And look what happened… it broke apart in flight and Pete Mitchell some how survived the near instantaneous 3500 deg Fahrenheit heat that would have existed from the friction of the air at that speed. The X-43 flown by NASA recorded that temperature at Mach 9.6. Gotta love Hollywood.
I'm still surprised the SR-71 can fly that fast for that long. Even though the fuel flow is less at higher altitudes, they had to have burned a LOT of fuel.
It would be nice to know how long that airplane could go without refueling which obviously depends on a lot of variables. The official SR-71 manual has been de-classified and is free on the internet. It's de-classified but there are a lot of blacked out words in the manual.
You said in “the film it was sped up!” There was no film used in this production! It was Memory that recorded this not Film! Just yanking your chain! 🤣 Happy New Year! 😁🛫
"Now remember, the contract says mach 10, not 10.1, not 10.2."

@@thecorporatepilotdad I'll have to look into that!
Is it possible for the darkstar, sr 71 or any other aircraft that hasn’t been announced or anything like that go that fast?
In real life NASA's X-43 went Mach 9.6 in the early 2000s which was also a scramjet.
Can you commute for work? Yes.
That would be one heck of a way to commute to work and fun.
But what about the rocket lag? 🤣🛫

It makes me feel old to say film, but from now on it will be "digital media rendering".
