić true. It’s very rare that people get „high“ on their own brain chemistry just from being happy and at peace, most people need some external help. Therefore it’s not crazy to assume the person in front you is high, when the majority behaving like this usually is .
@NelyL Maybe because they wish they had the will to be as joyful on command, so it just comes off as "annoying" Just like those successful highschool dropout ads are annoying.
Man this guy' vibe is different!! And soooooooo positive. I felt like i was into a different dimension while hearing the talk. I felt my self in the moment and realized how we rush through our lives but never be in the moment. I really felt in the moment while hearing to him .Its so beautiful. Thank You Soo much tom for presenting this! And mike too! 🙏🙏
I like this interview with someone who is figuring it out, rather than someone who has it figured out. It's easy to relate him, despite his success. I liked the bit about doing what feels right to you, even if it would harm a relationship -- because you'll harm the relationship inevitably by not doing it. That has a ring of truth to it
Nobody has figured it all out :) there's no such thing. There are merely those who are continously evolving and recognise that they know nothing, or those that have evolved so little that they believe themselves to have 'figured it all out'. We're all masterpieces in progress 😊
@@J.Moyine Well said. The more self aware we are, the more we learn and hopefully evolve. And usually become satisfied with life and the world. Smile more
I am 47 and just recorded and produced my first songs last year...waited many decades thinking I wasn't good enough, then realized I love making music, and expressing my ideas and perspective through songs...so I do it for myself, and slowly I am getting better and better! About 5 years ago I made practicing my guitar a regular part of my routine...and now I have a lot going on with other musicians.
I am 32 now and have been playing guitar for over 24 years and producing music for a while. We all have paths in life that take us to where we need to go. Don't ever give up because we all have those moments that we think we aren't good enough. Practice and dedication to your craft. Music is a lifelong journey.
Not composed. He's possessed and needs to exorcised by JESUS. RAM DASS was possessed by the spirit of deception by Satan himself. Mike was his prey. Poor Thing!
'This failure is not forever' - teenagers sometimes/ most times forget that there is a tomorrow so they feel that everything has to be done right away. (I need him/ her to like me right now, I need to know and feel it all right now.) As adults we get so overwhelmed we forget that our failures don't completely define us as long as we keep moving forward. I appreciate Tom speaking on that. I literally paused the video, looked around my room, took in my position (physical, spiritually, financially, socially, and my past guilt) and recited 'my failures are not forever' it takes a little time, most times lol. I'm happy i watched this. Great reminders
"Love is accepting someone how they are right now and how they aren't right now". That is so true. Stay true to who you are and people are going to respect (and even love) that you don't try to fit in or whatever. Also, Tom your interviewing skills are so amazing, you're better than most journalists! Well done. Much love from Greece ☺
Kelly Rabiosa i think they’re both very interesting, but I think he didn’t really let the interview flow naturally, still a very interesting convo, but i think he can improve a lot in the interviewer part
He had a spiritual bend to every answer he gave.. seems to me like he is still in awe of his new self discovery.. I like the way he says that success and materialism is not necessarily the cause of his happiness anymore and even to be on Tom's show but is still interested in doing something when he gets the chance.. Tom at his usual best in getting the juice out for my benefit.. Thank you!
Mike is such a beautiful soul. Handsome too 😍 I sometimes listen to these podcast through my headphones, while tidying up, but I had to watch as his presence, smile, thought processes and being - ness needed to be seen. Great job Tom x

