The gen 6 ai always uses their mega last, yes. same with dynamax mons in gen 8. Oddly the gen 7 z-move mons don't fall into this trap. Also, in gen 6 only, mega's speed alterations aren't taken to account until the turn after they mega, so that's why barracuda outsped.
You know, Mega speed checks happening like that makes perfect sense in the most backwards, Pokémon way possible. Thanks for the info!

However you can force them to bring out their mega/dynamax before then by using a move like roar
@@Rylockes Another thing-in camphrier town there's an npc that will give you one of the 5 status berries if you show them a mon of a type they ask to see, so it is actually possible to get cheri berries before grant. There's a similar npc in Castelia in unova.

Basculin is pretty underrated imo
It is. Adaptability Basculin hits like a truck and especially in nuzlockes, if it's EV trained mostly in attack and a bit of investment goes into its speed, it will outspeed almost everything and just wreck stuff.

So basically if you do a Gen 6 game for the M challenge you can choose Any of the Kanto or Hoenn starters (Depending on Kalos or Hoenn), and then create the team of mega evolutions that can counter almost any team, AND if it's in ORAS you can use Rayquaza...

Bisharp is such an MVP. I’ve been using it competitively as my opener for 3 generations. Sucker punch and swords dance are the best plus flinching. I’ve used him as a stealth rocker as well.

these strategies were pretty impressive, the explosion play was awesome

Would love seeing more gen 6 onward gameplay. Everyone just nuzlockes gens 3-5. But i think gen 6 and 7 nuzlockes are fun to watch. If you're not playing with a level cap you can always turn off exp share to make it harder, USUM with no exp share and no z moves is really hard especially if you limit your available pokemon

I mean yeah. I think the main issue is that this is the internet. To explain further at LEAST one person will likely argue that A:Megas are not allowed because they start with M. Or B:Megas are to OP so they shouldnt be in a hardcore nuzlocke.

I'm definitely thinking playing Emerald for the C nuzlocke is the way to go. You can get Combusken, Cacturne, Camerupt, Crobat, etc. Loving these videos!

keeping bergmite as a bergmite will never not be the best option imo, avalugg is so much less cute
Bibarel is quite underrated. Yawn-Protect strats can be very useful as seen here and Normal/Water is an excellent offensive typing and it can actually be really useful in nuzlockes if used properly.
swords dance gives +3 on simple bibarel
@@charana538 I actually forgot about Simple there, and Swords Dance would increase its attack by 4 stages because Simple effectively doubles any stat changes but unfortunately, Bibarel cannot learn Swords Dance until gen 7, but a moveset of STAB Return and Waterfall with Yawn and Protect is still solid.

In my Pokemon X hardcore uzlocke, I lost my Drapion to that same Mienshao in Frost Cavern. Which is bad, because Drapion was a Pokemon that I was planning to use in the 7th Gym.

It's always interesting how RUclips nuzlockers always say Gen 6 is really easy but then struggle a little bit with them. I think it's mostly inexperience with the games but I they underestimate them as well.
If you do nuzlocke C in pokemon X and Y, you'd be able to use the chespin line for the whole playthrough as well as the charmander line
