Nope...I liked him when I was young, but now I seem to like him more. I think the older we get we have a greater appreciation for older music among other things. Maybe it reminds us of good times, or perhaps it just brings us to new meanings of things...

This drum beat is one of the most unique in the history of music
Still one of my favourite songs on the album. I remember coming back from school in the late 90's. I was always the first one to arrive back from school, I was around 9/10 years old. I enjoyed the freedom of being alone for the few hours before my mom got home from work. I would put this song on blast, the windows would rattle a bit from the impact. I'm blessed to have grown up with his music playing at home. Makes me laugh to know that i've always been a bit dramatic.
As much as I love "In The Air" I love this more.

I want a pool. What? A drought? So, no pool? Ok, I’m sitting in my pool chair under my pool umbrella. Near-beer in my hand and beer nuts. Listening to the greatest singer ever. Oh yeah!! So many fabulous songs. I’m 83 so heard many, some made me happy, sad, I sang with some, and one I laughed at as it shows our beautiful nation today!! One always makes me remember a great tv series. And others you just flat enjoy. But this one breaks my heart. Been there, know the feeling. But keep on listening to it. His music has made me enjoy life so much more. At times I I can’t figure out what’s happening to us. But we must remember who we are and continue to be strong and brave Americans. Free, hmmm.

I was , for decades, in awe of how incredibly talented Phil Collins is. In his Genesis time period and after that. His music and vocals are woven in every part of me, for decades and always will be.