Mike Posner the most talented and underrated artist ever!! He is brilliant and his music, poetry and personal journey has helped me tremendously. Keep Going Mike!
Mike is on such an amazing level. I don't know, I feel like theres a depression in him, but not in a bad way. There's also peace inside of him among all the chaos and uncertainty. This imterview was just so honest and unfiltered. Tom gave amazing questions and Mike was answering from the heart.
Damn I think Cooler than me is the song i listened too the most on repeat ever! But never knew how cool and mindfull Mike is, glad I know now and i respect him even more. Thanks for the great content Tom!
i took away many lessons from this incredibly inspiring conversation. what stood out most was when mike questioned himself, "do i even want to keep doing music?" and that made me realise, are we using music (or art, or exercise, work, or whatever our passion) to make us feel better? should we not, at the same time, be letting those passions use us to make the world better?
I did not expect this to be so captivating.....Got my attention from the get go.....Mike Posner had some really important insights....and who knew the dude could talk like that !
Having done the Landmark Forum (nearly 6 years now!), I can say that I know EXACTLY how he is feeling. You feel free and a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. I remember when I heard his song “I took a pill in Ibiza”, I thought to myself how he’s going to end up being a pop star that overdosed on drugs :( That was just an initial thought. Seeing him in this interview, I got chills and I’m so proud of how far he’s come. He’s truly happy and connected to the world. Ahhh so amazing!!! Tom, what a thrilling interview you conducted
Dear Tom, thank you so much for everything you're doing.. before exploring your channel, I was extremely depressed. I relate so much to your story, I went to film school too and everything was going okay, and then my graduation film made me question my goals and I stopped believing in myself, I spent the next 2 years blaming myself, feeling like a failure. I had no idea what to do with my life. I felt like everything was over for me. But now, the change I'm going through is remarkable, all of these stories and amazing humans are extremely inspiring. I can't thank you enough, I'll work harder and stay focused and make my dreams a reality. I'm extremely grateful for what you're doing, Thank you Tom and Impact Theory team. Tom and Mike, this episode touched me. I have watched many others and felt lifted by the guest's stories, but this was different. Tom I discovered you from Omar's "The Passionate Few" interview which connected with me so well, I checked Impact Theory out. I have not been disappointed; this was one of the most unique interviews I've seen. Jumped across so many important topics that completely rewired how I view life now. Even your little reply, "Do I have to do it, since I'm so scared of it?" I caught that and it was like a light bulb lit! - subscribed
I really hope my son Raymond Willard Jr / Raymo watches / listens to this interview. This is so deep ! and I think very helpful to young people that are aspiring to be musicians in this world and still trying to find themselves , be successful and still stay grounded. I can only pray that he finds his peace within himself loves himself / knows how loved he is and knows that Success is Not Just being famous, success is being happy within yourself and those around you, and the life you created for yourself , to be happy and proud with the choices that you made , learning from the mistakes and turning them into life lessons. Just knowing how to "just Be " and know life is a blessing 💯✌🌞Thank you Mike Posner for being positive role model and inspiration to Young male musicians. And showing that life is so much deeper than being rich and famous . also thank you for this interview Tom Bilyeu.... Awesome ✌ .. Shout out to the D :-)!!! ( Detroit )
This channel is really helping me right now, and has been for a while. Thank you for dedicating your efforts to something that actually helps and guides people through the difficulties of life.
Why did Tom interrupt this guest....to talk at length about himself and about his own/past successes in ways that were not really relevant, needed or necessarily helpful to the natural flow of conversation happening, beforehand? (Circa 10:30 mark) He is usually such an excellent listener. I got the sense (for the first time in any of his interviews) that he might have been perhaps slightly jelly, here, for some reason, of Posner.
Totally love this guy right off the bat. This is what I preach. Both. Goals, and acceptance. #RideItOut Thanks for introducing me to another inspiring human!!! #MuchLove
Making peace with things you can't control seems to be the biggest lesson he's learned. I've come to this conclusion along my own path as well. You're ambition isn't the enemy, but if you're making life decisions based on it, it could lead to someplace you didn't intend for it to go. I find you need to continuously reel it in and be clear what your reasons for doing things are. Meditation will help with a lot. Don't fight the accolades and success that may come along inadvertently. It's the reward for doing what you're good at. To thine own self be true Mike.
GREAT interview. It was king of mind boggling when he spoke about staying in the cabin for ten days as if it was an isolation chamber. We sure our moving quickly as a society in terms of "plugging in" to the grid. I sure am happy I grew up in the 80's in Alaska. We slept in the cabin. Days spent in the woods engaging with the moment and nature only was all we did. Now its becoming terrifying to even consider such disconnection. yikes. I love this kid a lot. Refreshing.
Awesome video and great insights! Personally I've done the Landmark Forum and most of their leadership programs. Its transformed my relationship with how I view life and how I create what's possible for myself and others. To me the technology it goes to work on removing what's in the way of you being your true self, outside of what you currently see is possible for yourself and your life.
I love this! Mike’s experience w/ Landmark especially resonates with me. It has been a foundational piece of my transformational journey as well. Go Mike!
I LOVE your videos and the people you interview. So much to learn. I have grown so much as a person from your channel. Mike is so... calm and high almost lol. I love it.

We've reached a stage in humanity where seeing a person full of energy and happiness is seen as being "high".
FACTS. He's at peace imo.
It's because most of us are not and we haven't learned how to be happy without substances or addictions to behaviors or activities.

idk but as a person who frequently gets high I can definitely see why people would think that😅😂

I get the same vibe from him as i do from keanu reeves for some reason , calm at the same time internally intense.
The Landmark Forum is an incredible experience.
tom bilyeu your interviews are the best
Awesome ✌
.. Shout out to the D :-)!!! ( Detroit )
One of my favorite episodes so far! His calm and friendly demeanor made the interview really enjoyable to watch
This channel is really helping me right now, and has been for a while. Thank you for dedicating your efforts to something that actually helps and guides people through the difficulties of life.
I was excited for this but it still blew me away!!! Very valuable gold nuggets
Glad it resonated!
Because Mike loves to listen. People like talking to Mike.
True... I noticed the same
Man almost got me🥺. I love listening to this guy talk his story is beautiful and his mission with life is amazing
Thank you Mike. Needed this.
this show was phenomenal. Mike resonates with peace
Such a humble & relaxing guy
Go Mike!
My heart smiles bigger with these stories, I’m subscribed for the better
I love this guy. I only found him because I'm walking from Miami to Utah.
I LOVE your videos and the people you interview. So much to learn. I have grown so much as a person from your channel. Mike is so... calm and high almost lol. I love it.
