    When it comes to the Jewish question, we can do both. If there are young men who blame their personal problems on others, they obviously need to work through that warped mindset. And at the same time, when there is a religious/ethnic supremacy in government/media/entertainment/finance that shapes all political discourse, we must challenge it and never back down. And Yoram Hazony is an Israel First zionist.

    I like Allie Beth Stuckey a lot but I showed up in her comment thread to protest and rebut when she went after red pill and patriarchy. I really am not even comfortable with her going after Steven Furtick. I would rather see her refer people to men who have dealt with him in detail.
    I don't agree with coming down against a Christian woman functioning as a talk show host interviewing people. A lot of the people she interviews are people with really important messages who are badly in need of the attention she provides some.

    I get that the "okay boomer this" is not very respectful to your elders, but what's wrong with "post-war consensus that"? I'd say it has nothing to do with being respectful. It sounds like an "ad fontes" type of thing to me, to break the post-war consensus.

    • @Ingabobjoe
      @Ingabobjoe 3 дня назад +4

      I don't think he would disagree with your statement, but he's thinking in categories. You can simultaneously look around at your current multicultural society and praise God for the opportunities afforded you to share the gospel, while also acknowledging that the presence of multiple incompatible cultures living in the same neighborhood betrays a tension that isn't going to disappear until one of the cultures is subsumed into the other. In Joel's case, he's lamenting the fact that when he walks around his neighborhood, he doesn't see his neighbors united by their worship of the true God or signalling submission to that culture, but rather sees Hindus and Pakistanis (likely Muslims), dressed in their traditional religious garb, comfortable publicly identifying with the worship of demons in a state and nation that was founded to be self-consciously Christ-worshipping. It's a sobering and sorrowful thing. People from almost every other nation on earth (whether Christian or non-Christian) will understand the ethno-cultural in-group preference that Joel is expressing, and you'll experience the reverse of it if you visit a country where you look different and don't speak their language. While it can come out in sinful ways (i.e. despising the foreigner), the special love we have for our people in particular is a part of the nature God gave us, and that comes with an accompanying natural distrust of people and cultures that threaten to subvert the wellbeing of the people we naturally love.
      And that doesn't at all preclude the coexistence of a desire to share the gospel with those particular neighbors.
