Sir annual sallary of less than 15lakh is nri if he/she stays 180 days outside India
For more than 15 lakh salary , 270 days are required to maintain nri status .
So if no of days are not met , the salary in account will be taxed , right ?
For Seafarers it is 180 days to maintain NRI status

No not like any other citizen. We have to invest through nro account and tds will be deducted at the time of redemption in mf amc itself.
If I get salary in NRE in dollars and I have to use that money in India So while conversion do we have to pay tax? Or we can use directly through NRE account?
When you send dollars to NRE account that money automatically gets convert into Ruppee and stays in you account

@@CruiseWithAkshay i visited axis bank regarding this so they informed me that they have 2 schemes for mariners nri account 1 with 10k into this i’ll not get any special facilities like airport lounge & discounts on other various stuff but if i choose the scheme of 2 lakh so i’ll get so many benefits. Yeah it is useful. Otherwise if you transfer money into normal saving account. it will charge some amount on every transfer & Hope u can understand being a saving account it is not made for to receive huge amount from abroad.

I have some doubts i have saving account in india i am currently living in Muscat oman and i have 5 lac fds in saving account now i wanted to convert my sb acc to nro account and to open a new nre account as well now i have confusion i have booked fds in saving acc if i trasnfer to nro account there will be 10 to 30% tax deduction and there is no way to transfer my funds to nre account what to do pls guide. You can convert your existing savings account into NRO & FD will continue.
